Mountain Auto Care

Mountain Auto Care

I just wanted to share a quick positive experience I had with Mountain Auto Care, even though they…read moreultimately weren't able to service my car. After our check engine light came on, we called and spoke with Cameron. I explained what had happened, and he let me know that unfortunately they were getting ready to be closed for the next couple of days and likely wouldn't be able to service our car until early the following week. Even with that, he suggested we still stop by if we could. He said he could at least scan the car, see what was going on, and hopefully give us some direction. About 15 minutes later, we showed up and Cameron scanned the car for us. He confirmed that we were dealing with a cylinder 1 misfire (P0301), wrote down the code for us, and gave us some advice on how to diagnose the issue, figure out what was causing it, and hopefully get ourselves back on the road. What stood out to me was that he was genuinely willing to help even though he knew he probably wasn't going to get the business. He was getting ready to close within the next 30-40 minutes, but still took the time to talk with us and point us in the right direction. We ultimately had to handle the repair ourselves, but Cameron's willingness to help when he didn't have to was absolutely worth mentioning. Sometimes it's the small interactions that make you remember a business, and this was definitely one of them. Thanks, Cameron, for taking the time to help us out!

Hutch's Transmission

l lost reverse in my 2001 Ford F250 Super Duty 4 x 4 truck. I drove it to Hutch's Transmission and…read morethey pulled the oil pan on the transmission and found metal in it. I was advised that it would need to come out of the truck and and dismantled to find the problem. The found that a "keeper" on the reverse solenoid had broken. They replaced the "keeper" with a heavy duty one, cleaned up transmission and reinstalled it with new fluid and test drove it. Hutch's had rebuilt this transmission in August of 2010 but I had only put 1,000 miles on it. There was no charge for this service even though the 6 month/30,000 mile warranty had expired. They had good communication through out this repair and a professional attitude. I highly recommend this vendor as they have repaired several transmission for my company in the past.

would never recommend taking your vehicle here. Took my car in to get a diagnostic on my…read moretransmission cause it was leaking and my car has been making a noise when it idles that it normally wasn't making. They don't even look at my transmission mind you then proceed to tell me it's my brake pads and they're metal on metal so that's why it's making the noise. My car makes no noise when i press on the brakes... it only makes the noises while idling. Then I ask them if they even looked at my transmission and if they seen the red fluid leaking out of it, they said they did not even look at it and it would be another $150 plus tax to run a diagnostic on the transmission WHICH is what I brought it in for in the first place. So I just go pick up my car anyways. Have to pay $200 for their "diagnostic" on my brakes. Then we go to change my brake pads at home AND THEY ARE NOT EVEN METAL ON METAL they did not even need to be changed. So not only did I pay $200 for them not to diagnose the important issue that my car is having and what i took it in for, but I also had to pay $200 for a diagnostic that was not even true and not an issue at all. Just a warning if you're thinking about taking any vehicle there , I personally wouldn't.
