Another quick and succinct review here. I always like to find different places to stop on my travels north and southbound on I-95. I came across Basilico in Fredericksburg on Yelp and stopped in for a quick lunch last Sunday on my way home. The restaurant was bustling, the food was great, the service was quick, and it was delicious. I was not disappointed. There are many options to choose from. The bakery choices were abundant and looked delicious but I passed (this time).

Fast service, great food, and delectable desserts. This was my second visit and it did not disappoint. I love the pick two option, because there are so many great options . The tomato orzo bisque is amazing. I typically do not get the bread, but I forgot to swap out with my tuna melt and it was not overpowering and I enjoyed the meal.

Basilicos for the win once again! I just love this place and the food is delicious. The steak stromboli is the best I've had. I made the mistake and bought pre made ones from Wegmans this past week... and had to order this to recoup from the disappointment. I also ordered the lobster bisque which is amazingly thick and creamy. I haven't tried the cake yet, but I know it's going to be tasty!

My co workers raved how great this place was. I was in Fburg today today so figured I would check it. Order to go Italian Hero Large and Italian Hero small and chicken noodle soup. The small was put in a container and it's like they just put everything in the container and didn't close the sandwich I was like what deli puts a sandwich in the container and doesn't close it. My wife took a bite of the small sandwich after trying to close it was bone dry no Italian oil, seasoning or dressing. She was like what Italian deli doesn't put any oil or seasoning on a sandwich. The large was rolled and I thought maybe they just forgot to put the oil and seasoning on the small one. Similar bone dry sandwich took one bite and tossed both in the trash. I wouldn't recommend this deli and I wasted $31.15 didn't try the soup but put it in trash bin.

Food - 4.2 service - 3.5 ambiance - 4 I got the cranberry turkey panini sandwich with cole slaw side and potato salad. I was pleasantly surprised. Solid food stop in Fredericksburg. I did think the sandwich could use a little more butter- it was not as oily a panini as it should have been (it wasn't at all). But it was flavored well and the sides were delicious. The slaw was an Amish style.. very fresh and healthy tasting. The service was extremely slow. There is a restaurant there too so that's probably why. Next time I swing by the area I will try to make an order in advance.

Hot food was delicious. The desserts looked great, but did not compare to the food. Service was outstanding

I first tried this restaurant in 2021 and I remember having tried the fettuccine Chicken Alfredo (good), the Mac n cheese (great), and the carrot cake (bad). Now I've returned to see if the place is as good as I remember. I had a to-go order of the chicken fettuccine Alfredo $17.50, the custom chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread with a side of Mac n cheese $12, a slice of Oreo cake, and sampled the Oreo gelato. The chicken Alfredo was okay but definitely not as good as I last remembered and it's also crazy how the small amount of chicken given was an additional 5 whole dollars (ridiculous). The custom chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread was solid but nothing special. The mac n cheese was very good and easily the best item I've tried. The Oreo cake was pretty bad tbh and I definitely wouldn't get it again. The Oreo gelato I tried also wasn't good.

Chilling out on my day off!

This is a Italian-American restaurant fused w a bakery-gelatoria. It's a nicely lit place w good service and not too loud. Nice place to meet a person for lunch or coffee. The dessert selection looks delectable and fresh. I had a pizza and exercised restraint but it was really hard. The pizza was pretty good. What stood out was the richness of the sauce. It tasted fresh. Not the best pizza in FXBG but good. It's cooked in a brick oven and had that crunchy crust you would expect. I went w the safe selection as it's my first time here for food but they surprisingly have a nice selection. I'll be back for dessert and coffee.

The ice cream is very tasty.

The food and service are amazing. My mom and I dropped in for a bite to eat and were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed our meal. The pizza and potato salad were excellent. The staff is very friendly and attentive. And, just when you think you're full, a glass case filled with every dessert you could dream of, will call out to you. Not a pastry, cake, tart lover? That's ok, because their ice cream is top notch!!! We'll be back to enjoy this sweet lil gem!!!

Great food. Service is great most of the time. Some of the younger staff can be rude but the older staff are always great.

I had seen several social media posts about Maggie's so we decided to give them a try for lunch on…read morea weekday. They not only make sandwiches here, they also make their own sodas too. Their menu was quite large, with hot dogs, cold subs, hot sandwiches, and paninis listed. They also feature a couple soups daily. When we went, they had a loaded baked potato soup and a lobster bisque. The young girl working the front was very happy and helpful and gave some good suggestions too. The place is quaint, with several tables and lots of historic signs on the walls. We started with their baked potato soup - The overall flavor was nice. But the potatoes in it were rubbery, like they used the wrong type of potato or maybe over-cooked it. Also, the soup was just warm, far from being served hot. Next up were the sandwiches - I chose the BBQ chicken sandwich, which had thinly sliced chicken breast on it, along with BBQ sauce, mayo, and onions. The sandwich was pressed, like a panini and was pretty good. I liked the smokiness of the BBQ sauce. I also got a bottle of their homemade root beer and it was pretty good. They serve Route 11 potato chips, which are my favs! So, I had to pick up a bag of Mama Zuma for later - those things are spicey, hot, and tasty! Overall, it's a nice spot, I can see them being a popular lunch spot downtown.

I got the Beyond burger and let me tell you... IT WAS HUGE! So fresh with all the toppings and be prepared it takes a while to make but worth every minute of wait (to the point I thought mine wasn't being made LOL). I got mine with onion rings and let me say i can't wait to get those again! I also added the dipping sauce to try since why not?! My family got the BLT, steak && cheese sub, and shrimp basket. Everyone CRUSHED! They don't skimp on the fries w each meal either. You are going to be full. Cute 'I Love Lucy' themed spot with the can in the parking lot. I wish i could special request tuna because i know it'd be amazing! THANK YOU NYID

The Castellano had a crisped pile of gorgeous beef, with crispy fries, and super fresh veggies (basically a cheeseburger on a sub). My husband ordered this one, so I didn't taste it personally but he absolutely LOVED it. The Thommy, The Three Fingers is a chopped cheese. It's, by god, the best I've ever had in my life. I add peppers, provolone and mayo and an extra side of tzatziki (labeled garlic cucumber on the menu), and oil and vinegar (which tastes like Italian dressing, but who's counting?). The bread is phenomenal. I may literally just order a sub roll with no ingredients one day, just so I can eat it toasted with butter, with every meal I have. It's soft and fluffy, crispy and chewy all at the same time. (It almost gives bagel, but not tough). I also got the y cheesecake. Not as special, perhaps from the Cysco truck (iykyk), but I still bought it and scarfed it down. Strawberry topping was def the average canned-strawberry topping (but I personally love that). I cannot stress, the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD! As for service, the entire team is so friendly and helpful. They kid around, make silly jokes and make sure your order is prepared fresh and fast. It isn't "fast food fast", but also doesn't taste like shit either, so the wait is worth it. At most 10-15 min if you don't call ahead. As for seating, in winter there are only two two-tops so seating is extremely limited. It is mostly a deli-and-get-outta-here kind of place, but nonetheless welcoming and charming. They have tons of Italian memorabilia all over the walls including giant GodFather posters, taxi plates and more. Today was my first time inside, but I've had my husband go pick up food several times on the way home. I cannot live without one of these subs AT MINIMUM once a month.
