    Tiramisu Cake

Came out to try out some of their stuff and was delighted. We ordered the cranberry turkey panini, breakfast croissant, tiramisu, cannoli and apple fritter. The staff was lovely too. panini was good real turkey, croissant was good, cannoli was a bit too much filling and the apple fritter was good. The tiramisu was the main reason for our trip and it did not disappoint!! Definitely coming back for the tiramisu in the future.

My cousin commented that this casual restaurant was well known around town and attested to their great Yelp reviews. The space is large. Plenty of tables and chairs; a big front counter/ordering area (I'm assuming during peak hours they can get pretty busy). When I visited, the brick strip plaza this is part of was obviously new(ish), so the inside looked clean; nice outdoor patio, too. I got a Garden Of Eating panini, added turkey, asked for it on a croissant instead of the default ciabatta. It was spectacular. The turkey and Brie cheese paired perfectly with the avocado, alfalfa sprouts and tomato. Their homemade basil pesto mayo was to die for. My trip to this place was back in the summer of 2021, so I'd like to think they still make their own bread fresh in-house, because the croissant was so soft and gently crisped from the panini press; incredible. The dessert selection here is stocked and ready to rumble. Big pieces of cheesecakes, creme brûlée, fruit tarts, and massive, I mean ginormous, eclairs (something like 7-8 inches long and 2 inches wide); also have gelato. I got a piece of their Tiramisu and it was fabulous! Perfect espresso to Italian cream ratio. The soaked ladyfingers were soft, but not complete mush. Dare I say... Dreamy!

    Grilled cheese and fries

My wife wanted a grilled cheese and fries so I called and ordered 2 grilled cheese and fries to go pick up. They say 27 dollars and some change for that. I get there and look on their menu and if you get the same thing on the kids menu it is only five dollars for a grilled cheese and side. When I get home and open them, they give you a kids portion for the grilled cheese and fries charging you 15 dollars more for the same amount. I will not be getting ripped off like this again. Totally dissatisfied with how they rip you off.

Order Togo: -Chicken Pesto panini + potato salad $12.00 Sandwich was yummy. Potato salad wasn't our favorite. Tasted like deli potato salad but my wife and I have had better. -Turkey cranberry sandwich + Mac & Cheese $12.00 Sand which was decent good not great like the Chicken Pesto Panini sandwich. The Mac & cheese was better than the potato salad. -Small Amerena gelato ice cream. $4.50 Wife really enjoyed the Gelato ice cream. -With tax + 20% Tip (5.70) -Total = $37.71 Service was fantastic, Bella M. Was fantastic at the register. We ordered Togo, and she was super welcoming, and super friendly and awesome. Looked through the glass cases and saw all the desserts and pasta sides. Restaurant was very clean from the looks of it. They have Italian scooters and an Italian small vehicle truck inside for decorations and etc. very cool place. Booths, tables, stools with high top. They have out door seating on the patio on the side. Very cool set up, very nice music playing, kinda like diner soft rock music. I'd definitely come back here.

While we have been here for the full Italian meal experience, this time we just went for dessert and coffee. They have a huge selection of cakes, cheesecakes, profiterole, and gelato! We have tried several of their extensive offering and haven't been disappointed. The limoncello cake is a light option, if you aren't looking for too much sweet. The chocolate mouse tuxedo cheesecake is ultimate decadence. The profiterole were excellent. However, the coffee left a bit to be desired. Our expresso cappuccinos were lack luster...very expensive, not much beverage, lukewarm, and took 30 minutes to be served. We'd definitely come here for dessert again, but skip the coffee until they can make improvements there!

You are greeted with a clean, bright open space so it is inviting. We had reservations for a small party. The staff worked fairly well delivering food and clearing plates. The food was nothing to get excited about. The Greek salad with chicken had fresh greens, tomatoes, feta and kalamata olives with sliced chicken on top. It tasted ok but it just wasn't anything special. The Turkey Cranberry panini was very bland. There was a smear of some type of cranberry but it was barely detectable. Out bill was $28 which is pretty pricey for a salad and sandwich. Oh, and they charge a credit card fee which they don't mention.

The food is great! Love their pizza and cavatelli pasta. Clean and nice atmosphere, good service.

Alexandria Menzies had her birthday party at Basilico and it was great. The place had nice sit down tables, and the hot meals were great. After the meal we had amazing ice cream and cake. The service was fast and friendly, and so it is my new favorite Fredericksburg place.

Basilico is absolutely awesome and the Italian hero with a side of lobster bisque is fantastic.

Food was very good. Careful of the prices. You pay a base amount for a lot of dishes and then start paying a lot of normal add ons.

Our waiter, Jack, was an absolute superstar. He was knowledgeable, attentive, funny, and incredibly helpful with our selections. He truly made the evening special. We started with the calamari and a salad with goat cheese, walnuts, and pomegranate unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it, but it was absolutely delicious! The complimentary bread served with their infused olive oil was outstanding and worth mentioning on its own. For our entrées, my husband and I both ordered specials the Lobster Ravioli and the Halibut. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We also enjoyed an excellent red blend wine. By that point, we had enjoyed enough wine that I completely forgot to take photos of the specials! We finished with the cannoli special dessert, which was good, though not quite as memorable as the rest of the meal. Most of all, we can't thank Jack enough for the great service, laughs, and overall experience. It's rare to find food and hospitality that work together so perfectly. We'll definitely be back very soon!

I've been to this restaurant before, years ago, and I probably would have said it was good. Sadly, today's visit was awful. This is often presented as Fredericksburg's version of upscale dining, but it just isn't. The pasta tasted store-bought, the flavor profiles were flat, and the tomato sauce was overwhelmingly acidic. The mozzarella appetizer with lemon butter? Absolutely not. It felt like I was eating a culinary mistake from the 1970s. It looked like a grilled cheese sandwich covered in sauce and drenched in lemon butter. Nothing about it worked. The arancini was forgettable. My dining partner couldn't even finish the lasagna. It was extremely over-sauced, sloppily presented, and tasted only a small step above something you'd buy frozen at the grocery store. To be fair, the Pomodoro was the only dish at the table that was reasonably enjoyable. However, even that felt overpriced for what was presented. When you're charging premium prices for a simple pasta dish, I expect exceptional ingredients, technique, or house-made pasta. This wasn't that. It felt like a basic pasta dish with a premium price tag attached to it. Maybe my expectations were too high based on the restaurant's reputation, but at these prices, "decent" simply isn't enough. The lone bright spot was our server, who was attentive, friendly, and apologetic. Honestly, the service is the only reason this review gets a star. If I were rating the server alone, it would have been three stars. The atmosphere didn't help. It was cold inside the restaurant, extremely loud, and the lighting seemed to have an identity crisis. One minute it was dim, the next it was bright. If there hadn't been so many elderly people dining, I might have thought I had accidentally wandered into a rave. I couldn't hear my dinner partner without leaning across the table. Even our server apologized and mentioned that it's not usually that loud. I left genuinely disappointed. If you've never ventured beyond Fredericksburg, you might consider this fine dining. But if you've experienced great Italian food elsewhere, you'll likely know there's a significant difference. Significant. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on nearly every level.

We ended up outside on the patio and pretty much every table we passed on the way out there and on the way back out of the restaurant was completely empty so I was so confused why we couldn't sit inside. The menu is limited at best. I felt there were a ton of classic items you see at most Italian restaurants not offered. Fettuccine Alfredo? Nope. Lasagna? Nope. No choices of sauces and no choices of pasta styles. The sauce is on the sweet side, if you're into that. The pasta didn't taste homemade, but wasn't awful. Service was friendly, people were nice, but I wouldn't come back here if I'm looking for more traditional classic Italian dishes. It was fine to try for a quick afternoon stop.

We decided to pop in for an afternoon date while strolling around downtown on a Thursday afternoon…read more The place was relatively empty, but considering the time frame it could have not been reflective of the food or service. the restaurant is quaint with a simple aesthetic not overdone in the traditional way that Italian restaurants can have of going overboard. There were about ten tables total in the establishment. We were greeted and our waitress did her best to navigate all of our questions. She was friendly enough during our visit, and attentive enough without hovering. We decided on an assortment of items based on our conversation with the waitress about what was made in house versus sourced pre-prepared. The menu is front and back but it is not overwhelming by any means. They have a nod to some Chicago classics by having the Italian beef sandwich and Italian sausage but that is it for the specialities. I thought I saw a Chicago Dog online but sadly, they did not have it on the menu. First up: what we ordered--We got toast as an appetizer, and I got a small Italian salad. My husband got the calamari and I got a fish sandwhich with fries. I don't often finish my food so we decided to share it. I got a sweet tea to drink and my hubby got a gin and tonic. Let me preface this by saying the food was absolutely beautiful. Like picture perfect, but it was certainly a mixture of perfectly cooked items I could pick up at the grocery store I believe. The garlic toast was the frozen toast slices you get from the grocery store (you know in the yellow box) perhaps id imagined crusty bread or something that required effort but alas.... It was cooked perfectly though, so no complaints other than it came with three slices and nothing to dip, so I used some of my husband's marinara sauce and that went perfectly with the dish. I'd recommend asking for some. It seemed homemade if it wasn't and I'm sure would be great on some pasta. The calamari was also perfectly cooked and my husband enjoyed it. The salad was a good portion size and included traditional Italian dressing. Well worth it on that one. The fish sandwhich was just okay. It was fried well but was a basic cod patty and there wasn't enough sauce on the sandwhich to really make it flavorful. The fries do not come with the sandwhich and are an upcharge. They were crispy and semi breaded fries. Again, not bad but not spectacular either. The total for our meal was about $60 and I think that's fair. Pricing on the menu is decent and is certainly reflective of the quality of food you're getting. The ambience of the place supersedes the quality of the food that we got at least in terms of food we ordered. It seems to be a small family owned establishment and I think that is wonderful. Great for a quick bite but I wouldn't expect gourmet. They are excellent at preparing the food though which I'd prefer to homemade but not done right.

She was thoughtful, attentive, and smiled like she actually meant it--which is rarer in restaurants these days than a Baptist drinking a margarita in public. But then the food showed up and dragged the whole evening back down the hill. The flatbread pizza was so thin I'm convinced the crust started life as a Nabisco cracker. It was edible, in the technical sense. The calamari, on the other hand, was about 85% breading--looked like somebody dumped a bag of fried socks on a plate. Not greasy, I'll give 'em that, but mostly just a pile of extra coating searching desperately for a squid. So, yes, Bravo did better... but only because Nicole held the rope while the rest of the meal dangled over the cliff.

He went above and beyond throughout our entire visit, and it made a difference. (I'll flag that the waitress who also stopped by our table in the same section was very kind, attentive, and helpful as well). The hostess who took our name was also great, even though she seemed a bit stressed, she clearly communicated our wait time and set expectations well. (I didn't get her name). The food was solid, as always. While Carrabba's isn't the most authentic or best Italian in the area, it's consistent and satisfying, with a good selection of appetizers and drinks. Additionally, the ambiance is relaxed, not overly romantic, but comfortable enough for a casual date night or family dinner. Overall: Carrabba's might not be on everyone's list, but based on our experiences, and the level of service we've consistently received, I'd say it's absolutely worth a visit.
