I would strongly encourage anyone who is seeking a vasectomy to seriously reconsider. Do your…read moreresearch and fully understand that what you will hear from this practice is a misleading representation of stats and outcomes regarding the risks of this seemingly common procedure. I waited over two years to post this review as I know I can't change my decision, but perhaps I can help others learn from my research. I had a vasectomy done in late 2018 and months later started developing Post Vasectomy Pain Syndrome, a condition I was not even aware existed until after the procedure was done. At first these guys were great, they ordered ultrasounds, made time to hear my concerns but once the pain continued and no obvious answers were found, I was referred out for pain management and that was that. Two years later am still experiencing ongoing daily pain that will likely be lifelong despite a reversal earlier this year. I was willing to pay the premium price tag for the individualized attention of the practice, but if you are part of the 15% of men who develop any longterm complications from the procedure--you are on your own because they'll act like PVPS doesn't exist. Welcome to Hell. PVPS affects upward of 15% of men according to a 2016 study. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4854072/) The consequences are lifelong and very difficult to pinpoint. Their consent form is a laughably thin single page document which cites the possibility of some post-operative pain and complication, but PVPS and lifelong pain is mentioned exactly zero times. These guys are great salesmen. You walk in thinking, "It's simple, quick, effective, and has no impact on anything other than fertility and this is white glove service. False. Nowhere does it mention the well documented possibility of PVPS which has been known for decades. Had I been presented with true outcome risks and a true understanding of the longterm impact I would have walked out the door, and you should too. As Warren Buffett famously said, "Never ask a barber if you need a haircut" and never let a urologist sell you on a vasectomy.

I hope you never have to experience the pain of a kidney stone…read more This is where you go to get help...they ease the pain...educate you...care for you. This place was recommended by my primary care Physician, Dr Faltemier. When you trust your Doctor...this is what you do. I had the best experience with Dr Pruna who is highly experienced in his field. It's unfortunate that so many other Yelpers had a not so positive experience. My only complaint is the copius amounts of redundant paperwork which I provided yet continued to have the same exact questions asked throughout my process there. Are you willing to pay a little more for better quality healthcare?

This practice is currently undergoing a multi-week IT transition, and patients are being told to…read more"call back next week" just to schedule appointments. If you try to call anyway, expect to sit on hold for an hour -- and even then there's no guarantee anyone will answer. Even before the transition, the wait times were incredibly long. Frequently over 30 minutes. Appointment access is extremely limited. Existing patients are running about three weeks out for routine visits, and in-office procedures can be pushed 30 days or more. If an urgent issue comes up, you're more likely to end up in the ER than be accommodated here in any reasonable timeframe. Front desk operations -- particularly in Suite 150 -- have been consistently frustrating. On more than one occasion, appointments couldn't be located, and conversations around insurance felt argumentative rather than helpful. There also seemed to be reluctance to work with Veterans Administration healthcare as a primary coverage source, which only added to the difficulty of coordinating care. Once checked in, patients are frequently kept waiting 30-45 minutes beyond their scheduled appointment time, further compounding the practice's broader access and scheduling challenges. From a care standpoint, visits with multiple providers often felt inconclusive, with symptoms leading to more tests and more follow-ups but little diagnostic clarity or direction. Because of the ongoing access, administrative, and care concerns, I have left this group in order to obtain at least adequate and timely medical care -- something this practice has been unable to provide. Also worth noting: their standard online review responses tend to be scripted, directing patients to contact an office manager while citing privacy policies, rather than addressing broader service concerns publicly -- which doesn't inspire much confidence that systemic issues are being resolved.

Unfortunately my first (and last) experience with Fair Oaks Urology was a poor one…read more I scheduled an appointment by phone and received a confirmation email. The email listed the time of the appointment as 11:15am. I arrived SLIGHTLY late at 11:20am. The receptionist immediately told me that I was supposed to be there at 11am, despite the fact that the confirmation email only stated the appointment time of 11:15. The receptionist got an attitude when I pointed out that the confirmation email only stated the appointment time and mentioned nothing about arriving early. She then said they would "try to fit me in" when possible on that day. The confirmation email also included a garbled version of my first name, with no last name included. When I tried to pre-register for the appointment online (to provide the necessary information about me), the system rejected the garbled first name (no last name was listed) and I was unable to pre-register. Had I been able to pre-register, I might have found the information about arriving 15 minutes early. The information that I provided at the time I scheduled the appointment was very sloppily entered into their database. After the initial poor experience with Fair Oaks Urology, I decided to cancel my appointment and leave the business. They are clearly disorganized and sloppy in preparing data for medical visits. I can't speak about the competency of the doctors here, but if the appointment process is any guide, this is not a medical practice that I would ever want to use.

Also recently I was scared, as there was a concern of a growth in the gear. The nuts of a nut are okay, but having lost loved ones to cancer, Dr Al Jubari showed a lot of compassion. I really appreciated his kindness, and even before I found the negative results on the CT scan, he was able to make me able to sleep well. Fellow gents please get checked out. Actually ladies too, as urology covers a lot of medical aspects. This practice is a cinch to schedule with. I'd like to extend my thanks to Dr Al Jubari and Nancy. My wife had a serious bacterial infection previously and pain (not bladder pain or pain similar to UTI which she is familiar with - but pain around her private parts - a deep "different" type of pain). Dr. AJ was busy, clearly, but he listened and he and his nurse checked her out. They took a urine sample. He prescribed Uribel. Another general doctor said that Uribel has serious side effects and it does not appear, from the symptoms described, she has an UTI - that doctor believed Uribel was unnecessary. I sent an email to their office and explained: - We did a Sonogram, - Another doctor recommended a urinalysis and urine test for culture and sensitivity and we have not done these yet. - An infectious disease specialist said the bacterial medicine will not interfere with the results. - We still have the pain described within our visit. - Dr. Al-Jaburi mentioned a particular test that could be done at surgical center. Can we set this up as we prefer having a definitive test over taking medicine to alleviate pain? They responded, "take the medicine first. Don't rush the procedure. Schedule another visit if you want". We did NOT take the medicine. Another urologist said Uribel is a powerful medicine and said it did not appear to be a suitable choice without knowing more. The same urologist performed a test and then stretched her uretha and alleviated the pain that may have been caused by the bacterial infection. I realize judgement was applied and this can be imperfect. Perhaps Uribel was a good choice but it appears probably not. Regardless, we felt that it was a hurried decision to prescribe that without knowing more.
