Outdoor patio
Manuel G.

This café definitely has a unique setting. Nestled inside of a large warehouse between other businesses, storage center, and so much more, the atmosphere is more than just what is indoors. The outdoor patio/canopy of white curtains, chandeliers, and glass is so pretty. It looks good enough for a wedding. Inside the coffee shop, there is ample space and comfortable seating, with a smattering of art on the walls. Better yet, they have string lights which I love. While here I had ordered a matcha lavender latte which was good. Not too sweet. I also ordered a bagel sandwich which was served on a bagel. The egg on the sandwich tasted freshly made and there was a good amount of turkey on it as well. I ordered a side of fries cooked in beef tallow. The fries were lightly seasoned and tasted good. They definitely were a more moist fry, which I liked. Sometimes the double-fried method of making fries dries them out. I appreciate the moisture left in the fries here. The baristas were friendly and welcoming.

2 nd time stopping in and the last. 1st time stopped in I felt like I was being watched . I was waiting for my friend to order food. They are that desperate for you to order that they will come up to you and say that you have to order something or leave .I was looking at the menu when they said something to me ,I waited 20 min for my friend to arrive before ordering. It made me feel some kind of way about this place and very uncomfortable. 2nd time coming here to study I ordered a drink ,something Immediately so no one came up to me about ordering food or a drink. I ordered food after my friend arrived. My bagel was soft and warm ,my friend's bagel was burnt and hard.she went up to the desk to asked if they could make her a new one because it was Burnt ,and they told her no,she would have to repurchase (she had one bite) .the worker started arguing with her that it goes through the same belt and it will come out the same, but mine wasn't burnt on the edges and hard. So I walk over and ask can you please just make us a new one that's not burnt on the edges, they still said no and refused. At that point I was a little upset that they would treat customers like this after spending 40 dollars for coffee , bagels and fruit. I don't know if they are racist or this is just how they do business and how they treat customers, but I feel like everyone should know how they treat people that we eventually left because I was not going to allow us to be treated this way over a burnt bagel. Overall the vibe is cool, some of their employees are not. I do not recommend this place at all, I have never been treated so poorly at a coffee shop.it was honestly unreal.

The Rebel

I got the Rebel which was a super yummy sandwich that they added to the menu since the last time I went; I just ordered without the giardiniera. On the menu it didn't say it had cheese but mine came with cheese. I got a small hot mocha that I also liked, not too sweet just right. The atmosphere is really nice and since I last went they added more tables and chairs. A nice, chill, local cafe.

The place is small, but it has so much energy. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I really liked that I could watch them make the sandwich right in front of me. Seeing everything being made fresh just made me even more excited to dig in. I ordered the Nonna Marietta, an Italian breaded steak sandwich with mozzarella, hot peppers, and sweet peppers. The moment I unwrapped it, I just stopped for a second. It looked loaded. The bread was packed from end to end, the sauce was spilling out and I couldn't wait to take that first bite. The breaded steak was incredibly tender and ridiculously juicy, with a crispy coating that still held up under all the sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor. The mozzarella was perfectly melted, adding that creamy, stretchy bite that blended into the steak, while the hot peppers brought just enough heat to wake everything up. Then the sweet peppers balanced it all out with a little sweetness that kept the sandwich from feeling too heavy. The sauce tied everything together, soaking into the bread just enough without making it fall apart. It was messy, loaded with flavor, and exactly what I wanted. I'll definitely be coming back for another one.

Not sure if they switched owners, but I know the breaded steak they had before was no where close to this. It was an extra thin meat served in an oversized french bread with a couple pieces of sweet peppers. You can cleary see in the pictures. Charging $19 wouldn't be horrible, only if there were some meat in it. Improvement is a must!

My only regret is getting the 6-inch instead of the 12-inch because it was that good. Now, I did forget how tough a good hoagie can be to bite into, but honestly, that just made it feel even more real. The sandwich was fresh, filling, and worth every bite. The vibe inside was cool. I came in, they had some good music playing an alternative group from the '90s and I was greeted right away. The gentleman who took my order over the phone was pleasant, and the service felt welcoming. The price was decent, and there was parking when I went, but keep in mind I stopped by on a Tuesday after 4 p.m. The only thing I wish they had was more drink options besides soda, I wanted a water and there was none that I seen. Overall, I can't wait to go back. If the vegan sandwich was this good, I already know the other hoagies are probably killing it too. Bronzeville Hoagie and Panini definitely needs to be on your list.

This is a couple that goes around the city and suburbs tasting food and given their opinion on it. I was at the eye doctor and I had not eaten all day so when I saw this, I just simply said I'm on the way. I put some pictures here of the outside and the inside of the small but cozy restaurant. It was very nice. Music was playing. The young man behind the counter was extremely nice. It was clean and desirable. I also ended up ordering strawberry shortcake, which I will try later when I get home. I bought Italian beef to give to my husband. We will see how that is when I get there and I also ordered chili which I may eat when I go to work tomorrow unless I get the munchies tonight and finish to wrap this up. I think this place is a 10 out of 10 if you are reading this run don't walk and try their fresh sandwiches I'm still waiting to try the soup in which they didn't have any but hopefully when I return they will. Great job Bronzeville Hoagie and Panini. This place is a hit.

Food was ready promptly, the pricing of the food was very fair with a great portion size, and the staff was just as kind in person as they were on the phone. I ordered a gyro sandwich + a gyro plate. Solid gyro, fresh ingredients, and once again - very good portion size. All for around 25$, I also got some extra things like sauce + extra pita. Inside also very clean and somewhat spacious. Looking forward to coming back in the future.

Great neighborhood spot!…read more I met a group of friends for lunch in Bridgeport. Initially, we stopped at the Ramova theater, but they were only serving brunch, so we left since one of my friends wanted wings. We tried to go to Stussys Diner, but they were closed despite Google saying they were supposed to be open. We were standing in front of Stussys trying to figure out where to go when a stranger suggested George's Gyros. He also suggested Buffalo Wings & Rings but I'd been there before. That place is terrible, so I nixed that idea swiftly. By default, we ended up at George's, which turned out to be an excellent suggestion! There were six of us so we took one of the large tables by the window in the front of the restaurant. We took our time looking over the menu before heading to the register separately. We ordered everything from gyros and burgers to grilled cheese sandwiches and chicken sandwiches. The food was pretty good and incredibly reasonable in terms of price. The burger patties are very thin, but my friend said it was pretty good. My friend had the gyro plate, wings, & fries. She shared the food with her daughter. They both enjoyed everything. I had a grilled cheese sandwich and chicken rice soup. It's hard to screw up a grilled cheese so that was fine. The soup was much too watery and it didn't have much chicken. My sister had the grilled chicken sandwich. She said it was delicious. In fact, she raved about it so much that we all wished we'd ordered one instead. We had ice cream for dessert, which was fun. Overall, all the food was good. We all left satisfied. The stranger who suggested George's has good taste! The restaurant is clean and comfortable. It was fairly busy, but we were able to enjoy a leisurely lunch, which was great since our friend was visiting from London. The staff were all pleasant and helpful too. The menu prices were incredibly reasonable as well. I'd definitely return to George's in the future.

The sandwich was fresh, the chicken was seasoned well, and I especially liked the ratio of mayo, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Everything came together nicely, and I enjoyed the overall flavor.
