So delicious every single time and this time was no different. There's limited parking and you can either order inside or at the taco truck. There are areas to sit and wait for your order and tables to eat at. I ordered three al pastor tacos. There was a bit of a wait but it was worth it. So good as always. I literally scarfed my tacos down with salsa and grilled onions. My friend ordered a carne asada burrito which he said was super filling and the perfect amount of food. While I'm in town, I'll be here whenever I crave tacos.

After a music concert my group was hungry and my best friend suggested this place as it was relatively close to his home. I ordered a Pork belly Quesadilla and a Carne Asada Burrito for my lady and I was insanely surprised. I never seen pork belly offered so I figured I'd give it a try. It wasn't too bad but the carne asada tasted so savory and so different and delicious compared to other places. For the price we paid too I think this place is hard to beat. Definitely a "must-try" place in my opinion.

I also liked that they give you grilled onions and lime on the side. We also tried the quesadillas, which were huge and had a really good serving size. We got a strawberry agua fresca and horchata as well, and both were good. Our group of six spent around $80 altogether, which I thought was pretty reasonable considering the portions and the amount of food we got. The food came out quickly too. After we ordered, I'd say it took 10 minutes or less, so we really didn't have to wait long. My only suggestion would be more seating. There were only about two tables when we went, and if other people are already sitting there, it can feel a little awkward having to share a table with people you don't know. I definitely think there's room for improvement there. Overall, for trying this place completely blind, I was really impressed. The tacos were good, the portions were generous, the food came out fast, and the price felt fair for our group. I'd definitely come back!

I guess the game was being played here in the Bay area somewhere so it was kind of like a party. i'll definitely be back. When I saw it, I was like "damn that's big" lol! He finished the whole thing and I know he loved it because we barely spoke to each other during dinner. The Cali fries were also good! Fries were crispy and all the flavors came through for this! My hubby and I love orange sauce whenever we get Mexican food. Their orange sauce has a pretty good kick to it, but personally I like La Vic's orange sauce a bit better. But I do like a bit of spice added to my food so I added it to my crispy tacos and fries! We came on a Friday evening around 6ish and the restaurant looked busy. But we were able to sit as soon as we were greeted. The menu is pretty big and can be overwhelming, but I highly recommend the crispy tacos. I've gone here a couple of times already and I always order them when I come here! Location is a bit tough because it's in DTSJ. Not in the best area in my opinion. Lots of suspicious people walking around lol. Food is 4.5/5 stars Service is okay. I think it's hit or miss on who your server is. Our server tonight did not ask us what we wanted to drink so my husband had to get the water himself :( I overheard other servers asking what their customers wanted to drink or if they'd like a horchata or agua fresca. A bit bummed out about our server not asking us what we wanted to drink. Whenever my hubby and I end up dining it at a restaurant, I expect better service with the bare minimum of asking what the customers wanted to drink. After finishing up our meal, we asked for the check. But it kind of rubbed me the wrong way that she was hovering over the machine waiting to see what we were going to tip? We always at least tip 15% when we dine out. But this felt like a pressured 15% tip. Unfortunately, the service today contributed to the lower ranking for Cali Spartan.

There's a salsa bar with about 3-4 different sauces, radishes, lemons, onions, and cilantro so you can customize your tacos how you want. There are about 3 foldable tables that seat around 6 people each. Onto the food. None of the meats were dry. I tried the cabeza, lengua, tripa and pastor. The cabeza and lengua were both super juicy and flavorful and the soft, possibly homemade tortilla soaked up a lot of the juices which was great. I tend to like a crispier tortilla but I've got no complaints here. The cabeza and lengua were super tender and with all the condiments and toppings, excellent. The tripa was a pleasant surprise because although it didn't look as fried, it still had that desirable crunch and chew that I like rather than it just being chewy. The pastor came with pineapple and although it was good, I think I liked the other meats better. Overall, excellent place to get late night tacos and I'll be back. Go check them out!

I had been hesitant to order from this restaurant in the first place, but decided to give it a…read morechance, and unfortunately every item I received was either inedible or raised significant concerns about sanitation and food handling. I had a very concerning experience with my order and would like to request a full refund if possible. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and unfortunately, the entire experience raised serious concerns about food quality, cleanliness, and possible cross-contamination. I ordered a quesadilla, and from the first bite, something seemed seriously wrong. The tortilla and filling had an overwhelming burnt, extremely charcoal-like aftertaste that made the food taste as though it had been prepared on an extremely dirty or poorly maintained cooking surface. This was not simply a matter of the food being slightly overcooked or having a burnt grill taste the taste was unsanitary and unpleasant. The meat was also excessively fatty and of such poor grade quality that I could barely tolerate the texture or taste. I am generally not someone who complains about meat quality, but the combination of the questionable meat and the strong, dirty taste of the cooking surface made the quesadilla completely inedible. Now here's the more upsetting part: I also ordered two carne asada tacos, but instead received three tacos, including one containing what appeared to be pork intestines or another type of miscellaneous meat that I absolutely did not order. I do not eat pork, and the texture of this meat was slimy and the smell of it was extremely unpleasant. More concerningly, the meat appeared to have come into contact with the carne asada tacos as well. I unfortunately did not inspect the order before taking a bite, so I accidentally bit into the taco containing the unidentified meat. I was immediately nauseated and genuinely felt like I was going to vomit. I attempted to eat the carne asada tacos afterward, but I could taste what appeared to be the same miscellaneous meat mixed into them. I noticed that the tortillas themselves had the same strong burnt, charcoal-like flavor as the quesadilla, which further contributed to my concerns about the cleanliness and condition of the cooking surface. Because the unidentified meat appeared to have contaminated or mixed with the food I actually ordered, I ultimately could not eat any of the tacos. The horchata was another major concern. It had an unusually unpleasant taste that I have never experienced from horchata before. It tasted stale and potentially contaminated, almost as though something unsanitary had come into contact with it. I cannot say exactly what caused the taste, but it was sufficiently abnormal that I did not feel comfortable drinking it. Ultimately, I ate only approximately one bite of the quesadilla and a single bite of each type of taco before throwing the food away. Shortly afterward, my stomach was already growling and I felt extremely uncomfortable. This was not simply a matter of the food not matching my personal taste. I am concerned about the apparent lack of cleanliness, the burnt/dirty taste throughout the food, the unidentified meat being included in an order where it was not requested, and the apparent cross-contact between that meat and the carne asada I ordered. I would strongly encourage the restaurant to review its food-preparation, cooking-surface sanitation, ingredient handling, and order-assembly procedures. I am pretty upset that I ate something I didn't order and have no idea what it is. Given that I was unable to safely or reasonably consume essentially any of my order, I would appreciate a full refund.
