I think I'm done with any of these locations. First, they have pumpkin cheesecake, but you can't buy just a slice. Other bakeries offer slices, so I don't get why this place doesn't. So we settled for a pumpkin tart. It was not fresh. The pumpkin flavor was excellent and tasty, but the dome portion of the pastry was still frozen as it crunched and was freezing when I bit it. The base was chewy and lacked flavor. The chocolate chip cookies were good... just a typical cookie. read more

Guy at the counter - not the friendliest . Not too sure if something is wrong with IT, but everytime we'd try to put in an order he'd get snippy and say, "hold on!" Dude.. decaf capp, single espresso, croissant, and key lime torte. That's just four things... but it was his tone that was unsettling. Dirty tables everywhere. At the whole place, there were like 4 occupied tables, the rest was all filthy except for the one by the door which we snagged. It starting smoking in there and became hazy I thought I had blinked my contacts out. Then at one point it reaked of microwaved fish which permeated through our jackets and then stenched up my car which I aired out eventually. I think they reversed our drinks because my friend was wired and I became sleepier haha. They also only have plain granulated sugar and substitutes. No In the Raw turbinado. read more

I stopped by here a couple of Sundays ago with my wife and our twins for our morning coffee. Every Sunday morning we try to hit up a new local coffee shop and on this morning we decided to go to Bertram House Bakery. This bakery is located inside a strip mall off of 19. On the morning that we were there it was a dreary day and I couldn't even tell it was open until we opened the doors. The inside of this bakery is nice with plenty of seating and lots of display spaces for their baked goods. After looking around I chose to go with a bear claw while my wife went with a croissant and our kids each chose a macaron. Then for my coffee I went with a large latte while my wife went with the caramel macchiato. The lady who was helping us here was awesome and really helped to make our visit much better than it would have been without her. My bear claw from here ended up being terrific as the puff pastry was super flaky and the filling was fantastic. Similarly, my wife also really enjoyed her croissant and my kids their macarons. However, Bartram House fell flat on their coffees. I can say that this was easily the worst coffee I have had in a while. It's not that the coffee itself was bad but I literally couldn't taste it and whenever I asked my wife to try mine she let me know that it tasted like drinking steamed milk. Hers was better because of the caramel flavoring but we still couldn't taste any coffee. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again for pastries but would definitely pass on the coffee. While the pastries themselves deserved a 4 rating and the customer service a 5, the coffee really dragged things down here. read more

I'm not sure what happened. I'm so disappointed. The lady at the counter was the best part of the experience. I ordered a cinnamon roll and a scone. Was going to have the scone later. The roll ripped like paper, barely chewable. The scone was actually salty and dry. There were maybe 6 cranberries in the whole scone. What happened? Let me start by saying the ambiance is great. It feels like a bakery with a beautiful display. There is a pretty good amount of seating as well. The service wasn't the best. The woman who took our order was eating food while doing so. I understand that shifts are long and therefore don't care if employees eat during their shift; however, I don't really appreciate it while taking our order. Additionally, my cousin explained she can't consume dairy when ordering for help and end up getting the home fries as her side. When they were delivered to the table, she double checked with the food runner that they were ok and was informed that the potatoes were cooking in butter. All this to say, she didn't get a side. Also, one of our sides was put in wrong, so we had to send that back to get the correct one. The food was definitely not note worthy. My steak omelet was dry and the "steak" is like a step above hamburger meat. Don't get that as your protein!! The breakfast burrito had the opposite problem. As you can see in the photo, it was very wet and left a grease puddle. We did order a chai tea that was great, so there's that!! I won't be returning anytime soon which is very disappointing since I have such fond memories of breakfast here when I was younger. I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Came here for lunch and the staff were very friendly. The peoperjack grilled chicken wrap had a sauce on it. That was a bit too sweet and heavy handed. It overpowered the savoriness of the pepperjack cheese.that I was expecting. The Mac and cheese was good. My girlfriend's Cuban looked great and tasted better than my wrap. We got big goods afterwards, but I didn't find out until I got home that might be good. Order was mixed up and I got two of an item when I only ordered one and was missing something I ordered. I probably wouldn't get my sandwich again, but we definitely come back to try more of the menu and more of the baked goods. read more

Food is not always fresh, omelets are greasy, drink options are very limited and not good, crab cake sandwiches have nothing but crab cakes on them and are extremely salty. I was in the area and needed a baked goods fix. The location is excellent and lots of parking. The store is very nice and clean. The staff where super friendly and very helpful. I ordered a chocolate croissant and a cheese bear claw. IT is a tough call which is better as they both where fantastic. I would definitely go back again when in the area. read more

Had the breakfast sandwich which was on a nice flaky croissant, fried egg was overcooked and bacon was good. Problem was it was $12.75 and no bigger than any other establishments breakfast sandwich. Coffee was almost see through. Weakest I've had maybe ever. The pastries looked good but on the high end pricey. Went here for the crepes and they were ice cold. For $15, they were microscopic. The French Toast sticks at Sheetz are larger and more filling. They did bring the crepes to the table, which was a nice touch. I liked the dark, quiet ambiance. I've had the pastries here in the past which have been hit and miss, and the drinks here always taste burnt. The food at the Cranberry location seems better. read more

My daughter returned home from a weekend trip and brought Danishes from Bartram House Bakery in Wexford. I've heard of Bartram House Bakery I just don't think I've ever had anything from them. The Danish was huge (think saucer size), flaky and not overly sweet. There was a nice smudge of cream cheese and a nice number of sliced strawberries. I was pleasantly surprised with the Danish overall, there was a nice chewiness to the pastry and the sweetened cream cheese added just enough sweetness to the pastry. The slices of fresh strawberries were so nice and fresh, not old and dried out. As a treat the Danish was perfect, definitely something that would go great with coffee or as a dessert. read more

Waited 50 minutes for two to go breakfast burritos. Watched as everyone got served around me and the gentleman working here kept passing my table and made some jokes about how the owner hates when people bring in Starbucks. When I checked on my order - which was $35 - they said oops we forgot to make it. You didn't notice I was sitting at an empty table in a slow restaurant with a number in front of me and no food? You had time to make jokes but not pick up on the customer not receiving their order for an hour? They Didn't offer to comp my meal but instead "make it on the fly" (lovely) and I threw in a few pasties. There's a reason people go to Starbucks - it's because they don't make you wait an hour for breakfast . The food here is good, but didn't appreciate how this was handled. The woman who took my order was very stressed out. My husband ordered a latte with oat milk, and I was observing her while getting my coffee. She poured whole milk into the container and I questioned her about it. She told me that drink was for someone else, although it sat by the side of the coffee machine and was never given to anyone else. Although he does not have an allergy, he does have lactose intolerance. She would have given him the drink if I had not called her out on it. Now while I'm waiting for his beverage, another customer informed the woman that the self-serve dispenser was out of water. She told the customer that they just get the water from the kitchen tap, so she could get water from the bathroom if she wanted. I found her behavior very unsettling and unprofessional. read more

The quality of food and the service has gone tremendously downhill. After waiting for 30 minutes, we found out that the cashier hadn't sent our ticket to the kitchen. Wish I had taken pictures...one could order a better wrap from the local high school cafeteria, and the chocolate chip pancakes were a gloppy mess. We ordered a strawberry cheesecake, pepperoni roll to take home. We also ordered the following breakfast: Blueberry pancakes either a side of bacon and the filets eggs Benedict. To the review now, my glass of water needed to be returned, as the shade of lipstick is not one I nor my wife wears. I'm sure it could had rubbed off when the lady who took our order decided to "smell" the lemon in my water. After this, our food arrived. The pancakes missing the blueberries, and the icing on the cake, multiple hairs on my wife's plate. This was the final straw, I asked the server to take it back we didn't want it. We he remedy, they took the plate to the back, removed the hairs from the late and then brought the EXACT SAME plate out (minus an orange peel.) The lady, a manager from another location, couldn't stop telling me about how she shouldn't be there because she just had her eyes done. For us, this was a 3 strikes and we're out visit. read more

I love the service at the Wexford Bartram. I've been to this location a few times just to sit with my laptop. They are a little understaff during these times but they do make it work. I also appreciate that I have sat and watched them go through and clean the restaurant (not just spot clean). In the age of COVID it is throughly appreciated that they're not making light of things. I wish I could tip them more. Their machine systems doesn't allow you to tip on the card and they only accept cash tips. I don't really like that and it takes away from the workers that deserve a Lil something extra. The BBQ pulled pork has been my go-to. I love the cheesecakes and macaroons. Try the salted Carmel ones when you get a chance read more

AWESOME PASTRIES & BRUNCH! Bartram is one of those gems I tend to forget about and haven't visited in a while but I'm never disappointed when I do! Took a good friend to brunch there this morning and we both agreed we should do it more often. The atmosphere is casual but nice, the food is great, and the pastries are to die for! I ordered the Florentine Eggs Benedict, my friend got a made to order breakfast sandwich, and we split a pecan roll - YUM! My only criticism was that the coffee had been sitting out for a while and was cold so we needed asked them to make a new pot which wasn't a big deal, and I could have used a little more salt on my eggs Benedict dish to really being out the flavors. Sitting consists of simple tables and chairs, along with a small patio area. The cons: plated meals are cooked on demand and in turn, take a decent amount of time to get to the table. Bartram House Bakery apparently has four locations, but I did not discover this business until just today. Their menus consist of breakfast items, cafe specialities such as sandwiches and salads, cakes, other desserts such as cookies, and beverages. I bought the apple strudel, which tasted good but had slightly hard apples, and a chocolate-covered peanut butter chunk, which tasted really good and was topped with what I think is a pretty-looking cape gooseberry. As for the service, the employees said hello and thank you, and I did not have to wait long for them to ring up and box my desserts. The prices were about $10 or more for sandwiches and salads and were up to several dollars per dessert item. After this COVID-19 pandemic eases up, I plan to return here with friends to sit at their little tables and munch on their other menu items. They also offer catering. read more

Their danish is one of the best I've ever had. It's on a crispy croissant-like dough and a wonderful cream cheese and fresh fruit highly recommend the strawberry one. It was not too sweet whatsoever. The muffins, cinnamon bun, etc are great. The sandwiches were mediocre at best while being priced at $12+. The Philly cheesesteak sandwich was simply not a Philly cheesesteak and would have been better labeled as just a steak sandwich which my partner described as "shredded chunks of steak". I ordered the pepper jack chicken wrap. Do not order this. The cheese sauce and chicken are lacking flavor. I did not even finish it. read more

Cleanliness, cleanliness! Even in non-COVID times, the lack of attention to cleanliness would be unacceptable, but now? Yikes. I had to stand outside and wait for people to leave, then I had to continue to stand outside and wait for someone to clean it (10 minutes!).... and I use the word "clean" lightly. The young (nice) man came out, took a rag out of his back pocket, swiped a table nearby, swiped the one I was standing by, then proceeded to "clean" other ones. I can't believe it! No care/attention to actually CLEANING, let alone sanitizing it! There was absolutely NO sanitizing happening here!!! In addition, the young woman with the glasses working at the counter was unfriendly and uninformed: we ordered a kid's Mac n cheese, she said there was none, and the guy next to her said, "no, we have it." HOWEVER. The food! Thank goodness the food saves this experience! I ordered the Mediterranean Salmon salad, and it was delectable. The salmon was cooked perfectly with a just-right crunchy exterior, and the artichoke hearts! I could write an entire page on the loveliness of the artichoke hearts. My mother-in-law had the strawberry walnut salad and had zero complaints there: every element of her salad was perfect. As a mom, I really liked that the kids meals come with apple slices, not chips/fries. I would recommend this place to others so long as they are not COVID wary or uncomfortable with lax sanitation.
