According to the business's website, the owner-baker finds ideas for bread recipes in the books that she reads. She sells her breads through her website and at a few physical locations such as this store in Mars. Please note that the entrance to this store is on the *side* of the Baumgartel Professional Building. To find the entrance to the store, follow the yellow and orange footprints on the sidewalk. When I walked up to the store, a sign on the door said that the store was "closed." However, I assumed that an employee simply forgot to turn the sign around, so I opened and entered the door. The employee greeted me and asked if I needed any assistance. The store was small but contained many unique flavors of breads. I also saw other foods such as maple syrup and chip crisps, some paperback books, and some decor such as dolls. I selected six flavors of breads, and the total price was $35.50. Because my purchase was over $10, I could pay with a credit card. The "Milk Buds" bread contains ingredients such as tangzhong and sourdough starters and whole milk. The "Gentleman's Black Bread" is a pumpernickel rye that contains ingredients such as black cocoa powder and molasses. The "Roasted Garlic Bread" is made from local whole-wheat, buckwheat, rye flours, etc. The "Chocolate Babka" bread contains chocolate ganache, etc. The "Roasted Orange Martini Bread" contains whole wheat, candied orange rind, blood orange evoo, honey, etc. The "Pesto Italiano" contains spicy pesto olive oil, etc. All of these breads were very fresh and had very distinct flavors that I enjoy. I will try my best to eat all six loaves this week before they get moldy! Be sure to visit the business's website to see their additional flavors of breads.

Bella Christie's bakers and pastry chefs make cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and pastries. They even make custom cakes and event tables for weddings, birthdays, and other special events. Cakes are available in about a dozen flavors (e.g., vanilla, chocolate, banana, and hazelnut) with about a few dozen flavors of fillings (e.g., almond custard, mango mousse, raspberry jam, peach compote, espresso buttercream, and fruit). When I entered this business, I saw two display cases that were full of macarons, cheesecakes, mini cupcakes, cupcakes, cookies, and brownies. An employee immediately and kindly greeted me. As I was selecting my desserts, the employee carefully bagged and boxed them. She accurately rang up my purchase, and she thanked me. Here are my reviews for the desserts: Strawberry milkshake cookie - $2.75 - 4.5 stars - This cookie looked the prettiest in the display and had the most unique-sounding flavor. It was pink and had sprinkles and white chips mixed in. The cookie was a large size, and it was fresh and moist. I liked the strawberry flavor. Strawberry milkshake cupcake - $4.25 - 4.5 stars - Can you tell that I like strawberry milkshakes? :) This cupcake was a good size, and it consisted of moist pink cake that had strawberry pieces mixed in. It was topped with fresh, creamy strawberry and white icing with sprinkles. On top was a paper straw, and I put it in my mouth because I had assumed that it was white chocolate--oops! Lemon blueberry cupcake - $4.25 - 4.5 stars - This cupcake was also a good size. The cake was lemon yellow with a few blueberries mixed in. On top was a blueberry-flavored buttercream icing that was topped with two fresh blueberries and a lemon gummy. I enjoyed these flavors. Turtle cheesecake - $4.50 - No rating - My husband ate this cheesecake. He said, "It was fine." One additional thing that I noticed was that the plastic tray that held the cupcakes was type 6 plastic, which is not recyclable in our community. I wonder if the owners could explore other options for the tray.
