Arrived on time as scheduled. Courteous and friendly tech fixed what we thought could be a major repair in less than 30 minutes.

James did a great job of fixing my really old genie door opener, I was sure he would say that it needed to be replaced but he was able to fix it and at a very reasonable price.

Garage Guy came out to look at my damaged garage door. He took a very quick look -- literally a few…read moreseconds -- didn't measure anything, didn't explain anything, and then left. A couple hours later, he texted me a quote for $2,000 for the absolute most basic, non-insulated steel door. After getting multiple other quotes, it was obvious how inflated that price was. Every other company came in hundreds of dollars cheaper for the exact same job, with real explanations and written estimates that actually broke down what I'd be paying for. What really bothered me was the way the whole interaction felt. No details, no transparency, and no willingness to walk me through the pricing. As a woman handling a home repair alone, the approach came across as rushed, dismissive, and like he assumed I wouldn't question the number he eventually texted over. I wouldn't recommend Garage Guy based on this experience. There are other local companies who offer clear communication, fair pricing, and professional treatment -- this wasn't one of them. Hi Andrew, Thank you for responding to my Yelp review. I want to clarify a few points to make sure the situation is accurately represented. First, I did not request a carriage-house door. My existing garage door is a standard raised-panel steel door with a row of rectangular windows, and that is the style I asked about replacing. At no point did I mention or request a decorative or carriage-house style. Second, your quote of $2,000 for a non-insulated door was significantly higher than the estimates I received from other reputable companies for the exact same type of replacement. Their quotes ranged between $1,250-$1,550, which is why your price was concerning. Third, regarding the visit: I assumed the technician may have measured the door from the outside before knocking, but if he did, it was extremely fast. It took me less than five minutes to let my dogs outside before I opened the door for him, so the entire assessment from arrival to departure was very brief. No measurements were taken in my presence, no options were discussed, and no information about door types or warranties was provided. He told me he would send something over in 20-30 minutes, and the only thing I received was a short text message hours later with the $2,000 price. When I asked for a detailed written quote, he said he had sent it and would send it again, but I never received anything further. My review reflects the quoting and communication experience, which is a valid aspect of customer service. Transparency, clear pricing, and follow-through matter, and I stand by what I shared.

This is a very big deal because I'm very impatient and hate having something not working. First visit was because I backed into my garage by accident (thinking it was open lol ) they repaired in in less than 15 minutes and I thought I would need a new door and expecting to pay thousands but they fixed for pennys on the dollar ! Compared to a new door! And it was lighting fast and extremely professional and courteous. Second call was about 1-2 years later my garage opener motor went out they came installed a new one which works amazing even has a camera !! And you can open it from blocks away !!! In case you are wondering it's a MyQ chamberlain overhead ultra quiet ! Anyhow he installed in less than an hour !!! And Amazing job even programmed an outside door panel for me which the new ones use different tech 3.0 vs old tech and this third visit they showed up on time they alert you via text when they are on their way super attentive exactly what I look for when it aimed to any service call or appointments. They switched out my old spring 19 years old that popped due to use and time. They installed a new 2 spring system that looks better and they were finished in less than 15 minutes !!!!!! Yes 2 guys showed up this time but damn they knew what they were doing !! I extremely recommend these guys !!! a lot of us don't even think twice to leave somebody a bad review, but it's good reviews that need to be the focus now nowadays!! thank you so much Matthew for your assistance and I highly recommend you guys!!!

When that atmospheric river of 2022 hit, so did a big tree into the roof of our cabin. It snowed,…read moreit rained, again and again. First floor was rotten with mold by the time we got to get in and see it. After searching for licensed GC, we finally found Scott and Mary of Craftsman Home Improvements. After contacting via yelp, Scott promptly came out and assessed all of the damages once water & mold mitigation was done and quickly helped us pull together a rebuild plan for our first floor. Mary was instrumental in helping visualize different plans, finishes, cost breakdowns, and insurance estimates. Scott was dedicated beyond our expectations. Quick to collaborate with us and develop the project with us, not for us. Drywall & Texture: Was the drywall install super tight and accurate, with invisible joints, yes. Was the skip trowel finish immaculate and thoughtfully executed, yes. New Bath: Was the entire new bath installation customized to fit odd dimensions, yes, new shower install, beautiful, new fan setup, wonderful. New Floors/Moldings: How about the new floors? Was the subfloor floated to level out a horrible shift, absolutely. Was the laminate install done with every attention to detail, yes. Were we consulted about wood directions/aesthetics, etc along the way, yes. Was the fitting of baseboards immaculate, you bet. New Doors/Windows: How about those new doors and windows? Beautiful joining work for the framing, yes. Doors all perfectly balanced, absolutely. Windows sealed up tight, air tight. Scott had to address every old frame to bring into a standard and the work was amazing. New Stairs: Each new wood riser and stair was a custom cut. These are now a showcase to the house. Custom Closets: Each closet on the first floor was a custom designed space made from pine. Scott was able to build out exactly what we needed. Working with Scott and Mary was seamless. Scott has a great sense of humor and Mary was so helpful in finding/sourcing materials for us. We are looking forward to a deck job with them in the future.

Mary I can only put so many words in. let me say this , I…read moretold Scott about the texture the day he said finish. I then contacted Scott within a week to let him know there is no texture in places on ceiling. and it didn't match. Scott did come look at it. I didn't wait 9 mo. to notify Scott of the issues. Scott knew this from the very day he painted the ceiling. If he don't tell you what's happening that is not our fault. You-say contract doesn't have insulation in it. I have your quote and contract that says otherwise. Your contract says guarantee work for a year. Our home has been in disarray for 9 months. And you didn't come in till March. We are having a General come give an estimate on ceiling. For texture knock down, paint. If in fact the job was done correctly why would you Mary sign a check made out to Randall? it's because Scott can't do the texture nor does he want to try. He told Randall he don't do much texture work. I let Scott know he can buy a texture spray machine for 70-80 bucks from Lowe's. Which you would think any general contractor would have one since they advertise drywall..and been in business 20 years. The can of texture he bought I believe 3-4 cans of them would have paid for texture sprayer. Now that addressed downstairs. Let's address upstairs. In the kitchen. We didn't remove any more cabinets from where the water damage was. they were removed before Scott came and looked at job. His helper Brian cut multiple sheets of subfloor to wrong size. Instead of Scott going and doing the cut he had him ( Brian ) cut again. and it was still wrong. There was a 1/8 inch lip on the subfloor that Scott and Brian put in. Randall had to fix this before flooring went down. Once he removed the subfloor he found why it had a lip . The debris from putting in the floor was left underneath the place they removed and replaced. It was a good thing the mess was left. Randall found that the blocks that attracted to joists were not connected on both sides. he had to repair the incomplete structure. Randall also found there was no insulation put back in the walls. The exterior walls get insulated. Then of course we can move on to the drywall/Sheetrock where that was not measured properly so it was short. once again Scott let Brian do the cutting. We just really thought you would care about the workmanship done in clients home. Us the client.. I'm sure that 1/2 inch space between each Sheetrock that leaves an opening is not done correctly. The pictures I posted was only of the work Scott and Brian did in kitchen. That took one man 8 hours to complete and do job correctly. And you will be back charged for the T&M (Time and Materials.) After seeing the work being done is another reason we decided not to have any further work done by your company, and had to change contract. If you remember you gave us a bid for the removal of rock in front room. And there was removal of flooring and we were going to have Scott install cabinets. As you put on the bill that install sink garbage disposal dishwasher. None of that work was done the drywall was never textured in the kitchen. So please tell me how you would consider this job completed. We did pay for all this. So where is the money for a job not completed. I will attach the contract to this in a bit. Along with the payments made to you. I'm not telling half the Story Mary, Maybe it's the one who works under your wing. Best Kim
