Great neighborhood convenience store. Has a huge variety of things so you don't have to go to Safeway. Everything is always fresh, prices reasonable, & the family that owns it are very sweet, hard working ppl. I haven't tried the deli yet, but my neighbors love it. Just a wonderful store! I stopped by for emergency supplies that we forgot to pack. I asked the guy if they had tick repellent, and he said NO. I looked around for a bit and found some, so I made sure to let him know in case anyone asked. He just shrugged like whatever. Other than that, this is a great place and they open very late! Decent grocery store located down the street from where we were staying in Monte Rio. They had all your basic supplies, so we were able to stock up on some toiletries we had left back at home. They also have some coffee and snacks that you can take with you on the road. The prices are pretty good as well. It was super convenient to be able to stop in. read more

4/19/20 2:30 pm went into store to pick up groceries. clerk was not wearing a mask while he was coughing and sneezing. I asked him why he was not wearing a mask when he had symptoms of covid, ie cough, runny nose, sneezing. he said it was allergies but could not be sure. went on to "reassure" me by adding that he was only at risk if someone came into store who did not have mask. WHAT? then he realized his stupidity and added that he was aware that wearing masks is to protect others as well as yourself. even after thirty years of nursing, I am still amazed at the batcrap logic some folks have regarding infectious diseases. wear a mask or close!!! read more

I can find almost everything I need at Bartlett's. When I come up to the River I don't even stop before I get here for my basics. My favorites are the Petaluma cheeses and meats. The custom deli sandwiches are the bomb. I love that they carry bulk Thanksgiving coffee. I wanted to make a pie and they even had crusts and frozen berries. Extensive wine and beer selection too. I have enjoyed getting to know the family that owns/manages it over the years and the people that have worked for them are consistent and nice. Bad Bartlett's! Bought a bottle of 18.99 red wine to have with dinner. The cork broke and the wine was vinegar. Took it back and they refused to replace it. We didn't want our money back, just to swap it out. It was clearly corked. Cashier refused. Said it was illegal to exchange liquor? I think not. Bummer. We had spent 200 bucks there over the long weekend we just spent up here. Won't shop there again. Bummer. read more

Fairer than normal prices for a small market in the middle of nowhere. Very good variety for a small market too. If you don't need to buy fresh meat this is a way better choice that Safeway in Guerneville which is a complete nightmare. read more

Bartlett's is a trip back in time to the 50's with a small town market that has a bit of everything. All is good, it costs a bit more, and it is a good deal when you consider travel time and convenience. They are real down home here and polite and kind. Their hours of operation are convenient. They have everything that large grocery stores have, only at a higher price. But, it is the deli that is the special spot in Monte Rio. This market is at the ideal location for people going to the river or camping nearby. They have all the basics for a simple picnic by the river or ices & wood for your campsite. We stopped here several times because the location was on the way in or out of where ever we were going. read more

I stopped at this market to get a sandwich in the middle of an 87 mile bike ride. The service and the sandwich were excellent. The staff was very pleasant and friendly and provided me with suggestions of lovely places to visit and eat my lunch. I recommend a stop at this market which is located in a beautiful area on the Russian River. read more

Stopped here to pick up some groceries since we didn't have time on the say up. I have to say that it lacked on being a "fully stocked" grocery store. Granted I know it's not like we're near a big Safeway, but trying to find food for a respectable dinner was lacking. Their produce was close to nonexistant as was their fresh meat and deli (which was closed). So we ended up with no salad/veggies and packaged lunch meat. The one redeeming item that we did get which was revealed to us at checkout was this nice grade of ground beef from a local meat store. Now that was some good beef! Had we known Guernville was only minutes away I think we would have stopped there instead. read more
