A decent sized shop that was chock full of vintage goodies, from lamps and toys, to vintage vinyl and CD's The woman who was helping us was beyond friendly, and also quite knowledgable on the items she had. This little general store in Duncan's Mills is certainly an adored cornerstone of this little tucked away community. The staff is kind, generous and always willing to help. They have a fantastic array of beers with many local choices as well as a large wine selection. They also have a great selection of local treats from smaller businesses like honey, cookies and different types of delicious bread. The freezer section is surprisingly good especially for this little store being located so far away from a large city. They also carry undoubtedly one of the best local meat companies Panizzera, so do yourself a favor and get some spicy Italian sausage. If you're feeling hungry when you're in the area then it might be wise to get a delicious Sando from the Deli. The Reuben is top notch in my opinion. This place has a great energy to it and it's generally a pretty fun place to walk around while you get a delicious Sando. The merchandise they have for sale is also pretty good, the shirts and hats are good quality and definitely worth it if you're into supporting this local market. read more

Staff was friendly and helpful in guiding us to the only available restroom (behind yellow building). I ordered a turkey sandwich on a large sourdough roll, while my bf ordered a pastrami on sourdough sliced bread. We were able to choose our own toppings. Both sandwiches were tasty and filling. Amazing made-to-order sandwiches!! We were staying in a cabin in Cazadero and stopped by a few times on our way to Goat Rock Beach and ordered the turkey sandwich. They were so delicious and fresh that we ordered three more times that week. My wife fell in love with the wine selection. They had some reds from Wild Hog Vineyard in The hills of Cazadero, and my wife bought about five bottles to bring home. It's definitely a must-stop if you are vacationing in the area. We got a Turkey and Swiss, hot (for which they charge extra). I'm sure she tried her best, but the sandwich was barely warm, lukewarm and tepid. Still, the shop has absolutely everything you need from sundries to drinks to produce to snacks. I am so grateful for this store. Not only do they have over 60 craft beers available, they have a great variety of wine as well. These guys carry my favorite beer: Drake's Denogginizer. They also carry Pliny (limit 2 per customer) Today Zach made me the best sandwich in West County! A delicious Turkey on a dutch crunch with cranberry. As pineapple goes on pizza, cranberry must go on the Turkey sandwich. He really can make one darn good sammich. There is a great meat case here with vacuum packed local meat for all of your BBQing needs. Literally a whole fridge full. There are beef bones for your dogs too. It doesnt stop there - the even bake their own cookies which are mighty tasty. And they smoked their meats in house with the smoker out front. Even though they are a small local business off the beaten path, their prices are very reasonable and right where they should be. Best sandwiches bar none. It is a required stop in our way to the gorgeous coast. This last experience almost made me lose my faith in humanity. But the ladies that were working handled the vile group with grace and reminded me that there are good people in the world. If you are coming out to the coast to get away, remember where you are. The medical facilities are few and far between for these communities. Respect that. Wear your damn mask. Don't pitch a fit when essential workers ask you to do so. Be polite. Wash your hands. i took a look at other post . THE STORE IS OPEN AND WOW !!!!. The young family that is operating the store are fantastic. The store is packed with new items including local grass fed beef,pork locally raised,wine from local,fresh bread from the the bakery across the way . the deli is well stocked and clean and they have added slow cooked (Barbecue) . I had the pork ribs (yum yum) tri tip and chicken are also prepared. The combinations of ribs,fresh bread and the wine i purchased (wild hog zin 2009) was a hearty start to a great dinner . After doing a little browsing around the shops in Duncans Mills, husband and I got thirsty. "Oh look! There's a general store!" We walk over anticipating a charming general store filled with goodies and local kitschy stuff, as many general stores are. However, what we found was a dreary little store that quite dark inside, musty smelling, and with very little to choose from. Empty shelves with one loaf of bread here, a can of peas on table, a packet of hostess cupcakes there. There seemed to be only one of everthing, and I wasnt sure how fresh things were...so we turned around and left without buying anything. There were four of us ordering sandwiches to eat on the beach and each one of us had a sandwich a little different from each other and we couldn't decide who had the best ones. Personally I think I did. They smoke their own turkey and it was the best smoked turkey I've ever had. The sandwich was huge the turkey slices was easily to in thick. It's been quite a while since the last time I was literally insulted and treated just about as rudely you can get. My friend and I stopped for a while. my lady friend bought a couple of items at the very nice gift shop next to Cape Fear. She then wanted a cup of coffee, we made the mistake of stepping into this establishment When my friend asked for a cup of coffee, the clerk looks at the coffee pot and says oh there's not much left in the pot, you might want to go across the street, there's a very nice coffee and pastry shop. there was salmon being smoked and I inquired about a bagel and smoked salmon, she looks at me and says we have no bagels, there's a salmon sandwich, but it's 15.00 dollars. I guess she decided I couldn't afford 15.00. I had just completed a wonderful 9 night stay at a cabin in Cazadero. I won't be coming back to the general store read more
