I originally didn't plan on changing the diff fluid, but Rei recommended doing it while the car was already there and explained why it was a good idea. I'm glad I went ahead with it. They also took the time to inspect my front struts while the car was there and let me know they're starting to go and should be replaced soon. I appreciated them pointing that out and explaining it instead of just ignoring it. Their pricing was fair too, especially after getting quotes from a couple other places. The whole process was smooth and the car honestly feels better driving now. Definitely a shop I'd come back to and would recommend if you need work done on your car.

Our parking brake would not disengage. We had it towed to FTD and they charged us just under $1,000…read moreto disengage it. They later told us they'd cut the brake line(s) and had to order new parts to fix the parking brake release. Then they text us a video of the back suspension of our vehicle moving super loosely BECAUSE THEY'D CUT THE BRAKE LINES, but tried to 'sell' us on replacing the entire brake system because it was too loose to be safely driven. We lost IMMEDIATE respect for them when they first quoted us just under $1,000 to disengage the parking brake, so we told them we wanted them to do NOTHING else. Then, after we picked up the vehicle, Christina had the audacity to call and leave us a voicemail trying to upsell us yet AGAIN because "well, I don't want to worry you, but the vehicle isn't safe to drive, so give us a call back today because we're running a special, blah, blah, blah." We will NEVER use FTD again and DO NOT recommend them to friend or foe.

The owner saw the situation, walked out with a reassuring smile, and said, "No worries--we'll get you back on the road." Despite all his mechanics being busy, he personally rolled up his sleeves and got to work. We discovered a blown hose and a fan belt that had jumped off the pulleys. He replaced both, topped off the radiator, and even noticed and fixed a few other minor issues--including adjusting the idle and making a quick repair to the carburetor. He worked quickly, efficiently, and with genuine care. In less than an hour, my Chevelle was running beautifully again--and he only charged me $200. Honest, trustworthy, and incredibly skilled, this gentleman is everything you hope to find in a mechanic but rarely do. If you're looking for a shop that treats your car like their own and puts integrity first, Herbst High Performance is the place to go. I can't recommend them highly enough.
