Starting an early Aloha Friday happy hour here ... a bunch of tacos (pork belly was the winner + sesame ribeye). Guac and chips is always a great starter here. We'll be back.

Tried more than just tacos this time at Bartaco and everything was so good. The shrimp tacos continue to be one of my favorites, but the surprise standout was the cucumber salad. Super simple, fresh, and honestly amazing. I also got a nojito, which was really refreshing and perfect with the meal. I love the vibe here and that the menu changes enough to keep things interesting while still delivering great flavors every time. Definitely one of those places that feels fun whether you're grabbing a quick bite or staying awhile.

I have been coming here for years. They have a huge bar when you enter and there usually isn't a wait when you enter. I usually get the duck Birria quesadilla, guacamole, tuna poke, tuna tartare and their passion fruit margarita. For the tacos I usually get the pork belly, carne asada and sesame ribeye. Some of the tacos have Asian fusion influence and they do offer some vegetarian options. The food is always fresh and I am a big fan of their seasonal menu. They do offer a happy hour menu throughout the week. The tacos are average in size and I usually recommend ordering 3-5 per person to get full. When the weather gets warmer they do offer outdoor seating. The light here is dim and the noise level is low. They have great seating options for large parties. Highly recommend coming here for delicious tacos and fun margaritas.

Came back to bartaco for DC Cocktail Week, and this visit confirmed everything I loved the first time and then some. Brooke behind the bar was an absolute standout. Attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without overwhelming, and excited to walk me through the cocktail features. Soran and Javonte were just as amazing; warm, welcoming, and extremely intentional with the guest experience. The cocktails were fresh, balanced, and layered with flavor in a way that felt elevated but still fun. The food was just as strong, it plated well, seasoned perfectly, and consistently delicious. I LOVE their food options! What really sets this location apart is the energy: relaxed, stylish, and run by a team that clearly takes pride in what they do. It feels good to be here, and that's something you can't fake. I've reviewed bartaco before, but this visit deserved its own moment! If you're wondering whether The Wharf location still delivers? It absolutely does and the team deserves all their flowers.

We went on a Saturday evening without a reservation and had about 40 minute wait. The Wharf is so pretty to walk around, so the wait didn't feel that long. We sat in the outdoor space, which we were really happy about since the music is quite loud and it's usually difficult to hear each other inside. Started with a large guacamole and then ordered 2-3 tacos each. After receiving our food, we were a little disappointed that the menu didn't describe the items very well. For example - Cauliflower Taco - Mediterranean inspired with hummus, smoky paprika, and pomegranate. It was okay, but we were thrown off with the flavors since the menu is pretty poor at describing their tacos. The ribeye one was Asian inspired and topped with kimchi. Most traditional (and we thought delicious) were the carne asada and verde chicken. We jumped from Asian to Mediterranean to more traditional Mexican flavors in a couple bites. Just weren't expecting it. Also note the street corn is on the cob. So be aware if you're not a fan. We'll rerun but will be a bit more strategic of what flavors we want to enjoy that night and ask more questions.

The tacos and the salsa trio were sooo spicy even though they said they weren't on the menu. I let the waitress know and she didn't do anything about it. If you like tacos, I guess that's the place to go! The best taco was the ribeye. So much flavor. Drinks were terrible (margaritas)

Met a friend here for a quick dinner before seeing a show at Arena Stage. Great location - right around the corner from a main parking garage and a 2-3 min walk from the theater. Service was good. I enjoyed a margarita (well balanced) and the ahi tuna rice bowl. The rice underneath was crispy - nice contrasting texture from the tuna. Would definitely come back!

The food here was pretty good! I loved the duck, chicken verde tacos! The sesame sirloin taco was also pretty good. I didn't love the yucatan shrimp but it was good if you like yuca. The passion fruit marg in my opinion was way too sour. And the waitress who brought out our drinks carded us as she was about to hand us our drink, which was interesting.

    Brittany S.

The way these tacos taste is insanely delicious. The tacos are reasonably priced and they are so good you have to get multiples. My favorite is the duck taco. I also topped my tacos off with a nice tequila flight.

Bartaco is located on the wharf. We stopped in cause we were bar hopping and just checking out different places. We sat at the bar and were instantly greeted by one of the bartenders that explained how it all works. You fill out a sheet with what you want place the dragonfly card on the holder and they will come over to you. We ordered street tacos (fish, chicken, steak). They are small but really good. The chicken Verde and carne asada were my favorite. So flavorful and they can be ate in 2-3 bites. The kitchen closed at midnight when the bar does. We had mojitos and margs to go along with our dinner. Its a chill spot.

Duck taco was amazing! Flavored and seasoned very well and also had a kick to it. Best part about going there randomly lol

This spot is a smash hit in my opinion. Sat at the bar and got great service from Rain. The pork belly tacos were the star of the show, w/ the roasted duck tacos coming in second. The fish tacos were pretty good. I also tried the chorizo, ribeye and shrimps tacos, however I would likely not order this again. Definitely going to return for the pork belly and roasted duck tacos for sure.

    Pranjal S.

The food here was not seasoned at all! Hardly any flavor however the chicken was cooked properly. This place is certainly overhyped ... service was also incredibly slow. Messed up my drink as well and then completely forgot to remake it until i asked again 15 min later. I was excited for the street corn but it was just buttered corn with some cheese on top. Not worth it, would not go again.
