This place has not failed me yet. Food is amazing the service is amazing, the drinks on point. Def try all tacos and the margaritas! The ice cream is very tasty! Guacamole is good too! My favorite tacos are the portabella, chorizo, steak, my least favorite was the clams but still good. The wait can be long towards 8pm but if you get there around 5-6ish it's not to long of a wait. I love this place! Tacos are small, but so flavorful and delicious. You can't go wrong with Chorizo, Pork Belly, Rib Eye or Wild Boar Tacos. Yes, I said Wild Boar. The sauce that comes with the Plantains is awesome! It takes regular plantains to another level. I would also recommend the Chipotle Slaw and Corn on the Cob. Be aware that everything you order is a small plate, so you're probably going to need to get a couple of things unless you have the appetite of a kitten, which is totally fine because it's priced in a way that you can order a variety of things without breaking the bank. I was in Stamford on a business trip and Bartaco was a highlight. It was conveniently located right across from the hotel. When you arrive they explain that you order using an order sheet much like at a sushi restaurant. The tacos are sold separately so you can pick and choose an assortment. This was really nice as I wasn't sure which taco I wanted and got to try three. My favorite by far was the Baja Fish followed by the Crispy Pork Belly. We shared a couple of desserts but my favorite was the key lime pie. They also had a good selection of beer which I am a huge fan of craft beer. I was pleasantly surprised to see local beers on the menu and the two i tried were excellent. I definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

I found this place to be OK when it came to mexican food it definitely isn't as good as Casa Villa or El Chorito so if you're looking for authentic I'd go to those places. This was more of a trendy, beachy type vibe where young kids would hang out and think they were eating authentic mexican. The prices were a bit high for the amount of food they give you and the service was weird, not the waiters fault just the way they take your order and bring your food. It's not a place I'd probably go back to because I've been so spoiled with Casa Villa. It's worth a try if you enjoy eating at different restaurants for the sake of trying stuff out. read more

I loved it! It's the perfect after-work location to get a drink and some small plates with friends. I went there last night with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, and our waiter, Stephen, was wonderful. Friendly, funny, answered all our questions and when we had paid the bill, but not finished catching up, no one came over to make us feel like we had to leave, and it's not like it wasn't pretty busy. You kept me sane while i lived on the East Coast. Old Thymer cocktail, its delicious. Its bourbon and juice and stuff, wonderful. Tacos, great. Underrated - baja fish tacos. These are great. also pork belly. The bowls (our fave, shrimp green curry), also underrated. And hey, rotisserie chicken? Why not? Thats also delicious. Just a great place. It reminded me much more of a mexican restaurant in Chicago than in California. I love Bartaco because you get a lot of food for your money. The large tray is only $38 and it comes with 9 decent size tacos, a variety of sides, 2 tamales AND guacamole. Just enough for 3 people. Usually me and my friend or me and husband split a large tray which is probably too much food. But it's really good. Bahja fish, chorizo and pork belly tacos are great. Tried the ribeye taco for the first time Saturday... REALLY good! And spicy! Drinks are a little expensive for what you get. If you wanna save money stick to beer. Good chicken tacos and excellent mojitos! Also, the chips and guac were ok but what I must rave about are the mojitos. They could've used a tad more alcohol but I must say they were refreshing and definitely hit the spot. Our waiter was super friendly and nice. The reason I'm giving bartaco 3 stars is bc we waited for about an hr for a table and the hostess was a tad rude. In addition, my friends good took forever to come. I only come here for margaritas, guacamole, and oyster tacos with some extra of that gordita sauce on the side. Other tacos are pretty good, but not always satisfying. Unfortunately, the delivery of the food is based on what is done first and we weren't sure what was coming and when. We think we missed food ordered and got food we didn't. I really really love this place. As an avid taco eater I am so glad I landed in this gem of a restaurant. Their tacos are so good and I love that they really have a variety. My favorite tacos are definitely the sesame ribeye and duck. And their salsas are damn good as well!! I loved their cocktail menu too. I love spots that really change it up and make it interesting. they have a really great bourbon drink called the old thymer ( bourbon and thyme) So GOOD! and their mojitos are really good too. I do wish they had more wine on their menu but ill sacrifice that for their tacos anyday. Bar taco offers good tacos and very good drinks. The Stamford location is essentially a bar inside a restaurant so don't count on having any real conversation when the bar is in full swing. Food is good, but recently, it seems that the food was a bit less carefully prepared and seasoned. Maybe a bad night, but the usually reliable food fell short.
