Had workout reservations for 11:55am 06.06.2026 Saturday Entered and checked in. I told the person in the front counter that it was my first time. It was explained that a rotation workout will take place, starting from the treadmill to the floor workout, vise versa. Fair enough, I was excited to get it on! All game in! Entered the workout area and the ambiance gave a lets get it workout energy vibe. Lighting was Red! It was dark as well. The music was pumping with high intensity rave music. Well organized setting. Treadmill was top of the line. Workout weights were clean and organized Long story short. Place is Clean and hi tech. The people that work here are professionals. They are nice and courteous. This place will give you a workout! I really enjoyed it. Very motivating. Kudos to the instructor as well as the instructor that helped us perform meditation through breathing. Love this place! It's a great workout and a great location. It's very scaleable, I usually do one number below whatever they suggest because my main goal when running is to not injure myself. Nobody has ever given me side eye or commented. Every instructor is pleasant and upbeat. My absolute favorite so far is Sammy. He's jumping around and dancing, which kind of makes you feel like you're at a rave or a festival, even more than the music normally does. He's a great reminder that working out and moving our bodies is FUN, not a chore we have to get through. My only critique of Barry's would be the volume of the music, I always leave with a bit of a muted feeling in my ears and it can sometimes make the instructors hard to hear. Then again, I think that's probably intentional and part of the experience. read more

I booked Barry's class through class pass and it was my first time trying out Barry's, although it's not my first time going into HIIT type of class. The class has go with your own face type of vibe and I appreciate that because they split the class with running and a treadmill and also doing some weights. I'm not a type of person who can just run and run and run because I get bored but it was a good time to focus on myself while running as well because after a while we did some sets of weights . Brian's class is pretty challenging and it's actually pretty fun and not boring so I can't wait to go to his other class on Tuesday or Thursday . Parking is plenty on the street and it's located in a part of Long Beach that's not very busy so I appreciate that. read more

This Barry's Bootcamp has got to be one of my favorite studios to work out. You get to work on cardio on the treadmill and strength training with weights on the floor. Each class of the week targets different muscle groups. You definitely get an intense workout and are sore the next couple of days. Their amenities also set Barry's apart from other fitness boutiques. The ladies' locker room is luxurious and has the top amenities. There are private showers, lockers, Dyson hairdryers, towel service, OUAI toiletries, feminine hygiene supplies, and even the little things like bobby pins, hair ties, and ear plugs. They think of everything. Staff is nice and helpful and the instructors are firm yet encouraging. I recently took a class with Brian V. He was encouraging, energetic & efficient. Enthusiastic instructors! During the free weights and stretch bands portions, it was a little unclear what the exercises were. I had to look at the people around me. The instructor didn't always demonstrate each move. The music is upbeat and motivating, but SO loud. Maybe I'm an old fart, but I felt like I needed to unwind after my work out. My ears were ringing. The classes here are high-energy and uplifting, leaving me exhausted but proud after pushing through the full 50-minute session. The structure blends cardio and weight training, with interval-based switch-offs. The instructor provides guidance and motivation throughout, though at times, the loud music makes it difficult to hear. I highly recommend grabbing a pair of the complimentary earplugs at the front desk. My biggest challenge was following the weight-training portion. Without the instructor demonstrating the moves, I had to rely on others around me, but with some doing modifications, it wasn't always clear what the correct movement was. A screen at the front displaying the exercises could be a great addition. On a positive note, the post-workout perks are a nice touch--complimentary Ouai shampoo and conditioner make for a post-class shower! read more

Just a little update on Barry's Long Beach! I've taken a couple of classes now, and will say double floor is a little bit easier compared to the treadmill + floor option. I wear a my zone heart rate monitor and was surprised to see that it pairs to the tread! I started taking more of Brian's classes with his new schedule and I think he's become one of my favorite instructors here alongside Phil. They're both clear and easy to understand. Brian hypes me up almost every time, and his music choices make you go ham LOL. I'm only able to come once a week though because I already workout so much. But it's a really great way to get your cardio + Strength gains! The red room makes great flex pics lol! read more

Alright so , I have decided to come here as my primarily gym because the instructor I have on Tuesday mornings at 725am ! Is dynamite; I always burn over 500 calories! Obviously Barry's has an unbelievable standard of cleanliness and great vibes of customer service across the board ... Long Beach is my favorite thus far because I can go for a beach walk right after by the marina across the agree from Barry's ! When it comes to the workout itself ; I love the switch off from sprinting as a former track start , I love starting with the treadmill and then knocking out some floor work... I like that they offer double floor and teed if there is space or if that is what you prefer ; absolutely fantastic I do take a showers and as I was changing I notice that staff comes in a does a full wipe down of the restrooms so that being peace to my worried mind and the restrooms are certainly clean and they have a nice pull bench which is where I take some time for a morning prayer! Definitely my favorite work out studio compared to f45, and orange theory fitness. Reason may be is because the staff here are amazing, they have a juice bar, spacious lockers and a great showering area. My all time favorite coach would be Phil!! Phil, always has an amazing playlist, good energy, and great coaching skills. By coaching skills I mean he talks to his members and doesn't treat them like their in a boot camp like some other coach, y'all know who I'm talking about! If I wanted to be treated as if I was in a boot camp I would have join the marines! My favorite staff member would be Eric, very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. My favorite protein shake would be Barry's and Brunch, it's because of the berries. My favorite Barry's location! Special shout out to Phil--the best instructor! +located in 2nd and PCH center. Has couple parking garage in the center and parking is free first 90 mins I think? But you could also do street parking on Marina Dr right by Barry's for free parking if it's available! You could also park at the parking lot across 2nd and pch on Marina Drive for free also. +the shopping center has restaurants, Whole Foods, bar, and etc so it's a nice place to hangout after your workout. It's rather high end that's newly built so I love coming to this plaza in general. +Barry's locations all generally have great staff but I LOVE the Long Beach location. The staff at reception desk are all friendly and super nice. Make sure to come 10-15 mins before your class time so they can check you in or you can check in from the app if you're near the location. +workout itself is about 12 minute interval of running, weight lighting, running and weight lifting. You can start with running or weight lifting, it all depends on your selection when you sign up for the class. A lot of ppl prefer to run first so you want to sign up for your class few days before to guarantee your workout of your choice as your first set. +there are several great instructors but Phil's classes are my favorite! My friends and I personally love his playlist and his energy. His workout routines are challenging so it makes the class super worth it! He also dims or turns on the red lighting based on the drop of the music for a dramatic effect and it's so fun. If anyone is thinking of trying Barry's I HIGHLY recommend Phillip H's class but be warned--he'll set your Barry's standard pretty high and you might not be able to take any other instructor's class! +Barry's have lockers with locks so you don't need to bring your own lock. You can set your lock code on the spot and it's super easy to use. They also have few stalls for shower and they provide bath towels and toiletry items (including deodorant, tampons, oribe shampoo and conditioner and more), which is awesome. +Barry's have rewards program! If you plan to go often, I highly recommend joining the program. Depending on your tier, you'll get 1 complimentary shake every quarter, cancellation forgiveness, discount to their online shop and more. +Barry's also sells their workout gears which is SUPER cute . The items you purchased racks up points for their rewards program so more incentives to purchase their workout fits. +Barry's offer protein shakes and they're super good! There's an order sheet so you can put your name and treadmill or floor # you're assigned so they can charge your account for the shake and make it during your workout so that it's ready right when you're done with your workout. I love Barry's! The workout classes here are amazing and I've always come out of class feeling so satisfied. They focus on different body parts every day so it's nice to be able to train different areas. You can always go at ur own pace on the treadmill and choose your own weights for strength exercises. My favorite instructor here is Phil because he's so motivating and his playlists are fire. So many calories are burned and my body is always sore on the next day which is a good thing. The locker rooms and showers are huge and they provide a lot of necessities. Favorite workout studio ever! read more

Had a great first experience and can't wait to come back! I signed up on classpass and was excited to try this class since one of my favorite YouTubers raves about it often. Check in at least 5 mins before the class starts and drop off your stuff in a locker. Pick up a towel before entering the class. I did a Run & Lift - Total Body workout but there's the option to do all strength/no running if you choose. From what I remember, it's about 12 mins of running, 12 mins of strength, then repeat and stretch a little at the end of class. The running can be difficult for someone who's new to exercising but as someone who enjoys going on the occasional 2-3 mile jog and doing 5-10k races, I felt in my element but still very challenged once we increased the speed and incline. There was even a short portion at the end where you jog for 30 seconds, sprint 10/11/12mph, and repeat. I did 9 because I didn't wanna fall off and I'm glad the instructor didn't try to switch it to 10 haha. The strength portion was doable bc I was familiar with the moves from Caroline Girvan videos at home. I probably could have used heavier weights but I didn't want to push it too hard since it was my first class. The guy next to me had 30 lb weights in each hand! I personally am not sure if the instructor is supposed to correct your form bc either no one in my class needed help in that, or the instructor wasn't providing it... The bathrooms were super clean and luxurious. I opted to shower there and use their Oribe shampoo/conditioner/body wash/face wash. They didn't have face moisturizer but they also carried body moisturizer near the sinks. I would actually LOVE to come back because I felt so good afterwards. I can see why people like it. I know it's not for everyone, and the prices can definitely scare people away, but if you like running and strength training, why not try it?! read more

Tried a class here through class pass with my husband. We came for Arms and Abs day and our coach was Philip (i think). The class was tough but the coaches are great about pushing you but also respecting your own pace. The class actually went by so fast because you're constantly moving and there's no time to think about how long it's been or how much time is left. I didn't utilize the locker room much (i didn't know) but i went after to freshen up and it was clean and spacious. The classes do get full which makes sense since they're so popular! I have never been so obsessed with a workout class. I have tried so many different high intensity workout classes and none of them have ever compared to Barrys. I have been coming to this Barry's for over a year and it has brought me to a consistent workout routine. Every single instructor here is top notch. My favorite go to instructors are Leilani, Immie, Alan and Phil. I have not been able to attend the others based on my work schedule but hopefully will some day. Leilani-- BEST VIBES. She will sing and rap and dance during her classes which instantly brings a smile to my face and the best energized vibe. Immie-- You can tell she loves what she does and truly tries to build a relationship with the regulars in her class which brings us all back to her. Alan and Phil-- If you want to float straight to your death, take their class. Always the hardest ones I ever take but the most rewarding and the BEST feeling after a Barry's workout. These guys will push you to your limit. I could not speak more highly of Barry's and specifically this location with the instructors they have here. I was flying into town for a one day visit and wanted to workout with a friend who comes to Barry's regularly. I prepaid $28 for a drop in class and we booked two treads next to each other. My plane was late and ended up getting to Barry's right when the class was starting. When I checked in they had given my tread spot away. They mentioned that the "policy" is to check in 5 mins prior to class. Ummm, ok thats cool.... They gave me a spot on the floor to start at station 11. Ok, that's fine no problem. I run into the locker room for a quick change and enter the studio. Sure enough there's someone working out on station 11. I walk back outside to the front desk and ask what's going on and they said I needed to check in 5 mins before class. I acknowledged their "policy" but asked why they gave Floor 11 away? They couldn't answer other than referring to the "policy." Walked out with no workout. My issue here isn't the "policy" but it's the fact they gave me a floor spot and then gave it away to someone else in the 5 mins I was in the locker room changing. If they would have owned up and just told me the f-ed up I would have respected that. So if you're making your first visit here keep in mind that they probably have enough members and don't value or need any new ones or drop-ins. My friend who comes regularly had no issues even thought she was late getting to class with me. She ended up walking out when she saw I walked out. I rarely leave bad reviews on Yelp. Honestly best workouts I have got in a while. I have attended 9 classes so far and I am hooked. I really enjoy Immie's classes the most, but the other coaches are great as well. I have definitely noticed a difference in my body and endurance. You definitely do two rounds on the treadmill and strength training on the floor that are broken up, so it's very manageable. Because was my first class at Barry's and I am not super familiar with the Long Beach area, I arrived 30 minutes early (they ask you to arrive at least 15 minutes early to check-in) This studio is located at the recently opened 2nd & PCH shopping center and it's a super nice and modern area! If you're lucky, you might find a parking spot right in front of the studio (free parking!), but if not there's also a parking lot just down the street. Upon first entering, I was warmly greeted by the front desk staff and asked to read and sign a waiver. I was also informed of what station/number (either treadmills or weights) I was assigned to. After, I was directed to the locker rooms, where I was able to store my bag during the class. The front desk has little jars with hair bands, gum, and earplugs and the locker rooms have towels for the showers, hairdryers, lotion, among other amenities. Overall, it's a very clean and aesthetically pleasing area! Once I dropped off my items, I waited in the lobby area for class to start. Because this class was a collaboration with the Nike store that is in the same shopping complex, there was a brief introduction regarding some of their clothing products. From there, we entered the studio and walked to our stations. I started off on the treadmill, so the lights were dimmed and we began with a brief warm-up. The instructors are simultaneously coaching the people on the treadmills and those on the floor, yet as long as you listen, it's not too hard to follow along. The first round of treadmill/floor workouts were 12 minutes each. On the treadmill, we did varying speeds and inclines throughout the 12 minute period. For each speed, the instructor provides 3 levels, with the lowest level intended for beginners. Because today was a Saturday, the floor exercises were full-body workouts. The second round of treadmill/floor were 8 minutes each. To anyone who is attending a class for the first time, I would encourage you to pace yourself (don't go too hard in the first two 12-min intervals to where you are burnt out by the second round) and don't be afraid to ease into a Barry's styled workout. At Barry's, a sprint is considered speed 9 or above. In the first round on the treadmill, I pushed myself as much as I could. However, by the second round, I was noticeably more tired. Even though I managed to push through the first sprint at speed 9, I instantly realized that it was a bit too much for my first time. Immediately after that sprint, I felt like my breathing was very thick and was getting nauseous. Unfortunately, I had to step out to catch my breath and get some fresh air. The employees were all super kind though, and offered me a seat, a bottle of water, and encouraged me to not feel pressured to go back in. After resting for a couple of minutes, I felt prepared to go and finish the workout and I participated in the final few minutes of the floor portion. After class, one of the employees has a bunch of cold towels for you to wipe your face/body down and cool off - so nice! I also appreciated that the instructor took the time to see how I was doing after having to step out for a bit. Overall, although I got my butt kicked this time around, I would definitely want to revisit and make it through the whole workout. This location has wonderful staff, a well-stocked locker room and fueling (smoothie) bar, and new equipment. If you are looking for a solid workout, I would definitely recommend checking Barry's Bootcamp out! read more

Walking up to this place, I was super intimidated. It can be a bit daunting.. but my friends and I made it through. We decided up to sign up for a class through ClassPass on a whim. We did a Barry's and Boss Babes full body workout with a lower focus with Haley. She was super charasmatic and motivating. If it's your first time here, for this class, we moved from HIIT floor work type workouts then to the treadmills ("treads") then back to HIIT floor work then back to the treads again. I could barely survive the treads, for sure. It just reminded me how out of shape I am - probably from attending all these elite events, haha! just kidding. The speeds can go up to speed 12, which is really damn fast. You're expected to go from the 6-9 ranges for jogging then the 10-12 ranges for sprinting. I honestly stayed within the 4-7 speeds only. It's intense! I'm just glad I was able to survive the class as best as I could. Would definitely recommend this spot for whole body workout because it definitely felt super rewarding after the fact - even the restrooms were super clean and nice. When I get back to being more in shape, I definitely would make my way back for another class, hopefully soon! read more

I've been to plenty of gyms and workout studios in the past decade and this Barry's location is top notch! All of the staff have been nothing short of amazing. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, the trainers kick my ass almost every workout. A lot of people have told me this place looks intimidating but the front desk lets you know you can work at your own pace! There are people who are beginners all the way to advanced. I never feel self conscious because the mirror and lighting only makes you focus on yourself. The trainers have helped me if I needed some correction on form. I've been getting in the best shape of my life thanks to this place.
