I asked for 4 separate items that were on the floor, and they didn't have any other in store. Overall, customer service was terrible. My frames came out ok, but took way longer than expected. However when I went back to pick up this piece of jewelry it was all wrong. I understand that in life, things happen and mistakes are made but this has nothing to do with this horrible review! And in fact I've never written a negative review before in my life because I work in customer service myself and I understand how difficult it can be working with the public. The young man who assisted my (if that's what you want to call it) son and I was extremely rude and unhelpful. In fact he was downright disrespectful and seemed in concerned about the fact that I had paid over $150 for something that was very sentimental for my child; and that everything about it was wrong! Now I'm a very patient and reasonable person! When I asked him for help locating the item I wanted engraved rather then what they had put on the necklace he told me that it was my responsibility to be familiar with their company catalog when I tried to point out what I had ordered vs. what was actually engraved on the necklace. He refused to help me locate the symbol in their catalogue and told me that I should know where it was because I was the one who ordered it. When communication was completely impossible with this young man I requested to speak with a manager he told me that he was the manager and I was absolutely floored! All I wanted was for him to make what I had ordered and my son was due to fly back home to AZ. In a few days so there was an urgency in getting this accomplished. This Young man proceeds to tell me that the mistakes were my fault and that he was not going too fix the product because I was not familiar with the stores choices for engraving. I absolutely thought I was dreaming or had possibly lost my mind. I demanded a refund and while he was putting the payment back on my credit card he proceeds to berate me and antagonize me into arguing with him. My son is 15 y.o. And was with me at the time and it was supposed to be a surprise and very special moment. However it turned out to be the absolute worst customer service experience of my life. Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to Things Remembered at Danbury Fair Mall! And especially DO NOT entrust any items of sentimental value to this store!! If this is the level of moral that the manager possesses then I can just imagine the level in which his employees function under. This guy needs to go and see a therapist and at the very least get fired! Absolutely unacceptable!!
