Price/Food - This place is known for their pizza so I ordered the "mini" chicken BBQ pizza. The pizza itself wasn't bad but I was annoyed at the way they made their pizza. All the BBQ sauce was on the outside of the pizza near the crust and all the chicken was stuffed in the middle. They need to do a better job of mixing up the sauce and chicken. On the bright side, the portion was huge and made up for it. I ordered a mini and I was only able to finish half of it. I saw two guys next to me with a medium and it looked like an XL to me. Service/Location - Located by Brea Canyon right across from the Shell and Chevron gas station. - Everyone came here to watch the World Cup, however, the place was only half filled. I waited 45+ minutes for my pizza. If you know it's going to be a busy day, staff more employees and be prepared for the large group. Best pizza in the area and cooked just the way I like it. I love that thick crust, loved all of the undercooked veggies on the Barro's special, they were pretty damn fast for lunch, and way better than those national chains. If you love a nice and crunchy bottom to your pizza this place did that really well. Its a neighborhood joint, nothng fancy, just casual. its like a joint you'd go with your basketball team after practice or a game on friday night. i got the individual sized pizza. the pizza was good, crisp crust, good amount of toppings and cheese, my one main issue was the toppings fell off the pizza.... i thought it had to do with the fact that it was really hot, but the last slice i ate did that too so can't really be that. good lunch joint, i'd probably go back again. read more

I have been coming to Barro's for over 20 years now. It's a great pizza place. Very spacious and open flooring to accommodate large groups/sports teams. It's a bit pricey for a pizza but like the others said they def load up on the ingredients. The staff is very friendly. They have TVs to watch the games on. Stopped into this place for a quick bite to eat with the BF and his papa. My bf tells me this place had been around forever and has many fond memories from his childhood. With the old arcade games, infamous claw game, and picnic bench style seating, you can't help but feel a little nostalgic. It's definitely a little mom and pop shop. I always judge pizza based on the pizza crust, and topping to pizza size ratio- and they're pretty spot on here. The pepperoni was nice and spicy and the crust is probably the best I've had in a long time. I'm not a huge advocate of thick crust, but their thick crust is nice and crispy without being too much dough. Added bonus, the cheese here is like the one shown in tv commercials- ooey gooey and miles of stretch. The only negative... is that it seemed to take awhile for the pizza to come out. There was too much cheese in the middle of the pizza and make it thick, which means the staffing in front of the slice will fall off when you take. Delicious! Well lit, and open atmosphere. This place brings me back to childhood as they have a well stocked arcade in the corner and many televisions. Barro's always seems to be packed and the staff is great when it comes to timeliness and service in comparison to other pizza establishments I've been to in the past. The price of the food is a little on the expensive side but you will get a heavier, bigger portion that usually has plenty of leftovers afterwards. Barro's is a cozy little pizza joint. The pizza isn't fantastic, but it's still pretty good. It's not like Chicago or NY style, it's just straight up pizza. But nothing like a fresh pizza and some good appetizers while you watch the game. I forget which pizza I got to be honest, but I think it was called the Barro special or something like that. We added garlic to the top as an extra topping. There's spacious seating, and there's even a little arcade area in the back for kids. Some of their other stuff is decent too. Their salad is just salad, nothing special. Their lasagna wasn't the best either, but it was sufficiently cheesy and satisfying. One awesome thing they had was these potato slice things. I think it's basically just deep fried potato slices, kind of like potato chips except not as crispy and thicker. It's definitely more potato than chip. But that was really good. Ordered the Wednesday Barro Special: 1-topping XL for $20. Opted for sliced tomatoes for my 1-topping. This is cheesy pizza. Think Costco pizza level type cheese intensity. You pull the slice from the pie & the cheese just oozes off of it. What stood out in this pizza was the dough: substantive thickness but also very light & crisp. The texture mid-slice was the best part for me. Do the fold, scrape off some of the extraneous cheese, and you're good to go! I've been ordering pizza from Barro's for years. The last 3 times, it's not good. last night - 8/3/16 I had a pizza delivered. The large/huge family size - not cheap either- 1/2 ham w/ tomato and 1/2 ham w/ pinnapple - ok..1. SMALL pizza came 2. NO tomato's 3. they seem to get the price right...lol charged me for extra large. Now seriously - it's just a pizza, not a huge deal - I did call the Tatum location to let them know. Barros, you just lost my business. Barros is overpriced for what it is, a neighborhood pizza joint that serves flat beer. I would frequent Barros simply for convenience (I live nearby). The food is always average (But I'm not expecting much) Service is always blah, the place is never clean. Three T.V.'s in the place and if there is a Laker game on, don't expect to watch a baseball or hockey game (It wouldn't kill them to put the baseball game on the small t.v. in the corner). But tonight was the last straw, I called in my order hoping to save time and pop in and pick up my pizza. But I was told I had to wait in the ridiculous long line where everyone orders and pays for their food. (The owner/manager was rude when I asked if I had to wait in this line). Finally, when I made it to the front of the line, it was discovered that they messed up my order. The lost lady at the counter offered to make me a new pizza, but I was not about to wait another second longer so I told her I would take that pizza. All I got was an unsympathetic "Sorry". So I paid full price for a meal I didn't order. Offer to buy me a beer, or take care of an appetizer on my next visit. I'm not a customer who wants freebies, or I would have asked while I was there; but give a guy even a heartfelt apology, not just "Sorry now get out of my line so I can over charge the guy behind you for his meal". read more

Usually I'll round up stars if if I think something is above 4 starts, but not really 5 stars. In this case Ill round down and this is why:" Pizza: 4.25 stars. GREAT thin style pizza. This is thin, but its not anemic. It is firm, has substance, doesn't flop over like a limp...noodle. The cheese is QUALITY, gooey and perfect saltiness. The sauce isn't too sweet, and I didn't have to tell them light, because one knows how restaurants love to drown the foundation of a pizza in a lake of tomato sauce. Crust lovers, sorry this pizza has virtually no crust, but the end is flavorful; like a perfectly warm, toasted, crispy bread stick. The toppings were fair and of good quality. The sausage is TOP CLASS, chopped up REAL sausage. The canadian bacon was also perfectly crispy and came out embedded into the cheese - drool. The pizza tastes good cold and I got a hint of Parmesan and more of the oregano when I did eat it cold. The pizza heats up remarkably well (almost as good as fresh) in Man's Best Friend: The Convection Oven. Garlic Cheese Bread: 4 stars. Not much to tell, cheesy, garlicy, crispy, perfect for a salad. Antipasto Salad: 3 stars. Good three-four servings. Nothing to brag about, comes on a paper plate and the Italian dressing was a bit salty. Decor: 3 stars. Bench seating. We open it up and what do we see? A coupon for a family special and another coupon that gives you a 1/2 price discount on an XL(one topping) when you buy an XL(one topping). I understand in the realm of Business one is out to make MONEY, and usually as much as you can. In the restaurant environment, you want customers to return by providing a great product, great service and all at a reasonable price. If the cashier (imagine part of the ownership or family of ownership, given he was asian and their was an older asian lady walking around) notices we are ordering a lot of food, why doesn't he offer the family special or to use a coupon that is INSIDE A CLOSED MENU RIGHT TO THE LEFT OF US? That is easy, make the extra 9 bucks; which would have helped pay for the drinks. I've been to too many places, especially Pizza Parlors, to know that's kind of foul. Sergeant Pepperoni will tell you to buy two pizzas in order to give you one free if you don't see their ads on their tables. Oh well, chalk it up to getting schooled.Is the pizza good?
