Honestly one of the best classes I've taken in a long time! Ky was so kind, I had a strain I was worried about that I had mentioned and she made a point to check on me during any exercise that was too strenuous. She was warm and welcoming and it showed throughout how she treated everyone in the class. Her flow was great, she had us matched to the beat and she touched on all the muscle groups. Really liked the studio as well! It's small but it's cute. read more

Bought a two-week pass after a good intro class and brought a friend along. Friday was my first class as a paying member -- I arrived ten minutes late after an hour of driving from summer camp dropoff with unexpected traffic, and was turned away at the door. Apparently, grace is only extended for five minutes. The owner explained why. First, safety: I'd missed the warm-up. (During my intro class, her receptionist joined about ten minutes late. So much for that.) Second, and more telling -- if she let me in, what would the other clients think? They'd think lateness was acceptable. The optics mattered more than the paying member standing in front of her In tears. Third, the policy was in an email I admittedly hadn't read closely. I was new- it was my first class as a member, so I truly didn't know or I wouldn't have driven the extra 30 minutes. All it would have taken: "Come in, warm up on your own and take it slow. For next time, we have a five-minute grace period." Rule intact, member retained. Instead I was sent home, and when I asked to refund the pass I hadn't used for a single class, I was told no -- she provides a service and I pay for it. Rigid, and not interested in the people paying to be there or in having empathy for real life situations. read more

I recently started incorporating barre into my workouts and I love it! As someone who has been going to gyms for years I needed a change in my workout plan and this was just what I needed. Something challenging yet fun. I just took 2 classes here with Makenna and Sammi. Everyone here is super nice and the location is steps away from the beach. Parking is not hard at all as there is plenty. Not to mention there is a ton of shops around. read more

I took my first barre class at barre3 and while it was super tough, I left feeling strong and accomplished. My instructor was Ashley (I think) and she was so sweet and encouraging. The studio was super clean, well-ventilated, and organized. She gave me a quick tour and helped me pick out my equipment since I was new. The class was a full hour, and was shaking by the end of the warmup, it is an incredibly leg heavy workout. The chair sits similarly destroyed me. Arm and core work came after leg, and I was much more comfortable doing those, but the barre leg movements were challenging for me. My legs ached for days after, but I will definitely be back! Pro tip for this barre3 location specifically, it's only a few blocks away from Wayfarer Bakery and Bird Rock. I strongly recommend pre-ordering for both places and just setting the pickup time for after your class! There are many beaches and cliffs in the area where you can sit and eat. Breakfast with a view after a good workout, what more do you need!? read more

Studio Barre has everything you want in a barre class. The workouts are tough but fun, the studio is clean and gorgeous, and the instructors are professional and engaging. Sammi in particular is fantastic. Her wonderful demeanor while encouraging your effort just the right amount will have you working harder than you ever thought you could in a barre class. I love the props used in class too: mat, weights, straps, weighted balls and more. Get yourself over to a class and you'll be in full ballerina mode before you leave! read more

I love love this barre studio! Everyone is so friendly and the classes are so good! The studio is extremely clean and has a good energy.

I came here looking for a change. My body was worn down by the demands of working motherhood and I was OUT OF SHAPE. The owner Moo and the team here are amazing. They push you to limits without ever making you feel bad. I honestly don't think about the clock very much during class. The community that attends classes is super nice and respectful. The space is clean and cute. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun, fast way to feel better and get healthier. No one ever asked or prompted me for this review, but i think promoting awesome businesses helps us all in the end. read more

I can't say enough good things about Studio Barre in Bird Rock!!! Everyone there is so nice and the building is adorable and well-decorated. Really positive vibes the whole time you are there. I'm new to barre and have been exploring different studios via class pass. I just have to say that I LOVED my experience here at Studio Barre. First of all, the studio is neat and clean. It's got a cute little shop in front with the barre studio to follow. What I loved most though was the structure of the class. The instructor was incredible! Her class was a lot harder than the barre class I had taken previously but I loved that! It was challenging in all the best ways! I felt like I was really working every muscle through out the course of the class. She also did a great job of coming around to correct posture and give you that extra push when needed. This studio has wood floors so the socks can get slippery but the instructor even helped me to position my mat under me for maximum grip during various positions! So awesome! read more

Hands down best studio in San Diego area. Love. Love. Love. Amazing work out and most welcoming community.

Started the beginning of 2018, to try something new. I wanted to shake up my workouts and I fell in love with barre because of Studio Barre Bird Rock. I have periods where I go three times a week to at least once a week. Either way the barre-tenders are welcoming and the owners Megs+Moo are super awesome. They helped me set up a barre-ty event for my fundraiser with Make-A-Wish. Would highly suggest, if you are looking for a good workout and a supportive family! read more

Drove 30 minutes to go to a call at this studio. Signed up and registered but no one was there.

I always saw this place on Class Pass but was always meh about trying it. Then I saw their deal on FB for two weeks unlimited for $10, so I figured I had nothing to lose. You guys, it's amazing. I've always had a tough time with barre classes--a lot of the classes weren't challenging enough, the instructors were meh, the structure just wasn't there, but not this place. First of all, the music is ON POINT. You are so motivated to keep working even when you feel like dying (which is honestly the whole class because these teachers are tough but in a good way). The instructors are all super motivating, great adjustments, and great attitudes. The studio is clean and so cute! I just love everything about this place. The parking can be a little nuts so be sure to get there early. The girls at the front desk are so nice about saving you a spot if you're running a little late (I've called a couple times to let them know and they set up a mat for me right at the door). Favorite barre studio in SD, for sure! read more

Ya know when you first go to a place and fall in love with the atmosphere and the people?! Well that's what happened my first time here. Jen and Lindsay are the owners and are super friendly... The workout for the best butt and legs in town is on point ...and trust me, I've been to a ton of barre studios!! If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. Beyond the workout and the cute studio, and great vibe, they have a phenomenal clothing, sock, tops etc... Boutique. It's truly a one stop Shop! I went in yesterday for my first ever barre class and it kicked my butt. Seriously, I don't know how the heck I went to work today because my body is so dang sore. Cute little place. The instructor was great, very helpful. It was a small class so I really felt like she was able to really pay attention to us. She even encouraged us by name which really felt good. I really appreciated that because I am really out of shape, so I was struggling. The classes are expensive, so I don't think I'll be back after my package expires. The price for 1 set of socks was $14 and unlimited monthly classes are $129. read more

The BEST class for an incredible body shaping workout!!! Love Amanda and Cassie's classes!

I found out about barre workouts and this specific studio through ClassPass, and have since committed. To the uninitiated, barre is a whole body muscle strengthening exercise routine, with an emphasis on the lower body. No skipping leg days here! It utilizes no-slip mats, resistance bands, exercise balls, and weights (2-8lb), and follows a pattern of targeting the arms, then thighs, then butt, then abs, with stretching and short bursts of "cardio snacks" in between. The routine is changed every few weeks, and each instructor mixes up the moves and the music, so no two classes are ever the same. My experience at other barre studios has been each has its own emphasis. Some target toning and stretching and are more on the ballet side, and some, like Studio Barre, are great for muscle endurance training. You will sweat and shake and walk out with legs like cooked noodles, followed by soreness for days, and finally feel tighter and stronger and better. Personally I feel my metabolism has quickened and I have more energy during the day. It's not a replacement for cardio, but my friend who's into strength training says it's comparable to an intense gym session. I've had a very difficult time convincing my guy friends to try out barre workouts. Somehow the association with ballet and the majority women in tights creates a mental barrier for macho gym rats and surf dudes, but the handful who have humored me, snarkily or not, and tried out Studio Barre left impressed. Some barre moves are quite peculiar and take a couple tries to get right, but the instructors are always helpful with explanations and hands-on adjustments. The studio itself is quite nice with its yellow theme, with a small boutique in the front and a "funky chandelier" in the back. The bathroom is always clean, equipped with mints and hair ties and other essentials. I especially prefer the hardwood floors to carpet, and I appreciate that they recommend but don't force you to buy barre socks. Finally, the instructors are what make it all-around awesome, they're all great at remembering your name and always encouraging. With the student discount, it's a bit more than $10 per class, and they often have discounts and specials posted on Instagram. TL;DR Intense endurance workout in cute, male-friendly, hardwood floored studio. You get plenty of help and encouragement to do the exercises correctly. Bring socks and water. read more

Prior to Studio Barre, I neverrrr worked out (but hey better late than never!) They target every single part of your body, but if i had to choose, my favorite exercises are the seat workouts! They're always changing up the choreo so the workout is always fun, yet challenging. Note: emphasis on the FUN. Yes, the workouts are killer and I sweat and I shake and sometimes it gets too tough for me that I gotta take a second or two to cheat and rest (lol), but what keeps me coming back is that the workouts are FUN and they show results QUICKLY. Not even joking, my girlfriends used to always comment on how I had suuuuch a flat asian booty, but after just a few barre classes, they are shocked to see how much better my bottom looks! & I really like the class style because the instructor will motivate you and push you to keep going (further than you'd probably push yourself!) And everyone there is so so SOO nice and encouraging. I'm quite shy and so I was a little intimidated to come for my first time but they are all really easy to talk to! Im too addicted to barre! They are always having promotional deals and stuff so you can always find the packages for cheaper, so try it!! read more

I joined studio barre society in November after I've have my last child. While I have taken a barre class one time years before that, it felt like the first time over again. I instantly felt welcomed and all the ladies were supportive of everyone's experience level. They also offer modifications to anyone who struggles with certain positions etc. The studio is very nice, bright and clean. They also have a cute boutique in the front where you can buy anything from candles, to socks, to sport bras and leggings. The studio often has little challenges to get people motivated. For example, one month, they offered free classes to anyone who came 4+ times in one week. All the instructors are talented and each one has their own flair. The owners Lindsey and Jen are both very nice and energetic. They are sure to get you moving! read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! Let's just say it has become my second home! I can't seem to get enough of barre! It's actually pretty addicting; especially when you have such great, motivating instructors. I had never heard or tried barre before February this year. I came across a groupon deal and I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did because now I'm hooked and I am seeing amazing results! I love taking Jenn's class. She is awesome; she motivates me and pushes me to do my best. She will correct my posture or my form if I'm not doing the exercise correctly. The routines are very challenging, but very fun. I've brought a couple of my friends/coworkers and they have all loved it as well. The studio is always clean and it's spacious. Classes can get filled up, depending on the time a and day you go. Usually the afternoon classes get a little more crowded; I'm assuming because that's when everyone gets off work. I'm really excited to see the results in a month or two; I've only been coming here for a couple of weeks and I already love the little changes.
