I patiently waited a whole year to write my review because from the moment I walked into this…read morestudio, I had a feeling I was going to love it & I did! This is a women owned business & I cannot be more proud of Erika & Leeann for doing what they do, what they've accomplished, & what is yet to come! This studio isn't your typical Barre studio, they really do teach more than just Barre, but also connecting to your mind, body, & soul. I love the fact this studio is not a chain, which makes it more special because it locally owned & their technique is impressive! I noticed there is never more than 10 people in the class, which is a plus! The instructors are able to concentrate on helping everyone with their forms & it becomes more personal compared going to a chain. I love the fact that every class/workout is different! The esthetics of the studio is what makes it different as well. Everything from the scents to décor, it gives a good energy & it literally doesn't make you feel like you're at a typical gym or workout space. All the women who work in the studio really do put in all their efforts to make everyone special & feel so welcomed. Try a class & you won't regret it!

Class sizes are small and Erika and LeeAnn are amazing instructors! One thing so unique about this studio is Erika makes sure your form is correct so that you don't hurt yourself. After I mentioned I was having back issues to Erika after class, she spent some time with me to make sure my form was correct and I haven't had any issues since! So appreciative of Erika and the Barre and Bay Wreath community. I hadn't taken barre classes previously and was very weak when I first started, but I always felt welcome. Love coming to classes here and can really see the difference in how strong I'm getting!! Can't wait for my next class!!

Something challenging yet fun. I just took 2 classes here with Makenna and Sammi. Everyone here is super nice and the location is steps away from the beach. The studio was super clean, well-ventilated, and organized. She gave me a quick tour and helped me pick out my equipment since I was new. The class was a full hour, and was shaking by the end of the warmup, it is an incredibly leg heavy workout. The chair sits similarly destroyed me. Arm and core work came after leg, and I was much more comfortable doing those, but the barre leg movements were challenging for me. My legs ached for days after, but I will definitely be back! Pro tip for this barre3 location specifically, it's only a few blocks away from Wayfarer Bakery and Bird Rock. I strongly recommend pre-ordering for both places and just setting the pickup time for after your class! There are many beaches and cliffs in the area where you can sit and eat. Breakfast with a view after a good workout, what more do you need!?

Barre3 North Park is my happy place!…read more I've been a longtime Barre3 fan--originally a member at the La Jolla/UTC location before it sadly closed during the pandemic. I took a break to try other studios, but nothing quite compared. When I moved to Downtown San Diego about 3.5 years ago and discovered the North Park studio, I knew I had to give it a shot. I started taking classes again through ClassPass and was immediately reminded why I loved Barre3 so much--the workouts are still challenging, empowering, and incredibly well-rounded. I officially rejoined as a member during a New Year's special in early 2023, and as of today, I've completed 294 classes! What I love most is the variety: Signature for a balanced, full-body burn Strength for more resistance-focused training Mindful Flow when I need a yoga-inspired reset Every instructor is genuinely kind, welcoming, and so good at what they do. Whether you're a first-timer or seasoned regular, you'll feel supported and challenged in the best way. Parking can be a little tricky--you'll need to find street parking in the surrounding neighborhood or pay $5 to use the nearby parking structure. Avoid Thursdays if you can, because the Farmer's Market makes parking a bit of a mission. Salina, the owner, is fantastic. She recently acquired the Studio Barre in Mission Hills (soon to be another Barre3!), and I've just switched my membership to that location since it's closer to me and has easier parking--but North Park will always hold a special place in my heart. If you're looking for a consistent, encouraging, and fun workout that meets you where you're at, Barre3 is it. I'm proud to be a part of this community and plan to stick with it for years to come!

The variety of classes are great and offer an opportunity to try strength building, cardio, and yoga. The signature class is one of my favorites, allowing for muscle building and cardio bursts, all while remaining low-impact. After 1+ years of consistent classes, I feel the STRONGEST I've ever felt. I was a regular athlete all through highschool and into college and would deal with frequent injuries. Barre3 is the first time I've felt like I can grow at a sustainable rate without risk of injury. Each class also ends with a breathwork session and this has easily been one of my new favorite routines. I now regularly incorporate breath work into my personal life outside of Barre3 and it's been such a nice mental health technique to keep in my back pocket. However, it's the instructors that are the true standout here. They are all SO welcoming, kind, genuine, and have THE best positive energy. I remember being welcomed and guided through my first class so kindly, and I've watched them all welcome other newbies hundreds of times since. They keep it real and give space to the hard parts of daily life and the outside world; but as soon as everyone crosses into the studio - it's time to let that go and it is SO cathartic. It's impossible to leave this studio without being in a better mood than how you arrived - even on the happy days! We're moving to North County and this Barre3 studio will easily be one of the parts I miss most about North Park! All of the Barre team and all of the regulars are such a happy, joyful part of my day and if you're considering this studio - I hope you'll say yes so that you can have this positivity and strength in your life too!

I was also afraid of what would happen if I didn't do the poses correctly and "flow" with the class. After attending the evening yoga flow class on Mondays for about 4 months, I really like this place. Never did I feel lost in the flow with the class. I was able to learn the yoga poses without feeling intimidated or embarrassed. Amanda is a great instructor and if she does do a slight correction to your poses, she does it gently without making you feel bad. I love how Amanda says that Yoga is your practice, and you cannot compare your practice with others. I also love how she shares her nuggets of wisdom toward the end of the class. Lo is also amazing too. She subbed for Amanda for 1 class when she was out. Despite the clientele being women, I never felt excluded by anyone there. Of course, it is natural to feel out of place at the beginning for me, but now I enjoy coming to here every Monday night.
