This has been my go to work out place for the past one year. The instructors are so good and fun to work out with. They challenge you to do better every single time while acknowledging our limitations. Highly recommend this place to all the pilates fans and anyone who want to try it out.

Took 30 classes so far and completely love it! 99% time you will be removed from the waitlist the day before the class.

The sizing is way off and had to try several items to just find my right size, as it's not consistent with the labeling across different designs. And then comes this sweet girl to help me out. She would grab sizes for me I wasn't asking for BUT she knew what size I needed and this is great as it shows product knowledge. However the bummer part was that a lot of the colors I wanted they didnt have in store in the size I was looking for and unfortunately it seems to be the case online as well. Nonetheless it was a good shopping experience, and felt that customer service was great. Even my mom picked something out. Alo doesn't offer military discount and probably should. They do have a point system for your purchases which you can redeem for freebies similar to what Sephora offers. For the stuff they didn't have at the store I went online searching for it and found a lot more items that the store doesn't carry, so I loaded up my cart with more stuff. Being in San Diego it doesn't get THAT cold and the store carried a lot of super winter style coats which I think perhaps the store should carry some more light weight jackets that are on their website. The quality is good and pricing goes along with it. I only gave it 4 stars because of sizing limitations, they were either too small or too large for the most part so it made it hard to shop for more

Went to this store on a Friday morning for my 1st time to do an online purchase exchange. The…read morecustomer service was very poor. There were 2 workers in the front entrance. They did not greet me which is fine. I approached them and one of the ladies (short and stout) stared me up and down twice and gave a nonchalant "can I help you?" There was no "hi" or "welcome" I told them I needed to do an exchange and they paused as if I was interrupting their convo and asked what I was exchanging. The same lady continued to look me up and down. I let them know the items and they looked up the scanner for the items and it took them forever without any updates. So I proceeded to peruse the store. They gave me only 1 item and I had 3 to exchange for a better size. I tried it on and the fitting room worker (Taylor) was super nice and helped me. I waited and continued to shop. After a few minutes I went up to the same lady and she stared me up and down again. I asked "did the other items ever come up on the scanner with my size?" She said defensively, "yea, I saw her grab it and we gave it to you." I told her, "no, I didn't get them." She said "well, I saw her get them."The gentlemen worker next to her took the step to actually help me and we walked to the fitting room and there was only 1 piece. Was still waiting for the remaining piece. So I was like whatever and got different pieces and tried them on instead. Went to the front, cash register lady was so grumpy, no smile. She told me to pull up my order number and I gave it to her. She responds with a grumpy accusatory voice, " this order number is a wrong number." I told her I'm exchanging the pieces I brought in. She looked dumbfounded. Then she realized why she asked me for the order number in the first place. Transaction done. I said "thanks for your help." She says sarcastically and looking down, "yea. my pleasure." I will mostly likely stick to online purchases given the lack of quality customer service the store provides. There were at least 5-6 workers and I was 1 of 2 customers. Not sure what they were working on that kept them from helping me kindly. I see now why the store has overall poor customer service reviews with the exception of Taylor. She should manage that store. Alo La Jolla store, please do better.

TLDR: lack of space, not a lot of classical Pilates moves baked in, deafening music…read more I think it's just ok. Didn't feel like much Pilates besides the side laying series, felt more like a HIIT boot camp. Like other reviewers have mentioned, it gets really packed inside. I think that might also explain why instructors aren't hands on with modifications -- it's just too crowded to fit in between people. The person to my left got their nasty a$$ foot sweat on me when we were all doing supine twist and did not give a damn. Music was obnoxiously loud, my ears were ringing after class. Instructor was sweet but noticed there weren't many modifications, lol the "NO ONE DROPS!!" cues don't really help someone doing a modified plank! Doesn't compare at all to Flexcore down the street. The eucalyptus towel was the saving grace, but personally, I wouldn't come back here again. At Flexcore, they give out towels while you're stretching so you don't have to swim in a crowd of people after.

My friends and I tried a Sculpt class at Activate House and it was killer!…read more Our instructor Bryan challenged us for sure - it's an hour-long heated class using light & medium weights and a band. The studio itself is super clean and aesthetic, and I loved wrapping up with a cool eucalyptus towel afterward. What a treat! The studio is in a wonderful location in Bird Rock - surrounded by different coffee shops and food spots, plus it's walking distance to Windansea Beach. It's a bit far from me, but I'd totally make my way back (:
