Beautiful spot, very trendy and aesthetically pleasing. Plunge feels clean. Staff was friendly.

Really clean facilities and very helpful staff. A very nice quiet gem to take time to reset and relax within!

You hear all the craze about breath work and cold plunges, but to experience it yourself truly demonstrates the value and benefit! I've been in healthcare for almost 20yr and from a medical and biological standpoint, it makes sense what breath work and cold plunges/infrared sauna (contrast therapy) can do. I have done multiple modalities of self-care from exercise, sports massage therapy, compression therapy, foam rolling, energy healing, and sound therapy which have all been valuable, but breathwork and cold plunges create an immediate shift in your nervous system to help you reduce inflammation, stress, anxiety and quickly readjust your focus. I've only taken the signature class which is a guided breathwork class followed by a cold plunge and infrared sauna session. I've taken about 5 classes with the owners Mia and Matt, and I found it to be extremely valuable and have always appreciated the energy of the group and the release I've achieved afterwards. Mia and Matt guide you through 3 types of breathing exercises: - Box breathing: traditional yoga-style breathing where you breath in for 4-5 seconds and breath out for 4-5 seconds - 4-7-8 breathing: breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 7 seconds, and breathe out for 8 seconds - holotropic breathing: rapid breath that they refer to as the "mountain climb" where you take 2 breaths in, 1 breath out, or 1 wave-like breath in, and 1 breath out The holotropic breathing is designed to help you release blocks and facilitate emotional healing, growth, and spiritual exploration. It can be difficult to sustain, and is only done for a short period of time but can cause a "heady" or lightheaded feeling as well as tingling sensation in extremities or other parts of the body. Some may also have other physical responses such as laughing or crying. Depending on the intensity of breathing and duration, every person's experience will vary. They play awesome music that compliments each breathing exercise which really helps you stay focused, especially during the mountain climb :D They also may provide hands-on support, if needed. At one of my session, I was having quite an emotional response, and I appreciated Matt coming to encourage me. Class is in a beautiful room with sound bowls and a lovely starry sky projected above with blankets, yoga bolsters, eye masks, and essential oils to make you comfortable. Bring your own yoga mat and towel otherwise both can be provided for a small fee. Pair the breath work with contrast therapy (cold plunge & infrared sauna) after and you're giving your mind, body and nervous system a complete "reset." The cold plunge can definitely be a shock (that's the point :P), but it's well-worth the benefit! Altogether it will give you a feeling of release, relaxation, and reinvigoration. It can also really help with sleep! Because of the simplicity and guidance that Mia and Matt provide in this class, I've been able to do the breathwork on my own at home, and have the same response. It's definitely not as enjoyable as class since you're in a community and sharing energy with others, but I greatly appreciate having the tools readily available to exercise this at home, if needed. The front desk staff has always been very friendly, and the studio is always well-kept and clean. I do wish the storage space for personal items was a little easier, but understandable given the setup/area. Parking is on the street but generally it hasn't been an issue, although I'm sure it can depend on the day and time (e.g. farmers market). I have asked other members about the other classes and they always have very positive reviews! Mia and Matt have created a very sacred and inviting space for you to discover another path to plunge and realign with your soul. Definitely don't miss out on supporting such an amazing, fabulous small business and wonderful community!

Wow! This is my 2nd time here and I love it! The cleanliness is off the charts. Everyone time someone moves from a location, someone is coming behind to make sure everything is how it should be. The vibe is everything and you feel so rejuvenated walking away! I was skeptical to do any sort of cold plunge, but this place has convinced me to continue to back!

I did contrast therapy - 45 mins class. This was my first time doing it and I'm completely addicted! The infrared sauna is extremely spacious and relaxing. The cold plunge was clean and I noticed a worker constantly maintaining the area to make sure the whole studio stays clean which I liked! Also the studio itself is super cute. Will definitely be coming back.

Great class and super friendly staff! Has showers and a place to leave your items! Has a sauna and cold plunge

The class gave us a really deep stretch and left me feeling relaxed and refreshed in a way I wasn't expecting. The space also has a big yoga dome right next door and a restaurant serving up a great selection of healthy food, which is a nice bonus before or after class. Just a couple things to keep in mind: parking can get tricky so give yourself extra time, and spots in the class fill up fast so make sure to book ahead. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a workout that's fun, unique and actually feels good for your body!

Their Ocean Beach location is nice too, but really sets this one apart is its outdoor deck. I've always believed yoga is exponentially better when it's outdoors, and the vibes of this outdoor deck are immaculate. I love practicing in the shade under the coverings, among lots of plants and nice classmates (everyone I've encountered here is lovely). Every class I've been to here, from vinyasa to slow flow to hatha, has been basically perfect. Also, parking isn't too bad, and I love Bird Rock. My favorite thing is stopping by Calumet Park before or after class, since it's only a couple blocks away and offers a killer ocean view. Whether you're a seasoned yogi or you've never tried yoga before, I would definitely recommend checking out Riffs! It's both accessible for beginners and authentic for those who are more into yoga.

I also love the little altar that they have set up on the steps in between the instructor and the deck where the students are practicing. They always have it decorated with seasonal items and it's so pretty. I really enjoy the instructors. Today was Asia and she always teaches such an engaging flow. I also enjoy the classes with the live music. What I'm not a big fan of is the wellness area they have set up behind the studio in the grassy area adjacent to the yoga deck. They do cold plunge out there during the class and to be honest, I find it distracting. During today's class there was someone in the cold plunge in the beginning, fortunately that person was very quiet, but I was aware that they were back there. There have been other times when I was there when there were people in the cold plunge and they were laughing and talking while the class was going on. I get it that the studio is in the heart of Bird Rock that there is other noise from the street, from the taco shop next-door, etc. But to have the distraction in the space you are practicing in is not ideal. When I checked in at the front, the girl who had me sign the waiver asked me if I was aware that they had a wellness area behind the studio. I told her yes, and that I was not a big fan of it. She told me that they are brainstorming ways to separate that area from the front of the studio more efficiently. Hopefully they come up with some solutions!

One thing I love is that each station has a TV screen showing the movements, so even if you forget, you always have a visual reference. The programming is intentional--it keeps you from getting overly fatigued or risking injury, while still challenging you to push hard when it's your turn. The rotating group format includes rest blocks that give you just enough time to recover and hit the next set strong. I love that part so much!
