It's lovely to be treated so well and experience such a high level of professionalism in one place. Check in experience was by-the-book, friendly, welcoming. I went to the 9:00am Vinyasa Power class. I felt included and welcomed even though I didn't look like the other girls going. The instructor was on top of her stuff. Creating a flow accessible for beginners but great top students with a touch of spice. The classic, power vinyasa one-breath-one-posture sequence was in there. I encourage new comers to go at their own pace. Margy was masterful. Walking around the class, to give attention. she mentioned hand-on-assists but there weren't any, which is typical for this branded style. Bravo Yoga Box! It's hard to pull off and your team left me feeling amazing! read more

While I discovered hot yoga is not for me, I still have a lot of good things to say. If I liked yoga more, I could see myself buying an unlimited membership here. They have a fantastic "try 3 free classes" deal for those who haven't tried Yoga Box before. I tried 2 of the 3 classes, both Power Vinyasa classes, as I am very much a beginner. Even the Power Vinyasa class moved pretty quickly so I ended up taking a few breaks to catch up. Can be tough if you don't know the name of certain moves but the instructors do a good job of demonstrating & watching other folks who know what they're doing is helpful. The studio is very communicative ahead of your first class and they do a good job of letting you know what to brings(yoga mat, towel, water). The studio is extremely clean & the instructors were very nice. I will say, I think this is pretty tough for someone (me) who has never done yoga before. It gets very warm in the room (97 degrees) and you will sweat a LOT. Like puddles of sweat. I recall the music in both classes I attended being really good. The prices seem pretty fair compared to other workout studios around PB (I think currently like $114/month for unlimited classes...that seems like a good deal (though I don't know how much other yoga classes cost) and there are a wide selection of time slots so seems to be good for early birds & those who want to come after work / later in the evening. Parking in the lot was nearly impossible but there is nearby residential parking...I got lucky both times but could see that being an issue depending on the time of day. So despite not yoga not being a good fit for me, I'd still highly recommend it to those wanting to try / those who know they like yoga! read more

I belong as a member to the YOGA BOX in Ocean Beach. I joined last year and decided to fully commit to a yoga regiment. I quickly found a few instructors that I really enjoyed specifically, Abby. This year was incredibly hard for me mentally and physically, and I found solace in her classes... It gave me a new found joy.... I had something to look forward to 4 to 5 days a week and still do.... It has enriched me mentally and physically. I was really really struggling and going to her classes was the perfect amount of challenge for my practice, as well as her spiritual, fun, quirky and lighthearted Approach to yoga. You can tell she actually really enjoys teaching, and likes to have fun with her students.... as well as guiding them and giving their practice purpose. I significantly needed this in my life and it has changed my life for the better. I'm so grateful to Abby every single day, I say that with my whole heart. She's an awesome yoga teacher. So if you ever are in the neighborhood, please take one of her vinyasa power flow classes, I guarantee you will enjoy the challenge and the flow is exceptional and for all levels .....whether you need a nice soothing breath, or a little bit of a laugh or as she would Say "a warm nap".... She can provide all of the above. Namaste. read more

Love this yoga studio in PB! I have yet to try other locations, but have enjoyed taking classes here for about a year now. Parking is pretty standard for PB with finding some sidewalk street parking. Great instructors here with the variety of class offerings with sculpt and power vinyasa flow classes. The instructors play great music and are awesome with their guidance and motivation! The lighting in the studio is great and they have a restroom inside along with a water fountain. The heated room and push that yoga gives has helped my mind, body, and soul. I definitely have brought a few friends to take my favorite instructor and they see why I love Yoga Box! read more

I started with the 3 free classes at Yoga Box, and after just my second class, I was completely sold. I ended up purchasing a membership because of how incredible the experience was. Sophia P is an amazing instructor; her energy, the music, and the overall vibe are always so, so good. Every class feels motivating and immersive. Highly recommend! read more

Got turned away 10 minutes before class started, had a feeling because I was racially profiled.

I LOVE this studio so much! I used to be a Corepower girl, but during Covid, I officially switched to Yoga Box and never looked back! The vibes are amazing, the rooms change colors in class, and the energy is on point. If you're looking for a no frills yoga studio with the basics for your practice - flow, sculpt and recovery, come join us! The teachers are the sweetest - please take a class from Mary, Janelle, Jordan, Brogan, and Martine. read more

I have incorporated yoga into my workout routine for the past few months now, and I absolutely love going to Yoga Box in Pacific Beach. I usually come for the sculpt classes, and all the instructors I've had have been great, however Obed is my favorite! I love the energy he brings to the class. I burn tons of calories and leave the studio soaked in sweat, lol! Parking lot is small but I never have trouble finding parking. read more

Yoga box depending on the instructor is a great workout, however the smell is always what deters me from coming back. Some other hot yoga studios I go to never smell like feet/sweat as much as this yoga box does and maybe it's just because it's a small space. Some instructors also have switched up sequences so fast or make a flow that just is so hard to remember bc of how many parts they incorporate which takes me out of my flow. Again, depends on the instructor I've had some here that are really great and try to book with them. But again the smell in here is tough read more

Great workout. Felt amazing afterwards. Only complaint is no showers and their classes felt a bit rushed read more

I took my first ever hot yoga class here with Rhea and it was AMAZING! She was very welcoming and walked through the flow and moves, and they all felt like things I could do but still had some challenge here and there. I felt accomplished but also relaxed by the end of the class. Definitely try her class out, it's worth it! read more

I would rate this place one star but the instructors are super nice/helpful however the parking for these locations is HORRIBLE. I have been super late to class due to the fact that finding parking for any of these locations is extremely difficult, even arriving 15 min early seems to not help. read more

Wow, this is the nicest yoga box I've been to yet. There's only a couple of spots in the lot that you can park in, but plenty of street parking on the surrounding blocks. There's 2 rooms in this studio so they offer a lot of classes! Came in for the 4pm flow on a Friday afternoon. Checked in at the front and put my stuff in the lockers. Actual room seemed bigger than east village and hillcrest, and with a class that wasn't full I had some nice space around me which is always appreciated in a hot yoga class. Instructor was great, did a really nice flow. Came out feeling great and ready for my weekend. I saw they do an ocean plunge together after the Friday 5:30s so I'd like to go back for that. read more

Love having access to both YogaBox in PB and LJ! There is a great mix of class options and instructors, and there tends to be more space in the LJ studio which is nice. The only thing to note is that the classes aren't as hot as other studios - less humidity, but can still work up a sweat. LJ location has a detached bathroom on the roof, but the studio is new a fresh. Very friendly staff! read more

I love Yoga Box! My go to for power yoga in PB. The studio is clean with very cool colored lighting and solid sound system. I find the temperature of the classes perfect (90-95) and the instructors all very friendly, talented and knowledgeable. Meredith, Kylie, Jenna, Jaclyn, Aimee and Lauren are all amazing!!! I really enjoy my experience here. There are well spaced-out stickers telling you where to put your mat, which I love because I feel like I have enough space to feel safe practicing inversions and have my own space to zen out, but there is also a real feeling of community and camaraderie with the instructors and those practicing beside you. If I had to be nitpicky, I would love for the room to be cooled down a little bit right before/during shivasana but maybe that's just me. read more

Power yoga vinyasa with Dana was a great class! It flowed well and I got a full body stretch plus a workout!

I LOVE Yoga Box!! This location has great and encouraging instructors! I always take the Sculpt classes and am never disappointed :)

The manager here is great -- very welcoming and professional. As for the classes, I've taken sculpt classes elsewhere that felt more challenging, so Jordan's didn't quite meet my expectations. While many people seem to enjoy her style, it didn't really resonate with me personally -- both in terms of energy and attitude. She came across I felt like unapproachable. I also tried Omaid's class and, while his approach might suit some, I felt it didn't capture the spirit and passion of yoga that I usually connect with. Overall, this studio has potential, but not every instructor was a fit for me. read more

Really loved the experience and the atmosphere. Did hot vinyasa class with Lana and absolutely enjoyed it!

Amazing Sculpt class with Alex! Worth the drive from Palm Springs while visiting family.

I love that place! All the instructors are super genuine and authentic :) my favorite part of class is the mantra at the beginning then the actual class for sure :D I love the heated classes so much! The classes are always full I go mainly to the 4:00 pm or 7:00 pm classes and I love the energy of everyone showing up to class. I wish I can learn more about the playlists. Such a blast! read more

I used to go to the Hillcrest location and fell in love with it. Now that I moved, I'm going to the PB location and just did my first class there- Karen was amazing. Every location seems to be on par with the rest- supportive, knowledgeable, down to earth. The fast paced, fast moving energy also really works with me. I heart yogabox read more

TL;DR: Yoga Box is by far the best yoga studio I've ever been to. I was a longtime member of CorePower, but since I've switched to Yoga Box I'm never going back! Yoga Box hired some of the best teachers in San Diego, and every one of their class offerings is amazing. Sculpt teachers like Amanda, Jenny, Kim VF, Keira and Kathryn really kick your butt, and you'll leave class feeling sore, accomplished, and really sweaty. Power flow teachers like Andre and Amanda are also incredible and come up with creative new flows for every class. One of my favorite parts of class is the inspiring takeaway message they give, which leaves me thinking long after the workout is over. Yoga Box also does a great job of creating a welcoming community for students of all levels and really getting to know you on a first-name basis. The studio itself is clean, large enough to not be overly crowded, and has very cool lighting that changes throughout the class. The class times offered are convenient and give options for whatever works in your schedule. They also offer 3 free classes to give the studio a try before signing up. Long story short--if you're looking to join a yoga studio, there's no better place than Yoga Box!! read more

Janine at the pacific beach location is one of the best teachers I've had the pleasure of taking a class from! She is fast paced so keep that in mind if you're looking for something slow. If you're like me and want a challenge this is completely for you. Her class is seamless, to the point, and her intentions always speak straight to my soul! She helps push you so you end up achieving more than you thought you could. Love every second every class. Thank you for a wonderful experience at a super fun studio! read more

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?!!? PB has a solid new option for sculpt and cardio yoga enthusiasts, and that option is called Yoga Box. I was looking for something to supplement my HIIT gym for days when I didn't want to lift heavy or simply needed a change, and this is it. I've been in classes guided by both Derek and Amanda, and both were excellent. Their studio is huge, so there's plenty of space even on crowded days, which is something you want during sculpt and similar workouts. I've done multiple sculpt and tone-ga (or is it tonga?) workouts, which are similar to sculpt, but without weights (but still a butt kicker). I was actually concerned about tonga (tone-ga?) not being enough of a workout, but then as I needed to take break twice, well, they showed me. Sculpt was as good as it gets if you want a high-energy, toning workout with light weights (no more than 15 lbs, but most men will (and should) probably use less or grab a lighter set for some movements). There's little cubbies for your gear as you walk in, and they lock the door during class to keep things safe. There's a free water fountain in the practice room, as well as a bathroom, which is nice and convenient if hydration or the need to dehydrate comes up last minute. If you're new, the studio may be easy to miss as it's in the corner of the complex. It is in Pacific Beach, so plan a bit ahead for parking, but where they're located isn't too bad at all. read more

I absolutely love Yoga Box, I go religiously and it is hands down my favorite hour of my day. Each Teacher is so warm and friendly and I always leave feeling amazing. I have gone since they opened and I recommend it to all of my friends. I love that my pass can be used at any of the locations. Their lighting, sound system and ambiance are absolutely unmatched. My only complaint would be their very strict 8-hour cancellation policy. I feel like if it were 4 hours it still would give someone enough time to cancel, and for someone to take their spot. A lot of spots are often not shown up to because when it's past 8 hours, you still get charged so what's the point of canceling? I was also pretty surprised when i experienced a tragic death in my life a refund was still not even considered for the classes I missed because of that very unexpected emergency. either way, at the end of the day I get it, they are running a business and trying to uphold a strict policy. But it does bum me out often. and the things that often pop up in day-to-day life within 8 hours can be a lot. 4 hours would be a great adjustment to consider without compromising too much of the policy. and would give other members a chance to snag those empty spots that otherwise would have not been shown up to. read more

Wow! How stoked am I, that I finally signed up! It's been years since I've practiced yoga... I use to go every day, than I had a baby, and life changed. I've been to a class maybe three times the past five years. I've been wanting to start up again, but it just being hubby and I here in SD, homeschool, running my own business... I haven't made much time for me. I decided to take the leap, and check out Yoga Box!!! My friend Dee actually referred me, and so stoked for that! The studio is super clean and simple. The teachers are awesomely sweet and great at what they do:) my favorite part is the added color lights that change throughout class. So dope! that doesn't just mean they dim the lights during savasana. They have a system of custom colored lights to coincide with the flow of the class. I started here a few weeks ago, and I think I've been just about everyday since! Stoked to find this spot! Hopefully, they'll open more and More!
