I've been a member here for many years. I'm grateful that there are now a variety of classes (cardio, strength, signature and mindful flow). What I like most about this spot is the community. I have made some wonderful friends that I hang out with outside of class. They are all genuinely lovely people. Studio is clean and well-kept. One of the best barre experiences I've had. I joined their cardio class and it was fantastic! The class was filled with energy and steady movement, but the instructor allowed attendees time to grab water and take short breaks. I enjoyed the session and was excited to take my second class, which focused on strength. This class you have two different weight and bands to challenge yourself and give you the option to adjust to your needs. In both classes, the instructors either worked out with the group or walked around to ensure exercises were done correctly. I also felt it was easy for both beginners and advanced students to move at their own pace, maintain a steady heartbeat, and work up a sweat. The studio provides all equipment--just bring some non-slip socks and water to stay hydrated. read more

They've got a parking garage around the block which is super helpful, cubby's all your things and a great schedule of classes. I did a 45 min class with Elaine yesterday and wow did it make me sweat. I tried 4 different barre places in Austin and decided that barre3 is going to be my go-to from now on. Of all the barre places I tried, I find barre3 to have much better cardio and stretch components to it, even though they all say they have it. I especially appreciate the little meditation and breathing at the end to realy round it out. The main reason I go to barre3 over the others, though, is really the abs. The other places do abs in that C position most of the time and I find it (1) so boring and (2) so easy to do incorrectly and activate hip flexors instead. barre3 does a great job of activating abs really intentionally and varying exercises from class to class. What I don't love about barre3 is that the lower body component is very lunge/squat heavy which is not very barre-y. My best booty has been when I continually do barre classes but I know barre3 lower body is not going to get me that same effect. Also, I really hate carousel horse pose and it comes up every class. I wish they'd incorporate more of those small lifts and such like I've seen in other barre classes and really target all aspects of the booty. Witht this location specifically, I SO appreciate that parking is easy and can be validated (or free if you go for an early morning class). If you have kiddos, they offer a paid play lounge where your little one can hang out while you work out so that has to be a huge pro for some! read more

I'm a big fan of a barre3 workout, and this studio is a great place to take an in person class. If you are looking for a full body workout (that includes a lot of squatting and lunges for your glutes!) then definitely check this out. You can choose the size of weights you want (1 lb, 2 lbs, 3 lbs, etc.) and modify each pose to fit your needs for that day. The staff is friendly, and the instructors are very welcoming and try to get to know everyone. This location is right in the heart of all the Mueller stores and restaurants so allow time after class to shop or grab a bite to eat. Don't forget that you can get your parking in the adjacent garage validated for class - just grab the little slip of paper at the front desk before you head out. :) read more

I had been hearing about barre a lot and since I am not a gym person, the unique combination of yoga, ballet, and pilates was something that interests me. I decided to give it a try with their $40 for 3 class package - new client special pricing. Let me start with saying the owner of the studio Emily is super sweet. The studio is always clean and well maintained. The provide you with all the equipment's required for the class along with towels. They have 2 changing rooms/restrooms. There are cubbies to keep your belongings. You do the workout barefoot and they give you ball, weights, resistance band and a mat. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly as well. I love that its a low impact but that's definitely a full body workout, which is quiet intense and challenging and you'll definitely feel sore after first couple of classes.. But that's good .. isn't it Totally worth it! There is no competitive atmosphere and I see a passion among each instructor. I like that the instructors gives you attention and are great at encouraging us and telling us where we should feel it, and correcting form, which I really liked. A lot of concern is put into correct form, and you are always free to take that extra break or catch a breadth. They would even gladly modify the workout if its uncomfortable for you. They define the music according to the flow and adjust the studio lights as well.. which is nice distraction when your legs are shaking. Lol... I'm so happy this place has opened up in my neighborhood! I like the mix of different exercises and Love how we clam down with some yoga stretches at the end. Tons of parking too in the Mc.Bee garage (its just behind the studio) and they validate your ticket.. so Yes Parking is free ! Overall, I recommend giving it a try ! read more

Not surprisingly, I like this barre3 location as much as I like any other. I first came here before the studio actually opened over a year ago, to a free outdoor class by the lake that came with a free cocktail after. The studio opened when I was hibernating back in Kansas. I returned to Austin for the last few weeks for work, and my airbnb was three bus stops away from Mueller. It was so easy to get to the barre3 that I purchased the newbie 3 for $40 deal. I started with Miranda's Saturday morning class, and she was using ALL THE PROPS. It was intense in a good way, with weights, ball, band, and the new core sliders. I own the core sliders and did the first online workout with them on November 1st when it debuted, but this was my first in-class use of them. They are killer! I returned Tuesday afternoon and somehow ended up in a class with every instructor including the owner! That was a bit intimidating, but of course Miranda was right next to me encouraging me along the way. The class was very challenging, and to me we went back to the barre3 moves from my early days, like diamond and carousel horse. I returned for Miranda's Saturday morning class this past weekend, and once again got a great workout. It is really cool to be surrounded by all of these other women early on a Saturday morning, working hard for their own selves. Barre3 is amazing if you haven't tried it - do it! It truly works your whole body, strengthening and toning areas that you need in a low-impact way. I also like to run, and when I take Barre3 I noticed it's helped me to run stronger and longer. It's great for cross-training. I wish I would have tried Barre 3 Sooner! I signed up for a 5 class introductory offer during an event a couple of months ago. I finally got around to going. My first class was with the owner Emily. She was so welcoming and explained everything. The classes are a mixture of ballet, Pilates, and end with some yoga movements and breathing. It was challenging and you definitely feel like you get a workout. I was sore for a couple of days. Don't be discouraged if you cannot Balance. You can always use the barre for support and modify anything. There was zero judgement. All levels are welcome. Emily even sent an email so check in with me the next day, which I appreciated. We are moving from the area unfortunately, but I still hope to make it in from time to time. read more

I have heard a lot of amazing things about barre3, so I had fairly high expectations. Let me start with the people at the desk and the instructor (Sara) were all very nice. The class wasn't really what I expected though... It was basically an hour of lunges. I guess I expected something that was a bit more full body. If I had to describe it, it would be something between a boring ballet class (because there are good ballet classes, so I'm specifically saying one that is boring) and doing a lot of lunges. I get the impression the classes change in terms of what is done in each one, so maybe I hit one of the classes that is a recovery day? Overall, I wouldn't sign up based on this specific experience that I had. I think I'll try another class in the future to see if this was an anomaly (my hope). read more

My wife has been happy attending these classes in the past until recently, when she was scheduled with Madison. The reason she chose to get a membership here is because she can go along with the workouts at her own pace during pregnancy. When Madison called her out at the beginning, my wife replied with "I'm pregnant" and got a sarcastic response from the instructor in "That's great". At that point she was already uncomfortable and was feeling out of place. Later on in the class, the instructor says "ok class big movements, or really little movements" while staring at my wife. When we mentioned this to the owner - she was SUPER defensive and didn't see a problem with what happened as we asked tor revert back our membership. She said a contract is a contract and she wants 30 day written notice. Not only this but she was extremely rude and defensive as if she didn't believe the seriousness of the incident. The owners response is "Madison is our best instructor, look how busy her class is on the weekend" as if she is deflecting blame. Overall TERRIBLY rude and hope that this gets out to others considering joining in the future. read more

Unfriendly and not community-oriented. Tried to take a class through classpass. Apparently my fat fingers didn't hit "confirm reservation" so my reservation didn't go through and the reservation window was closed. They were not friendly about it. The general tone was "we're better than you" like this was Mean Girls. Their only offer (offered as an afterthought) was to charge me $23 for one class, which is really expensive considering the quality and quantity of other cheaper options (hello ToddPilates). I think most businesses would have offered to to let me reserve a later class but take the one I showed up to. I'd paid $8 for parking, and didn't get a workout. They get two stars instead of one because I've been to other locations and they do provide your typical barre class. And I'll probably be back because I live 5 minutes away and I like barre classes, but only through classpass. If it was a kind and fun community I'd pay to be part of it. I always pay my yoga studio, Energies Balanced, directly because they make more money that way and I want to support them, the community is incredible. I was hoping this might be the same. Love coming here for a low impact workout. Don't let the low impact fool you it's intense! You will sweat and get an amazing workout. If you're consistent there is no doubt you will see results in no time. WOW, went to my first class at Barre3 and got a serious workout! This is a great workout for people who want to tone and strengthen in a low-impact workout. There is a lot of squatting, hip-strengthening and core work which is essential for anyone who 1) runs, 2) wants to avoid recurring back issues, and 3) maintain a balanced muscular structure. The instructor provided modification suggestions and kept an eye on everyone's form. I decided to try barre3 because I had friends rave about it, the location in Mueller was super convenient for me, and I was ready for a new challenge fitness-wise. My first class kicked my butt, but in the best possible way. The low-impact is great for my bum knee (4+ surgeries!), but I still feel like I get a fantastic workout in (depending on the choreography I'm either sore or sweaty or both) and have the opportunity to push myself to my edge. The teachers and other students are welcoming and friendly (though we are often rushing out the door after morning classes!). I never feel self conscious when I have to modify one of the movements and they provide lots of options if you have issues with your knees/shoulders/ankles/etc. I've already noticed a huge change in my balance, strength, and muscle. read more

Interesting to find so many billing issues mentioned on here. I had my account frozen, then a few months later my husband called to terminate the membership (which was billed on his card). I assumed that because he was the cardholder and had called to cancel the membership it would be terminated, as that is logical and ethical business. However, my husband spontaneously started getting billed monthly again, I had no idea my membership was re-instated (thus was not able to utilize the membership at all) because no one communicated that to me. He picked up on the charges after being billed for two months. When I contacted the studio instead of being apologetic they were rude and full of excuses. Very disappointing. Be careful and get VERY straightforward answers about billing so you do not get scammed. read more

I rarely review on Yelp, but I had a bad experience at this studio and thought I should let everyone know. They aren't very welcoming there and the teachers don't seem engaged, especially to new students. I asked to put my membership on hold because I injured my back from their classes, they still charged me. (Maybe I was doing it wrong, but they never corrected me). I then asked to cancel, they charged me again and refused to refund me the month they charged me when the account was supposed to be on hold. Overall, I paid $300 for 3 classes and they still weren't understanding of my situation even though I was very kind throughout the entire experience. The advice I give is to try not to dive into a membership, I recommend trying a 3 class pass and see if you like it. Hope that helps! read more

I've been going to barre3 at Mueller since they opened and continue to be grateful for their expert instruction that has made me a stronger, more centered person. Like a lot of folks, I am at my computer a good chunk of the day and was suffering chronic back, shoulder, and neck problems when I found barre3. I no longer suffer back issues--seriously!--because of the focus on core/back/booty strength. All of the instructors, including the awesome owner Emily, are really friendly and are happy to consult on best practices, modifications, etc., basically whatever it takes to feel good in each individual's body. One of the things I really appreciate, besides the killer workout, is the fact that the culture at this barre3 focuses on strength, listening to your body, and honoring your body, as opposed to "weight loss" (which does happen by the way) or how you look. In short - if you want to get stronger and enjoy a lovely sense of community in a beautiful space, this is the place! read more

First time doing Barre ever, and barre3 in Mueller was the perfect place to go! Emily, the studio owner is welcoming and friendly- if you are nervous about going here- everyone that works here will be quick to greet you and show you around to make you feel comfortable! I took a class with Katie Newton and she made us WORK! I really liked this class because there were no long sequences to remember or overly complicated movements. The workout was extremely effective- I know if I came here regularly I would be in awesome shape!! The music was fun, the energy was high, it was a great way to get a sweat in!
