We came for dinner on a Friday. We were happy they could accommodate the six of us since they were busy. We caught Happy Hour just in time (6:30 pm). We had the veggie gyozas for appetizers. I had the sashimi salad roll (no rice) and hamachi kama for my meal. Everything was good. The restaurant is casual and cozy. The staff and bartender were fun and friendly.

Hidden gem in downtown Burlingame! The food was delicious, fresh, and very reasonably priced. I chose their dinner combo with soup, salad, California rolls, Saba, and ribeye steak -- everything was flavorful and nicely prepared. I also loved the variety of selections on the menu. Rick gave wonderful service and was very attentive to both me and my dog while we enjoyed the nice weather outside. Will definitely be back.

This is under new ownership under Ken Wang. He has done an exceptional job and taking over and adding his own touch to it. The sushi is fresh and the service is on par like his other ramen restaurant, Hanabi which is just down the street. They had a live band today from Aragon High school which was a festive event for this kick off lunch. Great job Ken!

Stopped in for a light lunch before a Dr's Appt nearby. It was a "treat yo'self lunch" for me so I decided to order a few of my favorites. I ordered the butterfish sashimi, which they call the Escolapacho. I love butterfish or escolar, whatever you want to call it - it's so creamy and delicious but can be bland without flavor. They key with good butterfish dishes is the sauce that goes along with it. This one has garlic puree, spicy ponzu, fried garlic and shallots. I also ordered a spicy tuna roll, which was delicious - but not as divine as the Escolapacho. This was a great place to stop for lunch and really quick.

Lunch bento 7 days a week, which is rare. Upcharge for like everything that isn't gyoza or something generic, LOL. Bento box with Saba and upcharge spicy tuna roll. Just average tasting, nothing special. Only one waiter so be patient, he's doing his best y'all.

Came here a couple of weeks ago. We used to go to Barracuda when it was in Serramonte but they closed. We've been wanting to try this place for a while so finally had the chance. We were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant ambience didn't feel like a Japanese restaurant-felt like a Mediterranean place. Very dark decor and dingy. The food was disappointing and we had such high expectations of this place. We had edamame (not complimentary), chicken katsu, short ribs, spicy tuna roll, the best of the best roll which was not the best. In fact the texture was too mushy, no crunch or freshness to it, so I couldn't finish it. Everything else was ok and over priced! Not sure if we will be back.

Love the new look! Warm and inviting with added touches and patio dining and landscaping and plant arrangements. As always the food is amazing.

Barracuda is off the main buzz of Burlingame Avenue so I enjoy that part of it. Outdoor dining is available. We went at lunchtime on a rainy day and ate inside. Service gets a thumbs up! As does the Tuna Tataki that I ordered and the bento box with shrimp tempura & a California roll that came with salad, rice and miso soup. The interior could be updated, especially the upholstery of the seating area inside...but at night, I'm sure the fireplace creates an ambience that is delightful and romantic. Go try out barracuda and see what you think!

Incredibly delicious, Anytime I travel to Burlingame, I go to Barracuda. Just make sure you ask for their hot tea as well. Bo Appetite

The place is quite pretty. We opted for a small table outside , which is much quieter. Our waiter was a bit stiff around the collar. I suspect he is an old timer, and clearly, we are not regulars. Regardless, the food is great, and the prices are reasonable. The Food: Zucchini Cake, $15 - 4.5 Stars Menu: crispy zucchini cakes with cucumber & mint-yogurt dressing These cakes are ball shaped, deep fried, and made a healthy veggie taste naughty type of good. Very yummy. Lol Tzatziki, $9 - 5 Stars Refreshing and delicious, the tzatziki is an excellent complement to the meal. Octopus, $19 - 5 Stars I really need to stop eating octopus, but when I am in a Greek or Spanish restaurant, I am weak. Grilled octopus legs are soooo good. Their version is grilled just right, not too much char, plus they smartly removed the hardened tips (common) before serving. See photo. Lamb Shank, $34 - 5 Stars Menu: aromatic braised lamb shank with orzo & myzithra cheese The lamb meat is tender and falls off the bone. It is cooked just right. Mykonos Souvlaki, $31 - 5 Stars Menu: herbs marinated tenderloin, shallot & rosemary skewers I enjoy a tasty protein and produce meal, and this dish is perfection with tender pieces of tenderloin over a pile of veggies. It is everything I want.

There seemed to be quite a few parties indoors, which feels more like a club. Service was more leisurely than on previous visits due to the heavy amount of guests dining on a weeknight. Started off with the zucchini cakes and they were quite tasty. They were super flavorful and had a tasty dipping sauce that complemented this dish. The grilled octopus was gigantic and cooked to perfection, while not being rubbery. The lamb riblets were tasty as they were tender and served over a bed of arugula. The brussel sprouts were tasty, albeit a touch on the smaller side. Opted to share the chilean sea bass as the main course and it was gigantic. The sea bass was very fatty and buttery. I loved how this dish was served with some super soft potatoes and creamy spinach. The skin on the sea bass was also quite satisfying. The Galaktoboureko recommended by our waitress was merely so so. I find the version at Evvia much better. There is a 4% hospitality support charge added to the bill.

Interior is dimly lit, small tables and a mix of seating styles to choose from. This was my first time visiting, but my party had a great time here. I went with their namesake drink, the Mortar and Pestle. Great and served in an actual mortar, with a lit cinnamon stick, which was a fun touch. Server was fun and friendly; loved his hat! The real standout for me, though, was the Summer Whip which I got to drink as my friend ordered one too many. It was amazing with the coconut cream making it super smooth. A mabye "dangerous" drink where you can barely taste the alcohol but feel it a few minutes later with how well rounded the taste is. We really wanted to try the After Hours at the Teahouse, as it was recommended, but sadly it wasn't available for our visit (out of pandan). Our server mentioned it doesn't even taste like alcohol (like the Summer Whip), so I'll be back to try that one. Cool bar, fun atmosphere, and solid drinks. Feels like it's best for drinks in a small group as the tables don't go too large.

Each dumpling was packed with rich broth that you could sip before enjoying the rest. The popcorn chicken was crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the pan-fried buns had a perfectly crispy bottom with a juicy filling. The only letdown was the braised beef. It was much drier than before, and the portion seemed smaller this time. Let me just say... wow! The Chicken Tandoori was one of the best I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavor. This was actually my first time trying Chicken Tikka Masala, and I completely understand why it's such a popular dish. It was rich, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy at all. Paired with the garlic basil naan, every bite was absolutely delicious. I'm Middle Eastern Americam Afghan, and our cuisine is known for using a lot of herbs, spices, and bold flavors. Because of that, I'm very picky and skeptical when trying new restaurants. Rasoi exceeded every expectation I had. Every dish was seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the manager, Axel. He went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience. He has outstanding customer service, an incredible personality, and so much passion for both the food and the restaurant. To the owners: you truly found a gem. It's hard to find someone who treats a restaurant like it's their own, and Axel definitely does. I'd also like to recognize our wonderful server. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but she was working behind the bar making drinks while also taking care of our table. She was incredibly kind, attentive, and such a sweetheart. The entire staff made us feel welcomed from the moment we walked in. The IPA was fantastic ice cold, crisp, and incredibly refreshing, especially on such a hot day. It paired beautifully with the food. To top everything off, they surprised us with complimentary ice cream, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. It instantly reminded me of Afghan Qaimaq Chai. It was creamy, refreshing, and the perfect ending to an already incredible meal. I'm already looking forward to coming back with my family. Next time, I can't wait to try their biryani! Thank you, Rasoi, for a great dining experience. You've definitely earned a loyal customer, and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine paired with exceptional customer service.

When I found out Stella was participating in " Flavors of the Peninsula", our suburban version of Restaurant Week in the city and that the 4-courses included a truffle gnocchi course, I made a Monday night reservation for two. The $65 prixe-fixe menu offered some of our favorites. Of course the best came first. Their version of truffle gnocchi is simply perfect - four delicate hand rolled pillows swimming in butter with fried sage leaves and truffle oil. I always have to stop myself from canceling everything else I've ordered and piping up " eight more gnocchi please". I opted for the salmon and my kid really likes Stella's chicken parmesan. The Stella salad features a yummy champagne dressing, candied nuts and cranberries in a nest of butter lettuce. The salmon was delicious, though the thinnest parts of the fish were a tad overcooked. The broccolini', spinach and carrot combination were fantastic, as were the perfect mashed potatoes. Kyle loved his chicken and made me take a bite if his pasta- yummm. Generally we are not dessert orderers but we were delighted with the lava cake and caramel gelato. It was a lot of food, especially for this restaurant and a true bargain at $65 for a four course meal at one of our neighborhood favorites that we generally save for special occasions due to the price tag.
