I thought I would have to throw them all away and it would be a lost cause. I came back to pick them up today and couldn't believe how clean and brand new they looked. I still feel like they had to have gone out and bought the same shirts, couldn't believe it was possible to recover them. Moreso, I was charged the same price I'm normally charged even thought they were so much dirtier. I don't have many dress shirts so I go here once every week and they have been so nice and the shirts have come back perfect every time. I've been going here for years, and my clothes have always been cleaned beautifully. The customer…read moreservice had also been consistently good, which makes this experience even more disappointing. Last fall, I brought in a suede jacket for cleaning and was told it would be sent to a specialty cleaner because it was suede. When I checked on it in February, I was told it was taking longer because the suede cleaner had been on leave. When I followed up again last month, I was shocked to be told they had never received my jacket. After checking their system, they insisted I had never dropped it off. What disappointed me most was not even the lost jacket. It was the lack of accountability and the complete absence of an apology. I was not asking for compensation. I simply wanted someone to acknowledge what happened and say they were sorry. Instead, when I pulled the owner aside to express my disappointment, she looked at me with confusion, as though I was making the whole thing up.

I planned to wear it to Delta Mu Mu Chapter of Omega Psi Phi's annual Seersuckers & Sundresses event in Atlanta, Georgia--where fashion is king! What seemed like a simple alteration turned out to be much more complicated than I expected. I visited several places, including one of my go-to seamstresses, and was told that converting a double-breasted vest into the wraparound style I envisioned would be nearly impossible without significantly altering the entire piece. Then I met Anthony and his team at Swift Cleaners. They accepted the challenge with complete confidence. Anthony and I even spent about 30 minutes talking about fashion, fabrics, construction, and the look I was trying to achieve. That conversation alone told me I had found someone who understood that clothing--especially a statement piece--is about more than simply making an alteration. When I picked up the vest, I was blown away. Anthony and his team made a difficult project look effortless. More importantly, they approached it in a way that made me feel as though no job was too complicated and no detail too small to deserve their attention. Now that is customer service. Swift Cleaners has officially become my new go-to tailor. Their attention to detail is exceptional, their work is meticulous, and their customer service is outstanding. Highly recommended!

I expected to have to leave my jacket and return days later. To my utter delight, James took a quick look at the jacket and advised that it may require a patch to preserve my valued garnet. James carefully re-examined my jacket and repaired it on the spot. As I inquired about the charge for the repair and expeditious service, James quickly replied that the repair was a "Thanksgiving gift." As I insisted further, James politely declined to accept any payment. Whilst this repair seemed rather routine, I was immediately impressed by Penn Cleaners' commitment to customer servic. As I waited for my repair, I observed that the other customers knew James by name and appreciated the efficiency with which he located their items. .I am now a Penn Cleaners customer as well.

A gentleman walked in with a garment that was basically unsaveable while I was there and they said, "Hey, we will do the best we can, but we can't guarantee it." They are truthful and honest. That's not something you get from very many businesses these days. I would recommend them over anyone in the Navy Yard/Wharf area, and I've been to a few dry cleaners out here.
