Hungry & weary, we opted for the only tho f we could find open at 12:30am - a Viking/heavy metal bar with food- sigh. Surprise - the food is excellent, the beer is excellent, the service is excellent. My wife & I both had the wild boar stew served on a bed of polenta- it was fantastic. If you are not very adventurous or if you are too old at heart to handle heavy metal music (I grew up on it in the 90's so it was like a trip back to my 20's) maybe it's not for you, but if like having fun & tend to find it wherever you are you will probably think it's very cool like I

If you have to pick one place to eat in La Spezia, make it this one. I'd go so far as say you…read moreshould venture out of Cinque Terre just to eat here. Don't let the metal music theme scare you off. This restaurant is filled with personality and served us the most satisfying dinner we had in Italy. We ordered: - Testaroli with pesto: So unique and tasty. The testaroli were perfectly chewy and perfect for soaking up their delicious pesto. When in Liguria, you have to eat pesto! - Pork shank with caramelized onions and porcini mashed potatoes: Oh my God. This was spectacular. Magical. Phenomenal. You need to try this. - Braised wild boar in barolo sauce with polenta: Also delicious, but overshadowed by the pork shank. - Panna cotta with strawberry sauce: Tasty but I wish they wouldn't serve it in a jar. Half the fun of panna cotta is watching it jiggle on the plate. Portions are huge; the pork shank alone could've fed two people easily. Prices are very reasonable. Instead of wine, they have a great beer selection on tap. My husband enjoyed two wonderful beers excellently recommended by our waiter. Between the warm welcoming vibe, medieval decor, friendly staff, and unique metal ambiance, my husband was ready to move in immediately! Looking around, everyone was so happy with their meals, and the energy was infectious. It's very popular with tourists and locals alike, so you need to make a reservation! We made ours by emailing them months before our trip, and they were very responsive. In short, eat here and get ready to enjoy one of the best meals of your life!

And plus, this region of Italy is known for their pesto so why not make some of our own and create memories. The class is about 2 hours long and comes with all the ingredients to make the pesto. lunch and drinks were also included. Our instructor, who's also the owner taught us some great techniques so we can also make the best pesto at home. Just simple fresh ingredients and a good time. There was also a contest for whoever makes the best pesto. Whoever makes the best, wins a prize !!! We also got entered in to a dance competition. And guess who won? Yours truly. This was truly a one of a kind experience. We had so much fun learning, eating, drinking, and shaking our tail feathers all while having the best view of Manarola. This is the class you don't want to miss! Book yours today!!!!

We decided to do their famous pesto-making class, and honestly, this ended up being such a fun, enjoyable, and entertaining experience. The owner, who leads the class, was so approachable and eloquent, and I really loved that it wasn't just about making pesto. He actually took the time to explain the ingredients, the tradition, and the proper way to make it, so the whole thing felt surprisingly educational while still being very relaxed and fun. Music was great, lots of energy, beautiful views, and just a really happy, social vibe, that was the atmosphere. You're basically making pesto while overlooking one of the most picturesque views in Cinque Terre, so it's hard not to have a good time. At the end, you get to enjoy the pesto you made completely from scratch with a really good-size charcuterie board with fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, bread... Would I come here expecting a Michelin-worthy meal? No. But would I recommend it for the experience, the view, the ambience, and a fun afternoon in Manarola? Absolutely. Sometimes it's not just about teh food-- and Nessun Dorma is definitely one of those places.
