We were only here for about 16 hours, but we are wishing we could have stayed longer. Very cozy and the owners are really nice.

With the passing of my Dad (he and Mom also had always wanted to stay here but could never afford it), I said charge it!! and booked an overnight stay. So glad I did. It was every bit as magical as I thought and the snowing during our stay made it even more so. The history, attention to detail, preservation, detail Oriented caring staff all led to an amazing stay I will never forget.

We booked a New Year's Eve stay for our family--three young children and my pregnant wife--and made that clear when reserving. Our room wasn't ready until after 4 PM, and when we were finally placed, it was directly above the ballroom hosting the New Year's Eve party. The noise was relentless for hours and made it impossible for our children to sleep. After multiple calls to the front desk, I spoke with the manager, Thea Ritchey, who told us the hotel "always throws a New Year's Eve party," was fully booked, and there was nothing she could do. Her suggestion was essentially "if you can't beat them, join them." With no resolution offered, we packed up our kids and drove over three hours back to Boston in snowy conditions that night. One stay was enough to end a family tradition--we won't be returning.

Rabbit Hill Inn - Fireplace in the room. The decor is in line with the Inn experience. Room was super clean.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we really enjoyed sitting in front of the fire place at night after a long day. My rabbit loving sister especially enjoyed all the rabbit decor. The food was amazing! We loved our breakfasts and the dinner we had at 24 Carat, as well as the drinks served at the snooty fox. Definitely one of the best places my mother, sister, and I have stayed.

They made several GF items that were above and beyond. Every meal or afternoon tea were accompanied by special GF items and my wife said they all were delicious I again asked foie gras for my appetizer both nights. Phoebe Grace knew a couple weeks ahead. They came through again. Dan, the chef varied the preparations and hit the mark on the second night. Perfect!! The amount of GF thought was amazing. We did not have to remind any staff. They already thought that GF diet restriction through and had items ready for my wife. Essentially, they were 3 course meals. The breakfasts were to die for. Essentially, they were 3 course meals. Mark sat with us during our dinner and was very very nice. The inn's staff is frequently changing. BUT, the quality of service continues to be excellent. The cabins are also a bit too close together so you can hear people talking all around if they have the windows open. The fire pit was perfect and right on the little stream behind the cabin. I think next time we will try to rent one of the cabins on the other side of the bridge just for a little more privacy and quite. Inside the cabin I really liked whatever Incense they had burned before we got there and that they had everything we needed in the kitchen. One issue was that the dishes were not clean when we got there so we had to wash a few before using. Also in the bedroom one of the screens was not properly attached on the bottom so when we opened the window we ended up getting a lot of flies and mosquitos inside. The bathroom was a bit tiny but i expected this with such small cabins. The walls in the shower are not attached to the wall though so do not lean on them or you could break or tip it to the tip (couldn't tip it over though). Main problem with the bathroom is that after a hot shower and you open the door it sets the fire alarm off that right outside the door even if you had the window open to let the steam out. He was definitely not happy being woken up at 6am because I wake early. All in all I would stay again but I would defiantly pick one of the back cabins over the front one we stayed in.

We had an indoor toilet/shower, heat, running water and electricity! To me that's a luxurious cabin. Not to mention the fireplace- that was perfect to have at night for just relaxing with a glass of wine, celebrating our new engagement. Although it's somewhat close to the road, we never heard traffic, and since it's such a rural area to begin with, there's not much traffic anyway. We truly felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. There are some cabins on the other side of the creek that are slightly more secluded for people who want that.
