Rustic Log Cabins gives customers a unique opportunity to experience the north woods. My wife and I have rented twice for a romantic getaway, and both times have been fantastic. The cozy feeling of having your own fireplace, nestled in the serene beauty of the white mountain area of New Hampshire, it truly is an experience. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable. They offer a nice amount of wood priced fairly, with complementary marshmallows to roast in the fire. You can rent snow shoes also. The location is very close to all the attractions the white mountains offer. Skiing and snow mobile trails. This is a wonderful location to stay at while your in northern New Hampshire. I highly recommend this lodging to anyone who wishes to get away and relax, but close enough to all the attractions to have a great time.

The couple that run this place, Alana and Emile, are awesome and you can tell they put a lot of work into it.

We had a fantastic long weekend went to several different places did some good bike runs around the area checked out Polly's pancake parlor one morning. We went over to a brewery over in Vermont. Some of us went to Ben & Jerry's. We all went to Cabot creamery it was just cool. One of our members Curtis always finds cool things to do. They always manage to get just the right amount of fun stuff packed since the weekend we could hit one day where it was raining on Saturday, but a bunch of of us got together and had card games in the pool, pool house and had snacks and everything. We had a good time went by vast sometimes I wish it was longer, but sometimes it's just the right amount of time, but this lodge is just amazing. They're right on top of everything. There's nothing you want. They're always able to give you whatever you need. It is close to a Walmart which unfortunately they're not as nice as the people at the lodge. I had also left something there. Call back a couple of days later if they had found it and they even held onto it so I got some friends to go pick it up for me and like how many people do that they don't even find what you're looking for. But really good people great service enjoy going there every year I mean, even if we don't go there again I'll still take it as a long weekend with my honey and some family members and go ourselves cause it really is a good time.

Within hours of arrival, we were forced out of one filthy, unsafe room into another that was even worse. We encountered mold, broken fixtures, hotel doors with no lock, and blood-stained bedding on both the linen of all beds (what was stated to be possibly from drug users that frequent the location). Staff admitted the rooms were unfit yet failed to provide clean linens, stating cleaning service was unavailable and my wife and I would have to strip and remake blood-contaminated beds ourselves while our children slept in personal blankets in chairs due to the time of night. The situation escalated into harassment, dishonesty, and ultimately a police visit based on false claims made by staff (Kevin Jam). Management (Bija Patel/Vin Patel) upon discovering Jams harassment, mishandling, and misrepresentation of facts to Law Enforcement (which he was warned of) misrepresented their role, stating there was nothing they could do other than a 10% discount on our stay due to my family "being publicly humiliated in the hallway late at night". Upon departing, we contacted Best Western Corporate, they informed us although they utilize the Best Western name they do not recognize their affiliation. This property demonstrated severe health code violations, reckless staff conduct, and a complete disregard for guest safety and basic human decency. Avoid this hotel at all costs. When attempting a refund through Best Western they stated although the property utilizes the Best Western name they do not recognize their affiliation.

Despite few guests they could not offer a 20 minute early check in because they weren't cleaned yet. Security was lacking with unlocked but unmonitored doors around the clock. The staff was warm and friendly. I only have one criticism. While the A/C was working, we had difficulty regulating it to feel comfortable. It was rather cold and clammy at night, but by morning, we felt fine. It wasn't so much the cold part that bothered me, but the clammy part was what got to me. Everyone kept saying how unseasonably hot and humid it was for Stowe, so who knows... maybe the A/C just had difficulty regulating itself... or we didn't know how to use it properly. It wasn't bad, per se, but it was a little uncomfortable some of the time. The room overall, though, was really great. Also, we loved that they had Netflix and Amazon Prime, so we could settle into the shows we were missing while traveling. That was a nice surprise ! Most hotels don't offer any of that. We had planned to dine out at one of the local restaurants, but we found out they were serving dinner at Grant's, the inn's restaurant. We were tired after traveling around all day, so we stayed at the inn and ate a great meal at Grant's. (See separate review for that.) Also, the common areas in the main building next to the restaurant are very tastefully appointed, spacious, with lots of games, books and sitting areas for people to utilize. We walked around them to see what there was but returned to our room to relax and watch some of our shows. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. One night in Stowe just isn't enough, especially at the Stowe Village Inn. Let's hope there will be a next time !

The price / night was reasonable, the breakfast included was very standard (coffee, tea, some breakfast pastries / bagels) but did its job to keep us energized for the days of exploring Stowe or hitting the slopes (!) Cons: this hotel is marketed as walking distance to the Ben and Jerry's Factory. While it is true they are half of a mile down the same road, THIS IS NOT WALKABLE! It is all highway with no shoulder and a blind curve. it is also uphill the entire way in case you decide you are not afraid of lots of fast cars and want to brave the walk. I really wish the hotel would offer a shuttle. THERE IS NO UBER IN WATERBURY. There are local "taxi" services (private car services, really) who will give you a ride to B&J for $35. Also of note: the breakfast included Vermont maple syrup, but there were no pancakes or waffles to put it on. I ended up putting it on the severely overcooked bacon to try to soften it up and to be able to experience the local syrup. Additionally, the hot tub jets were not working. It was still a nice soak and was clean and not overly chlorinated, but jets would have been nice. Other than those three complaints, our stay really was great. The rooms were larger than expected, and everyone who worked there was just fantastic.
