Cute carrot shaped butter served with the bread in the restaurant

A visit to Rabbit Hill inn was a just what we needed after the holidays to slow down and unwind. Such a quaint and quiet spot, we felt like we stepped back in time when we entered the main Inn to check in. We booked an outside room that had a beautiful comfy bed, large bathroom, and two chairs poised toward the fireplace. This room screams "slow down, sit, talk, reconnect". No television, only board games, puzzles and books to aid in your quest for relaxation. The afternoon tea offered in the main inn was lovely, and seeing couples and small groups working on the very challenging Stave puzzles in the parlor was nostalgic. The attached restaurant was fantastic. We loved our dinner and the included breakfast was delicious with a surprising array of homemade baked items, granola, fresh fruit and yogurt and a choice from 2 huge hot dishes. We took day trips to a couple of breweries, visited Littleton where we shopped and had dinner on the water, then walked over the covered bridge at night. This area of the country is beautiful, the drive alone was a relaxing experience, with snowy, sunlit hills to admire along 93. This trip holds a special place in my heart and Id like to make it an annual visit whenever possible.

I googled "romantic weekend New England" and this place came up. Took a chance on it based on their positive reviews. Booked a long weekend stay in their Turnabout room. Decided we should also get married while there. From the very first phone call, they were beyond helpful with ironing out all the details. They also helped us schedule an ATV tour and provided a generous picnic lunch. You truly get what you pay for. I have never in my life experienced such genuine hospitality. The dinners, breakfasts, midday snacks and beverages, the service everyone gave us, all the attention to detail- everything was out of this world. They really made our weekend special. I did not want to leave :,D !!! We can't wait to come back again.

Loved our gas fireplace, on with the flip of a switch!

Trade in your technology for a one of a kind romantic getaway and culinary experience. Rabbit Hill was hands down the best bed and breakfast we have ever been to. Every exquisite detail has been attended to with the utmost attention. From the cozy decor throughout the property, to the outrageous, NYC caliber breakfasts and dinners, to the warm, welcoming rapport that our hosts Leslie and Brian developed with every guest, this was unforgettable experience, not just a place to stay. A few favorite highlights: the bunny decor scattered around, including one in the room a la elf on the shelf, fire places in every room, spacious accommodations with couch for lounging, handmade puzzles available at all hours, drinks at the Snooty fox pub before dinner, unique and friendly personalities for all employees, turn down service during dinner, silky red robes, little treats left on our pillow each evening, the breakfast - enough said, the lists of outstanding vendors and activities in the area, booking our activities in advance on our Behalf, afternoon treats in the lounge, among many more. I'm not sure whether the rabbit Hill makes the guests the friendliest versions of themselves or if that's the type of clients who go there, but everyone we met were just the nicest people we have ever encountered. We will absolutely be back again to see what the other seasons of Northern Vermont have to offer, and can't stop raving to our friends and family about this restorative haven in beautiful Lower Waterford.

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary with a getaway weekend at the Rabbit Hill Inn. We would not change a thing. We had an extremely relaxing and romantic weekend at RHI, nestled in the snow-dusted Vermont countryside. We stayed in the Music Room, an ample and adorable suite with a gorgeous four-poster bed and glowing fireplace. My husband and I live very busy, technology-consumed lives and it was awesome to put down the cell phones and play Scrabble, darts and chess for the weekend. My husband, who is a sleep-deprived physician, said our night at RHI was the best night of sleep he has ever had. That alone was wonderful. But wait... there's more... Our dinner was amazing. The RHI dining room is gorgeous with a stunning fireplace in the main room. My husband ordered the ricotta gnudi, Chandler Pond chicken, and the cheese plate. I ordered the parsnip soup and pan roasted fluke. Every bite was magnificent and there's something to be said about how nice it is to leave dinner with a full stomach and go straight to your room to relax afterward. Breakfast was equally satisfying. I had an olive/ricotta quiche and my husband had apple pancakes - both were outstanding. Our experience at the Rabbit Hill Inn was everything we wanted it to be and a memorable and romantic way to celebrate our first year of marriage.

If you are ever in the area you HAVE TO STOP BY even for 1 night. The owner of Rabbit Hill Inn are very friendly and welcoming. I will NOT forget the little details like welcoming note on the bed along with chocolates and candles burning in our room when we returned from dinner. Food was A M A Z I N G !!!!!!!! Brian , Leslie and the staff - Thank you for such a great experience and we really did feel like HOME away from home. We will definitely be coming back :-)

The breakfast spread, I love the bunny bread!

We couldn't feel more lucky to have had our wedding here. My husband and I met in Vermont, but we live in New York City. We knew it was going to be complicated planning a wedding from afar, and we simply could NOT have done it without Christy. "She is worth her weight in gold!" my Dad said at one point during the planning process, and boy is he correct! We had a million questions, and for every one Christy had an answer that made perfect sense and calmed our nerves. She is an expert at this and has endless brilliant ideas about how to make the party flow. When we were clueless about how to make something happen, she took the lead. And when we had a particular idea -- a maple creemee truck, bringing a jazz band from NYC, a table with thousands of cookies -- she let us lead and helped make it happen. She even helped find a basketball court in town for my husband and his groomsmen to play a game! Above and beyond is an understatement. On top of that, the venue is spectacular. You can tell Christy and her wonderful husband, Gary have put love and thought into every corner. We threw our entire weekend right here -- a welcome party the night before, yoga on the grounds the morning of, a ceremony on the stunning hill, and of course an incredibly fun reception in the cocktail pavilion and barn. Our guests from New York City, Ohio, California, Connecticut all raved about how special it was to celebrate here, and my husband and I didn't even have to leave the grounds once we arrived on Friday morning! I'll never forget the feeling as each of our friends and family arrived at the Alerin Barn and the enthusiasm and fun that abounded the entire weekend. We wanted our wedding to be a warm, sophisticated, Vermont-y, special PARTY. Christy and Gary helped make it real at every turn. And the breakfast they make you each morning is an added delight. We can't thank you enough, Christy and Gary! We will forever be grateful and can't wait to visit our favorite place again in the future. Have your wedding here!! Cannot recommend it enough.

Driving to the Alerin Barn makes one a little skittish about its usefulness as a wedding venue…read more You climb and climb a mountain road where deerskins hang in the trees and cars sit on blocks in yards. But when you enter the world of Alerin Barn and the Keeper on Horned Pout Pond, you leave all of that behind. The property is a world unto itself-- a fully refinished farm house, a gorgeously restored barn, a pond-- and, in a meadow up on the hill (a short cart ride away, but walkable), an outdoor chapel for wedding ceremonies. The farmhouse has ample room for both halves of the couple to dress in, and a few rooms for guests to stay. The chapel has rough-hewn wooden benches and an arbor under some trees. When I photographed a wedding there the staff had brought lemonade service up for the guests. The property owners have also made an adorable cart that pulls behind a tractor to carry your guests up to the meadow where the chapel is. The barn itself is well redone with room for tables on both floors and a walk-out patio on the second floor. The DJ booth is on the second floor and overlooks the dance floor. There are patio tables by the pond and a floating dock that you can walk out onto. The staff is wonderful (both the in house and hired in staff) and the owners are personable and very, very capable. The wedding I photographed there also featured a fireworks display over the pond, it was spectacular.

The venue is a splurge but it was totally worth it for us. We did the whole weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) and made the most of it with a welcome dinner Friday, Saturday wedding, and Sunday brunch. The venue is really beautiful with tons of greenery and flowers, it cuts down on the money and effort you need to put into decor. We got so many compliments on the venue from our guests. We primarily worked with the owner Deb and as it got close to the wedding, also with her new hire Abby. Deb knows weddings and she knows her venue inside and out so she is very chill to work with and makes sure to account for all the details. Communication was very fast and clear. Underrated but one thing I appreciate a ton is all our communications were in a single email chain so it was really easy to find. Abby coordinated with us day-of to cue us to walk down the aisle and otherwise they were seamlessly in the background. The vendor list we got was a little out of date with some being out of business or not having websites, but we picked a few vendors off the list so it was helpful. Having onsite lodging was great. The master bedroom was very comfrotable and it was nice to have our own bathroom. Most of the rest of our guests got Airbnbs (we blocked hotel rooms and offered a shuttle to Conway but no one took us up on it). Overall I would highly recommend Locke Farms Farm as a wedding venue!
