I got the ribeye, medium rare. It came out grey on the outside and cold inside. I sent it back for the Caesar salad instead, which came out and was about 1/4 Parmesan cheese. My daughter got the Mac n cheese from the kids menu with a side of carrots and celery. It came out refrigerator cold with three baby carrots, after over 30 minutes of waiting. She sent it back and had it microwaved in the kitchen. We got had one beer at our table, but the bill had two on it. When I asked our waitress to remove it, she removed the wrong one and left a larger sized and more expensive beer that we hadn't ordered. After reading the reviews, my expectations weren't very high for this place. Since we're staying at Great Wolf Lodge, I took a chance and booked a reservation for my twin sons' birthday dinner. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. We ordered the calamari appetizer and I had the Lodge Salad with grilled shrimp. Both were very good. My family and friends ordered burgers, chicken sandwiches, and grilled salmon. Everyone was pleased with their dinner. The service was good also. If you have a larger party, I recommend telling the server to bring the food out as it's ready because the warmers they have aren't that great so the food will get delivered a little bit cold if you have a large party that you have to wait on. Can't say anything about the food, since it never showed up. I made a reservation the day before and we were seated promptly, so there was that... Drinks showed up, but no refills in the 35 minutes we waited for a steak ordered medium, children's spaghetti, and a bowl of soup. It should not have taken long to prepare it. We decided to give mobile ordering a shot. 1.5 hours later we were finally able to have dinner at just before 10 pm. This time the order was 2 soups, a salad, and the kids spaghetti. Yep, took an hour and a half to throw that together. Soup was cold, so it probably sat for awhile. The great thing was the soup and spaghetti warmed up my salad nicely! Oh, and why bother with putting spoons in my bag...we are at medieval times now. My daughter didn't mind the soup, she even said "I am going to savor this since it took an hour and a half." Oh My Goodness! First of all...the reason for the fifth star is 100% because of our server Tre. He was truly the best server I can remember having in years, at any restaurant. He was friendly, funny, attentive and personable, without being intrusive in any way. We had 4 kids with us ages 2-12. He ensured a great experience for all. Our food was wonderful. I have celiac so have to have gluten free. The chef came to the table to confirm their knowledge of my allergy and assure me which items were GF. There menu has a large variety of GF options. Kids portions are incredible, with a variety of sides with each entree. To be honest, our stay at GWL has had many frustrations. We were not expecting much out of dinner at the Great Wolf Lodge, but Barnwood was very good. Friends had told us in advance to make reservations on the Yelp app before we arrived as they book up fast and I'm glad we did. We chose 8pm so the kids would have plenty of time at the water park before we went to dinner. Appetizer: We ordered spinach and artichoke dip and it was the more cheesy type like I like it. This was a great start. Dinner: I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich with buffalo sauce. I had to send it back the first time because there was literally no chicken on it, it was just fried batter. It came out much better the 2nd time around and the server could not have been sweeter about it. I appreciated the kitchen taking care of it, no problem. My wife ordered salmon, but they were out, so she went with the shrimp pasta, which she thought was pretty good. Kids menu: They had a nice kids menu that was a little more expensive than most kids menu (as expected at Great Wolf Lodge), but the kids loved the Mac and Cheese and fries. Dessert: We ordered the fried chocolate chip cookie and ice cream, which we destroyed. It was so good! Service: Our server took great care of us and got the kids food out in advance which was nice.
