Been a few times here at Barneys Beanery, Burbank. Love the breakfasts... Barney's version of Eggs Rancheros is so tasty, like Southwest style, abit different than Mexican. A different red blended sauce, not spicey,, but can add, with all the extras (guacamole, sour cream, bell peppers, onions, etc.). Also the Omelettes abundant with lots of filling and sides of various stuffings. Great wholesome coffee too, can keep refilling with own novelty cups. I've been to this Barney's Beanery numerous times, and it's always a great experience! The ambience is unique and fun, the servers are kind and attentive, and management is definitely on their game. Most recently, my friend and I came here to watch The Oscars. I know it sounds unconventional for a sports bar, but it was perfect! We had a prime seat in the couch area towards the back - makes you feel at home :) Tina (manager) was so accommodating, in addition to Taylor and Jesse providing top notch service. Really great place to watch a game, sound is up, decent food, regular menu a bit on the pricey side. I really love the setup at the back with the sofas and tables facing a couple big screen TVs, like you're at home! You do need to get there early for spots though. Service has been decent considering how busy they are when games are on. There's also stadium style seating in a section before for that, but haven't sat there yet. I've been here two times. The NHL Winter Classic (Wings vs Leafs) and Game 1 of Kings vs. Ducks playoff game. The Winter Classic was in the morning on January 1. What better way to celebrate the New Year than watching hockey? There were already a number of people with Leafs and Wings jerseys at the sofas and chairs. So we ended up sharing a table with a couple hockey fans but could still see the big screen tv. I had the bacon stuffed pancakes which were not bad. For Kings vs Ducks, I got there a little early and was able to secure a table behind the couches. I got the protein and eggs with chili which was decent. I'd be more enthusiastic about the food if they weren't so pricey for what you get. Service was pretty good though. Hard to believe I'm finally getting this off my "unfinished review" list! Barney's is a great stop-over joint if: 1. You've got a bit of time before your movie starts. 2. You're just out of the theater and need to wind down from that action, space, thriller, zombie, rom-com flick. 3. You're looking to watch your fave sporting event while noshing on some really good bar grub and sucking down on some tasty beers or concoctions. There's no shortage of flat-screens here. Set yourself in front of the bar & find yourself watching a dozen screens with a huge projection smack dab in the middle of it all. Got yourself a group? Behind the bar area, find the projection screen in front of the "bleachers" and have a hell of time getting served up by your wait-staff while feeling like you're sitting at the game! Outdoor patio seating is available as well, with water misters drenching you during the Summer months or sizzling heaters threatening to melt your whiskers to the side of your mug in the Winter. Either or, flat-screens are out there too, so you won't miss out on watching USC, Lakers, Dodgers or the NFL. Yeah, it's that kind of bar so wear the appropriate colors or prepared to take a friendly ribbing from some of the regs. Now, I'm not gonna say, this is the "cleanest" place or their vinyl bench seating is never sticky & the tables are spot cleaned, nor am I going to say that the men's room is graffiti free & the freshest smelling in all the land. Nor will I say that their food is 5-star Michelin rated or the bar (automobile) seats are comfy and don't need a stitch of redoing the upholstery & that there's no chance of your long sleeve shirt wiping up a residual beer spill on the bar. NO, I won't say any of that... However, I will say that their beers are cold and their menu is tasty. I will say that their HH prices are fare and not to be ignored. I will say that my wife loves their sliders & onion rings. I will say that the female bartenders are really easy on the eyes...and I will say that I've never had a bad time at this joint. I like the location in Santa Monica better, but this location is KRAZY! It was packed and pitchers of beer was flying out of the bar like krazy. The ambiance here felt great. I swear it felt like we were the only asians though. Food wise, it was so-so. I love their clam chowder but I like the one at Santa Monica better.Don't ask me why I just do. Our group ordered the 1/2 rack with BBQ sauce, Shrimp BBQ, Mexican burger and a pastrami sandwich. The 1/2 rack was tender and a little chewy which is the way I like it. But the sauce was a different story. It tasted like.... sour ketchup. I would recommend getting the sauce on the side if your not sure whether you will like it or not. The BBQ shrimp was awful. The shrimp didn't even taste BBQ's besides the fact that it was swimming in BBQ sauce. I've never seen so much BBq sauce for a serving with what I ordered. It was like, BBQ shrimp soup. I was craving happy hour yesterday after a grueling chemotherapy class. Studying makes you want to drink...Right??? It was already 6pm and our choices were limited. I had no intention of hanging out in Pasadena AGAIN, so I thought Glendale or Burbank. I did a search for "Burbank happy hours" via my bestest site...Yelp and found Barney's. Happy hour stops at 7pm...NICE!!!! T and I flew over there and found a booth at the bar. Cool decor! The chairs at the bar are old car seats. It looked pretty comfy and I wanted to check it out, but alas they were all taken. The ceiling is covered with license plates and Christmas lights. There are television of all varying sizes everywhere, even behind you. I think Barney's might be the place to watch Superbowl. No one should be complaining they can't see the TV. Beers are $2-3, well drinks are $3, and the selected appetizers are half off. I was able to load up on 2 drinks for the special price. We also ordered the buffalo wings and Irish Nachos. The wings were a bit too tangy and the ranch sauce was too watery. They were stingy with the celery sticks..Only 2!!! The Irish Nachos were yummy. They are diced potatoes covered in cheese with sides of sour cream, salsa, guacamole, and chili or beans. As you all know how I love cheese, I was scraping it off the plate. It's a pretty cool place to watch sports, have cheap drinks and food, and relax. They even have a big projection screen with Wii Games. I saw some kids playing it. Came here first time ever even though I have passed by this so many times before. Stopped by here cause my boyfriend wanted to watch the SF 49s vs Chicago Bears game. Anywhoo... They have a wide range of food options from pizza to burgers to Latino food to salads to bar food etc. Yes they do serve alcohol even though we didn't order any since we were not in the mood for it. It is a great place to go watch any game on since there's even a small tv next to you if you're not near the big screen ones and yes there are buttons on the side of the tv for you to change the channel to the game you want to watch. Came here for a friend's birthday. Pretty cool spot to hang out on a weekend. They have some cool imported beer from several different countries. They have a huge variety of all sorts of different foods. Unfortunately, it was the third bar spot we hit that night and I wasn't hungry. I still managed to order some chili cheese fries and some mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was really creamy and rich in cheese flavor, it was topped with bread crumbs. First of all, they serve a drink in a hollowed out pineapple. How cool is that? That said, though, try the Malibu Mistress. It may have a funny name, but it is TASTY. You could drink those like juice, probably because they have a large juice component (but still have alcohol!). As for food, there's pretty much something for everyone - breakfast served all day, a wide selection of chili, burgers, sandwiches, salads, you name it. In terms of service, this location is kind of a mixed bag. When we were first sat (promptly, with no wait, on a Saturday night), service was excellent. We were constantly checked in on, and I couldn't believe how quickly we received our drinks and later food upon ordering. Very speedy. However, after receiving our meals, service became lackluster. I guess maybe they just didn't want to seem as if they were rushing us out, but our waitress rarely returned and never offered to bring the check or anything. Water glasses would sometimes remain empty. And dinner ended up being a 3-hour affair, not that I truly minded with the conversation and company I was keeping. Still, even upon finally asking for the check, I believe it took about 15 minutes to actually get it. Overall, it's a decent place to go for a meal or a drink, particularly if you're a sports fan since there are multiple games on everywhere, and there was even an individual TV at our table. Today, I went to Barney's around 6pm to have a few drinks before my movie at AMC started. We told the host a party of 2 and she told me 10-15 min. I gave her my mobile number thinking we would be getting a text or call to let us know our table was ready. We went to the side to watch 3 parties of 2 be seated before I walked to the host to ask if our table was ready yet. She never acknowledged my question and asked me if I could sit outside. Acknowledging what I had just seen would've been polite and an apology for seating 3 parties ahead of us since we arrived before all of them. She sat us at a table inside and we waited for 10 minutes before anyone approached us to ask, "Has someone come to your table yet?" Positives: 1) parking is always free for this location - multiple no-pay garages & plenty of street parking are both available in the area. 2) I've been here plenty of times. The food is always good. I had the Texas chili with jalapeno corn muffins; the mister had Barney's omelette. We split an order of buffalo jalapeno poppers. Everything was hot & pleasantly flavourful. Negatives: (not going to number these, as I might run out of digits): We waited nearly 20 minutes for someone to even take a drink order. We were waited on by four different people, all of whom were nice enough, but they acted like they were bored out of their minds and doing us a huge favour by taking and delivering our order. There was some inconsiderate 53-year-old A-hole outside yelling and cackling with his friends. We know he's 53 because he announced his age before treating all of us to an a capella concert of screeched, lewd rap lyrics. We complained about the racket to someone reporting to the manager, who couldn't be bothered to come talk to us even though we'd expressed our experience was less than satisfactory. While the food was good, my bloke's omelette arrived without the chili that was supposed to accompany it, and our plates were whisked away before the poppers arrived, yet no one thought to bring us another set of utensils and we had to get up & ask for them. The inefficient service will keep me away from this location in the future. How hard is it to fake a smile & make sure somebody has forks? That's your job. The best part of this experience: my beer was really good. (Not that it was the one I wanted, mind you - upon ordering my first choice, the waitress brusquely informed me they didn't have that one in stock at the moment.) If you want prompt attention & a cheerful server who pretends that she gives a shit, go elsewhere. Anyways, yadi yadi we ordered, another person brought our food. We didn't have to wait long to get our food which was good I guess. Now for service, we probably saw our server like 4x. 1: she brought out our menus, 2: asked us what we wanted to drink, 3: asked if our food and everything else was ok and 4: when we waited long to get our check. Ok maybe saw her 5x when we paid with our card. We wanted to get refills but didn't get any, needed more napkins but I decided to just use the towelettes from the wings I ordered because it was just taking too long and I was over it. Great place to go to if you want to grab a drink and watch a sports game. There's a TV on the wall for each booth table and a giant screen in the middle of the restaurant with two couches in front of it. You can change the channel to whichever game you want to watch on the side of the monitor. The decor is very casual and fun, pictures of celebrities cut out all over the tables and fun Great selection of beer/drinks. The menus are newspaper-style and there are a ton of options - breakfast is served all day, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, mexican food, and dessert. Don't expect high quality for the food, though. I ordered the cali burger (comes with guac, bacon, jalapeno, cheddar cheese) and a side of fries. Fries were standard, not phenomenal. The burger was really sad, though - the patty itself was pretty thin and not juicy. I expected the flavor to be decent, especially with all of those additions, but it was incredibly bland. I think the guac lacked seasoning and it made the overall flavor disappointing and very monotonous. The atmosphere and decor is fun for when you want to watch a game and drink a beer, but don't come here expecting anything more than standard bar-quality food. read more

The potato skin was not huge first of all and it was just a fried potato with a cheese and bacon nothing special nothing tasty just two sad little spuds on a plate. After a great night at Flappers with the hillarious Tony Baker I wanted to continue my evening with some good food and this really disappointed. I will never be back and if your're smart you won't ever dine here. Props to my Pacoima fam for taking me here this past weekend because this place was awesome and I had a really good time.. The staff here were all very helpful and attentive which made my experience that much more enjoyable. The set up inside consisted of your usual bar/restaurant equipment and entertainment (pool table, games, tv's, etc.) but IMO were all definitely a step up as compared to other similar places I've been to. There was also stadium seating which I thought was interesting (perfect for watching sports and fights). I have come to love a trip to Barney's Beanery that always seems to come up when I'm in Burbank. Located right off the 5 near the mall and IKEA, this place is very easy to find for those not familiar with the city. Bonus: they've got a few free parking structures right next to it! Barney's is possibly the best place to come watch a game, but if that's not what you're into it is also a great place to eat and drink. TV's on small and large screens are everywhere, including at each individual table. There is also a stadium set up where one can eat and watch on a ginormous screen. Right behind that is also another giant screen, but with couch seating. And then of course they've got bar seating and some outdoor seating. I, not being a huge sports fan, have never come when it was packed with a huge game on so I can't speak for that. I've come during dinner and late nights when they've got quite a crowd though and the service has never faltered. Every waitress I've had has always ben friendly and helpful. And now onto the food. O the food. This place has so many different kinda of food to choose from, I'm always questioning what to get from all of the options. Breakfast is served all day, there are tons of random appetizers, pizza, sandwiches, chili, salads, soups, burgers, and of course the desserts! I had the parmesan brie chicken sandwich and it was very cheesy and very yummy! I love how they let you pick from a few different sides if you're not in the mood for the typical french fries. I saw smores on the dessert menu and knew whether I was still hungry or not I needed to have them. I was not disappointed. They give you a plate with a flaming mortar (not sure how it seems to stay lit) with enough smore fixings for 4, plus a few extra marshmallows to roast. So delicious, why don't more places offer up these campfire treats?! Drinks are pretty much always spot on, though on the pricey side. They've got a great drink that comes in a pineapple called the WeHo. My friend did get a very disgusting Bloody Mary here once though so be careful when ordering that one. I really dig this Barney's. Mainly because of this stadium seating thing they have going on -- albeit not on my game on this given Sunday. My only gripe is that a few things on our bill were more expensive than advertised on theme menu. Ie Mangria said $8 hut came out as 8.50. So little sketchy things like that. Also $4 for a can of high life. R u for realz ?!! read more
