The technicians and mechanics are great, once they get their hands on your ride. But the service admin and booking staff need a refresher course in customer service. I booked an appointment about two weeks in advance for a simple 40K service and to have my cruise control checked. Brought my ride in at 9:30am on time and spoke with the "service advisor". She informed me that the service would be about 3 hours and my bike would be ready that afternoon. So I went to Moxie's for some breakfast and then later to Starbucks to plug in the laptop and do some work. When I returned to Barnes at around 12:30pm (now the afternoon) I was pissed to see my bike sitting in the exact same place as where I left it about three hours earlier. When I asked the "service advisor" she said they were waiting on a special service tech to look at the cruise control. I asked, "Well, in the past three hours couldn't you have at least done the 40k service while you were waiting?" (Not to mention that nobody told me they needed a special service tech or that he didn't come in until after 1:00pm.) Her only response was, "Well I told you it would be ready this afternoon" What's the point in making a 9:30am appointment if your ride is simply going to sit in the sun for 3+ hours!!! What happened to common sense, customer service and respect for your customer's time? When I mentioned all this to the person sitting in the office with "general manager" on the door his only response was "I guess I'll have to speak to her". Finally, at about 1:00pm (and a half day wasted) a mechanic got his hands on my ride and did an excellent job. I'll have the cruise control, and all future servicing, done elsewhere. read more

I wouldn't disagree with the other posts. I had a bad service experience here but they did refix their mistake. Still not acceptable though. Service department needs a lesson in customer service, but management seems very approachable and helpful. The ladies in clothing know their stuff and there's a great selection of clothing and accessories. Just don't take your bike there for any serious service. Try Jarz Performance in Abbotsford. I have had my bike in there two times. Took it out the 1st time because the parts were back ordered and I could still ride her. Move forward 3 or 4 months. All parts are in, so I'm thinking a month max. This was late February 23. Now it's June 23rd, road trip in two days! By bike is still not ready, and being GOASTED by Barns HD. I'm bringing a trailer, and calling ICBC to let them know I will be finishing the work myself if the parts are not on the bike. And yes, Parts are in and painted. But because it's ICBC, ACCORDING RVICES MANAGER IT TAKES MONTHS!! WTF, the parts are in, put my bike back together! I will never recommend this place nor will I ever go back for anything! read more

There are 2 great guys that I've delt with 1 is Sanjay and the other is service tech named sunny . As for the rest of the team they flat out suck they sold me a bike that's supposed to have a 2-1 pipe and dummy pipe and tuned!! They only put the 1 pipe on no tune no nothing. Then it took over a month and several calls and hrs of time and 3 trips from chilliwack to langley to finally get the dummy pipe. In the end the parts manager basically said well ur shit out of luck for tuner. She said your m8 motor will learn to adapt to a pipe WTF!!! NO my pistons will melt or blow my motor!! I had 3 shops that have 20 years plus with 5 star review tell me that's complete bullshit!! Long story short deal with those 2 guys buy your bike from Sanjay u will get a smoking deal tell him Paul sent ya but as far as the rest of the store parts or service just run away as fast as u can before u get screwed like me and dozens of other reviews state on here from all the way to 10 years ago I would give barnes 0 stars if I could!!! read more

Really quite sad, this dealership is like a unicorn when it comes to customer service! To get 3 oil changes done to my 2014 Ltd. (primary, crankcase and transmission) plus a brake flush I phoned a total of 5, that is FIVE times to make an appt. Each time I received a recorded message including the service manager saying they would get back to me. Guess if I was purchasing a bike it was a big deal, but obviously my request fell on deaf ears! PART 2 of 2 When I returned, he pulled my bike out and told me that it was all done and handed me the keys. As I was going over the bike, I noticed white residue on the engine and primary. I went to turn on the bike and the low fuel light came on yet it was full of gas which alarmed me. I grabbed the same service guy and asked him to come out. I asked him what was up with the fuel light and that maybe when he swapped the tank he missed something, to which he said that they didn't swap the tank, rather, they only color buffed out the scratch because he felt that it would be cheaper for them to do it that way. I had to use the cuffs on my coat to get rid of the white buffing compound off my engine. At that point, I just left. The low fuel light eventually went off on its own. I feel that there was deceit that occurred throughout my experience of buying a so-called new bike. I don't know if it was intentional deceit or terrible communication within the various departments or other factors, but it did not leave me feeling a satisfied customer. I am quite satisfied with the bike in itself, rather it was just the dealings leading up to the purchase that I am not satisfied with. I personally will not likely return to Barnes Harley Davidson for future purchases. I have had much better experiences with a different HD dealership in the lower mainland and to save myself the frustration, will utilize them instead. read more

I bought a new Road King from Deeley - the experience was OK but they are arrogant and not very customer focused. I was in the neighbourhood on Saturday and bought a helmet and other stuff from a very nice Barnes sales assistant. Based on this experience I thought I would change from Deeley for future parts and service. Since then I have left two voicemails with the parts line enquiring about the availability of certain parts and also asked the receptionist to get someone in parts to call me. Its now days later and no return call so its looks like I will have to stick with Deeley read more

I had negative dealing with them in the past and last summer I stumbled across a good deal... Took seven weeks for the deal to be completed a MPH speedometer to be converted to KPH as per their claims all vehicles are Canadian compliant a minor issue. Well, the service writer is a ... I purchased extended service plan and when I took bike in for a nail in tire I paid full deal for the work, he never called Mother HD and when I informed him that in fact I have the tire protection plan he went into full I am new here please bare with me. Suddenly the tire was worn beyond the 4/32 nds limit and never showed me the tire , just pulled that number out of the air. There was also some other work that was not completed , but charged for and when told bike was ready for pickup it was still dirty. $130.00 an hour and they still can not have the bike ready for p/u after 4 hours?? Brian Barnes didn't get back to me Service Manager said, don't call us we will call you and this is still three weeks after the work was allegedly completed. Save your dollars, go to Chilliwack Barnes has not bought them. Go to Trev Deeley they are a little better at least when they call you , you know the bike is washed, the work is correct/completed and they do not need to Bravo Sierra the bill. Go to Black and Gold, Wizard Motorcycle Customs in surrey off the SFPRoad or Team Don I Port Kells. Jarzz Performance is another choice. Go talk to any of these shops before you leave your Sweat Equity at Barnes HD in Langley. Road Glide Bob says so. read more

Recently had a 40k service and put on two new tires. Tires were purchased elsewhere due to the much lower price from what Barnes was asking. It cost nearly $300 to have them installed. I don't know if this is the going rate but it seemed a bit steep. Brought the bike in at 9:00am for my pre-scheduled service but didn't get the bike back until just before 4:00pm. I don't think it should take a whole day to do a regular service and install two tires. read more

Just been on holidays for two weeks from northern BC doing the big loop over to the island when to Vancouver then to Calgary Edmonton then back home to fsj I have pretty much hit all the Harley-Davidson shop so far the one in mind me is that one that I recommend has the best service sales ladies and so far the most hopeful!! keep your wheels on the pavement how fun be safe!!! read more

I purchased my new Ultra limited from here this summer. I had an excellent experience shopping and buying from Barnes. I started looking for a new bike at the beginning of the year, over a few months I was able to test ride a number of different bikes. I was able to narrow my search down to my Ultra limited with the patient assistance from a knowledgeable pleasant sales person,Laura.I have found all the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. I have returned many times for accessories, service and apparel. Based on my experience I would highly recomend to anyone interested in anything Harley to give them a try. read more

I have yet to have a bad experience at Barnes HD Langley. Twice they have worked on my Ultra Classic, and twice have done good work. I felt informed at every step and all work was done well and in a timely manner. Even the $10K rash removal went well after I got hit riding in Surrey two years ago. They were open and honest regarding issues they found during that repair (fuel sender, tires, etc.) and even helped arrange custom paint work for the fairing. Most recently they performed my 48K service...dropped off Saturday afternoon, picked up Tuesday afternoon, at what must be their busiest time of year. They even tracked down a short in my wiring that kept popping the headlight fuse whenever I rode in the rain. The only thing that kept this from being a five star rating is the shop rate. 30 year Harley man. even back when they were not reliable.I've fixed them,built them and fixed my buddies bikes .So finally i decided too purchase a brand New street glide with a performance package.Love the bike Very excited $ 35,000 purchase who wouldn't be. I find a certain amount of arrogance in Harley dealers anyway,SOME staff act like they invented the bike. Since there is only 3 in the lower mainland and I was treated poorly by Deeley's way back in the 80's and wrote them off ,I hear they're still the same. Not willing to chance it. I now have a choice of 2. Chilliwack and Barnes. Unless I go to Kamloops or the Island I chose Barnes.Paid in full over the counter no trade in. I was told it would take a week.I phone back in a week,I'm told parts are back ordered from Screaming Eagle. OK not impressed,but S---T happens. I'm told nothing they can do.call back at the end of the month.I purchased it at end of the previous month.Weather's gorgeous so it's killing me. So I'm looking through the catalog. See a back light I like better.Determined not to make the same Mistake.I phone ,ask the the parts guy if it's in stock and he can physically put his had on it .Yep its here. I tell him OK put it on and I'll pay the for the light when I come in to pick up the bike. I phone nobody will phone me back,so I ask for the the Manager the receptionist ask why and I get redirected.too service ,they seemed to be nice enough said he would check into it. Again I'm told towards the end of the month.So I suck it up. 3 weeks go by and I decide to physically go there ,takes a hour with rush hr. to get there. I go to parts and ask what's up with my parts.He says,"it shows here as completed". But now the tail light is on back order,I said cancel it right now. I go to service they say bikes been done for a WEEK. I ask why no phone call, they point at sales. I go out to the showroom find the sales man who sold me the bike.He tells me He can't be expected to remember everyone, he can sell 20 bike a month,now I'm getting pissed off. I'm sure everyone gets a stage 4. So we walk all over the place and in the back we find my new bike covered in greasy hand prints.from maintenance. He says I can take it as is if I want. Since I didn't know it was done and have to go all the way home again for a plate and helmet and take another hr+. I said no you can wash it. Then I had to come back yet again to get the owners manual.they forgot to give me.another hr. Also when I first went in with my quote from Chilliwack.I was told how Barnes would meet it and they do little extra's. The extra was a plug in for a heated vest for the passenger. Be still my beating heart, that must have cost them a whole 2 bucks. Chilliwack would have gave me the first service free.$500 you don't need to be a math major to see where the value is. I'm not saying the whole staff is bad far from it. But what I am saying is the right hand doesn't know what the left hands doing. They are a big dealer mainly because Barnes is a car dealer and people can trade cars in on bikes. I put a review on there site with half of what I listed here,thinking maybe the manager would read it and call me ,maybe cut me a deal on the first service or something. since I wasted a month of expensive Fire and theft insurance in his shop. But I'll be damned if my review wasn't removed and there was no flaming or swearing. Thus this review. lets see you delete this Barnes. I'm buying all the rims and extra's and the first service and every other service else where.Enjoy my money Barnes it's the last you'll get.That includes cars and trucks,and other Bikes. I believe in giving people a chance to correct their problems before complaining,but this place won't even address the fact they have them. If you want to feel third rate go too Barnes their nice until they get your cash. Highly recommend NOT taking bikes for repairs to this dealership! They are so incompetent and will do damage to your bikes. I've let these people work on two of my bikes and they keep returning them back to me damaged. Paint damage, misassembled, left loose or flat out don't put all the parts back on after wrenching. Low oil after trans repair, engine oil puking all over right side of engine after top end work. Ripped breather hoses reinstalled and umbrella valves not replaced at time of top end repair. .50 cent seals that came in the gasket kit that should have been put in at the time the pistons were replaced on my dime. Four little bolts in the rocker boxes about 40 seconds worth of effort to prevent oil barking out of the air can. Because they did not do this job right it was my responsibility to pay to have it done again. These people would not address noise concerns I was having until another oil leak same place....barrels base gaskets. Keep in mind I've paid for new .005 over pistons and machining for the last oil leak [WARRANTY] and the labour. All Barnes paid for was the $40.00 gasket kit which they never put the whole thing in. The Ph call...."Bad news your engine is blown." "It needs to be rebuilt." I ask: "Is it under warranty?" Service writer:....."Yes, $56.00 deductable." I'm told metal has gone through the whole engine do to cam tensioner failure. The noise I was complaining about!!!!!!!!!!!!!......... Three months ago. Complete rebuild. Having seen the engine apart and seeing damage in the barrels I was reassured that the pistons and machining would be redone; cams, chains, oil pump update. But to my surprise when the bike started barking oil out the air can after the rebuild and I called to find out if the pistons were replaced and machining was done; No Pistons!!!!!!!!!! I was told that the warranty company would not authorize it. IS INFACT; A LIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The warranty company had canceled the warranty due to an after market part on the bike; [Power Commander]. This part was on the bike sold to me with the warranty. So Barnes was on it's own to rebuild my motor on their dime and choose to cut corners by not replacing the pistons or machining and only putting rings in. Never telling me the warranty was canceled then trying to get me to pay for the engine rebuild due to their mistakes. Yet AGAIN - Top End - NEEDS TO BE REBUILT with new pistons, rings due to excessive 'blow by'. This place is a Gong Show!!!!!!! There are plenty of complaints about this company on Facebook. They are being erased almost as fast as they are going up. I can only assume that there is a party monitoring Facebook to remove all the complaints of their rotten work. One star is way too high of a rating for this outfit. PLEASE POST HERE: ALL YOUR BAD DEALINGS SO THAT NEW BUYERS ARE NOT RIPPED OFF BY THIS COMPANY. Barnes can not erase your post from here. I will never go here again. My wife and I packed our Tbags and set out from Roseville California on our Harleys to visit our good friends that live on Quadra Island. My starter drive shot craps on the ferry from Port Angeles so I pushed it off and called Barnes. No one ever answered the phone in 3 phone calls. I called the parts department and finally someone answered. He said he had 3 starter drive clutches in stock for my Roadglide. We got her started after about an hour and half cool down and went straight to Barnes. When we got there the service manager told me they would not be able to start on the repair for 2 weeks! I explained that my wife and I were over 1000 miles from home with no reservations and needed to get to Campbell River to catch the ferry before dark. He could've cared less and told me to bad maybe you should go back to the mainland. Lucky for us a good guy named Noel Panchy showed us the way to an indy shop and they fixed us right up. The owner Ted Gordon told us he gets many pissed off customers from Barnes. Sad story. read more

worst Harley dealer in western Canada! made an offer on a bike a year ago, they did not accept, no problem. A year later was in the market for another bike saw a nice fxstc with low k they wanted 12400 i offered them 11400 cash no finance, they declined and did not get back to me, I left town on a hunting trip. Randi the sales rep shots me a text saying they are selling the bike for 10000. Cell reception in my area is hit and miss so i head out of the bush,im in pg get on a flight and head home to get this bike! Randi sends another text the bike is now selling for 8000 wtf! im now on a plane 550 dollars worth and cant get a message out. I land phone the dealership, bikes still there rent a car drive like mad get there they close and im informed they sold the bike for 8000???? same bike i offered 11400 for and was declined??? let my feelings known the next day too Greg Barnes, obviously he didnt care. Got the last laugh though went back to Trev Deeley and bought a beautiful 2015 Breakout at a price i dont think Barnes would touch, was treated so well at Trev that i came back and bought a new Street glide had too finance that one, But no pressure and my offer was looked at right away and had an acceptance or counter within min. Was visiting area from the states. Bike broke down. Had it towed to BarnesHD. Got me in and out promptly. (Fortunately parts on hand.) Had my bike in for servicing - not much I can say which is good about this service department. Never again will I go to these guys for anything. Same story as the previous post on this site. "they are doing me a favour" I think not. they promise to call, they promise to get it done. There is NO follow up and they have an attitude that stinks as much as an elephant's turd. I will never recommend these guys and I will make sure that if I hear the Barnes name in someone else's conversation I will be sure to turn those people away from this place. read more

My email to barnes General Manager Hello Brian, I purchased a 2001 fxdx form your barnes Langley store. Apon purchase I added the installation of new handle bares and cables to be installed. being told I could pick up the bike once the installation was complete I left a happy customer. The following I received a call asking when I was coming to pick up my bike. I stated that I was waiting to get the handle bars put on but apparently the parts where all still on order so I might aswell come get it. Before arranging a ride to be dropped off there, I called to make sure that someone would be there to complete my insurance for the bike, which was confirmed. Half hour later I was dropped off, and no one was there to do the insurance. Asked where the insurance broker was and was told he was out and should be back soon. After over an hour the broker shows up and we try to complete the insurance. Now his system is down and he tells me he cant do the insurance today and to come back. unfortunately I was dropped off there and now have friends waiting at the dealership to go riding with me for the first time, so I really need him to do it. eventually after an hour his system works and he get it done. I realize it was out of his control and the problem was solved. The following week I to stop by the shop to use a gift card and find out my parts had arrived a couple days prior. I ask if I can book my service appointment and was told I would be called be the service department to book the appointment. Days go by and no phone call, when I call I get sent to voicemails and get told I will be contacted. finally I receive a call on June 24th, over a week after my parts had arrived. I am told that I am booked for july 10th in two weeks. That is 5 weeks after I had already paid for the service and almost 4 weeks since the parts had arrived. So I drop of the bike on the 9th to ensure the service department had it first thing in the morning because I had planned for a motorcycle trip that weekend and hoped I could get the bike back before days end. I called mid day to check and was told it would not be ready until 530 which was to late to leave for my trip to 100 mile house. I said I would just pick up the bike sunday. when returning from my trip I had a voicemail from the service department stating that hey had ordered the wrong cables and that my bike wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. I Call the service department on Tuesday and was told that the parts were on back order and that they had no idea when the be getting them in and there is nothing they could do for me. So after work I drive to the dealership to speak with Jim my sales men. We talk to the parts guys and they say that the parts are gonna be there first thing tomorrow morning. next day I call and am told they were missed on delivery and that they would be there and the bike would be done at the end of the day. near the end of the day no one has called with any news and all my calls are redirected to voicemails where I have already left more than one message. now today I have called and have been told by service that the have no idea what is going on with my bike, I have left more messages with parts department, still no one will call me. I called jim directly and asked if he could at least tell me what is happening and he assured me that the parts department would call and talk to me asap. After a few hours I am now writing you. Hoping someone could give me any news on to the state of my bike. any news would be better than no news. I couldn't be more disappointed with the customer service I have received at barnes Harley Davidson. read more
