The staff is always friendly, and the food never disappoints. This is my go-to spot whenever my comadre and I need a dinner date. We sit by the bar, order drinks, appetizers, and dinner, and enjoy the perfect atmosphere. The ambiance is always just right--not too loud and not too quiet. The drinks are amazing, and the food is always fresh and phenomenal. I have recommended this place countless times, and everyone I've sent here has fallen in love with it just as I have. I highly recommend the grilled octopus appetizer along with the mussels in wine sauce. You really can't go wrong with any entrée. I personally love seafood, so the seafood pastas are always my favorite. Love, love this place!

I ordered the chicken parm sandwich which was served on foccia bread. The bread was soft and the chicken was perfectly crispy. The sandwich was served with a side of sauce and I opted for French fries as my side. I would say the side of sauce would have been better if it was on the sandwich already but it may have made the foccia bread soggy. They were attentive and accommodating to me and my friend. The ambiance was nice. It would be a good place to go with friends, family, or a date. The food was great! The calamari was very good. I could tell they seasoned it, which is not typical for calamari in my experience. The carbonara pasta was delicious. I have a hard time finding carbonara pasta in the Chicagoland area, and I was glad that this pasta was delicious and semi authentic. For dessert, the sticky toffee carrot cake is good! You have to love sweets in order to like it though because I could see how it could be overly sweet to some people. The sour cream gelato on top was top tier. I never tasted anything like it before. It was so good that I ordered some scoops separately.

Tonight we stopped in to make a catering order for a family gathering next week...I love to cook but Mama Luigi's is a perfect "substitute " for my homemade Italian menu. We decided to stay for a light dinner ordering from the appetizer side of the menu. Grilled calamari on a bed of crispy fried spinach, a huge Sunday salad with homemade meatballs and bruschetta with hot Italian bread was perfect! We were served by a sweet gal named Agnes, who treated us like family. She was attentive, friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor....which is greatly appreciated. Afterwards we ordered cuppacino and Agnes proudly said that she makes "the best"....she was absolutely right! It was the most delicious, frothy and beautiful cuppacino I've ever had....and I've had plenty. So take my advice and try Mama Luigi's if you haven't already. It's a gem waiting to be discovered....by YOU!!
