    We were very happy to have barn own boxes installed by Tom in our yard and in our neighbors yard, to house a nesting pair. After many promises of delivery and install of the 2 boxes, Tom finally delivered. They looked great. Until the roof started peeling off of the Ornate Box Tom had installed on top of a pole. Sent him pics of the damage in Jan 2021 and in Feb 2021 Tom said "No that won't do at all. I'll replace it the week after Feb 20th." Since then, I have emailed him over 7 times with varying responses that he is headed my way within the week\month to replace the box, but none have ever materialized. He no longer responds so I am not sure he is okay anymore but, I wanted to let people know about this because we have been polite and kind for 3 years asking for a replacement for our Ornate Owl Box that Tom's early emails agreed to. Since we spent over $1000 for the 2 boxes and installations by Tom, I can now say I regret the expense. No owls yet either but that is not Tom's fault plus the Ornate Box in our yard barely has a roof over it anymore. Probably not best bet for an owl looking for a nest. See some of the attached pics I emailed Tom to show him the box. To be fair, the plain box in my neighbors yard appears to be in good shape so if you must purchase here, perhaps that is a better bet, although I don't see this box on his website anymore. They all look like some version of the Ornate Box that you see in our attached pictures, which have undergone progressive degradation since Tom's install.

    This is the greatest review I will ever give. Why, continue to read! I bought our house with an owl box. It was made of wood with a makeshift tin sleeve around the wood pole. In a heavy wind and rain storm(in the middle of mating season) the entire pole and box came down. My wife and I were very upset and we called several places till my wife found Tom's services. He came out the next day!, uh huh! He and a partner installed way better boxes on way better poles. The next two days were anxiety filled. Our owls returned! For two boxes and poles it was a grand but Tom and crew made life much more grand. Call him get natures pest control working for you in the best way.

    I recently purchased a home which had extensive rat damage to the HVAC unit underneath the house. There were poison bait boxes throughout the property. I made sure all the entrances for possible intrusions of rats were closed off and I knew I didn't want to continue with the poison bait boxes. I researched the advantages and natural way of using owls for rodent control. I selected Barn Owl Boxes because the owner Tom had an extensive background on not only the use of owl houses but knowledgeable about raptors, and he really loved what he was doing. He has even written a book on owls and owl houses. It took about a month after I purchased my owl home for the installation but I was fine with that and he was punctual on the day of installation. He gave me several locations on where to install the home but was more keen on a certain location which I agreed to. To my disappointment and surprise a neighbor complained that the owl house was obstructing his view of the canyon. I called Tom as I didn't want to deal with constant complaints from the neighbor and I really wanted the house to be enjoyed by the owls. Tom came back the next day, removed the house and we found a new location for it. I'm just waiting for the owls to find their new home! Tom is really an expert. He knows owls from years of experience and he's personable and honest. He has my stellar review . I have attached a photo of the new location which everyone loves

    Here is my barn owl box that is falling apart and there are owls inside.

    I desperately needed to replace my barn owl box because it was falling apart and the owls could be in danger. I called Tom at barnowlboxes.com and he got back to me the same day explaining to me what he could do to help. I ordered the box and he was able to take care of the problem quickly. He his very knowledgeable and professional. Thank you Tom for saving my owls.

We hired them for rodent control, and the owner, Jeff (fairly speaking is a pro), never clearly explained that the service was a one-year subscription. After the fact, they told me over the phone that rodent control is "never a one-time service," which I can understand -- but that is not the same as agreeing to a one-year contract. At no point was this clearly disclosed to us upfront. Later on, we started getting billed for additional visits, which came as a complete surprise. When I questioned this, they insisted that everything was in a contract. The problem is -- I never saw or signed any contract. I only received a copy of this so-called agreement a full year later via email. Their earlier invoices also did not mention any long-term commitment or subscription terms. Despite my strong objections and explaining the situation, they refused to adjust or waive any of these unexpected charges. This feels very misleading and unprofessional. I would strongly advise anyone considering this company to get everything in writing upfront, review every detail carefully, and do not rely on verbal explanations. Transparency was completely lacking in our case. Very frustrating experience overall.

Soooo much better than the large companies - we tried two different large companies before this that were terrible, they would do a decent job on initial visit then on next scheduled visit would be on the property for less than 5 minutes and say they didn't have supplies they needed and would come back - then never did. Had to threaten a lawsuit to get out of contract because the other place did such a bad job and didn't take care of the issues we were paying them for. Verde on the other hand took care of all rodent and insect issues, and the regular maintenance visits are thorough, they are always prepared, and we've never had any insect or rodent issues since.

The visit was very thorough and he showed me every spot that needed to be addressed. The estimate was very detailed and accurately described all the steps he would take to eliminate the problem. Ray then showed up on time for four subsequent appointments to check traps, refill bait, and block entry points. He told me he likes to continue with once-a-month service but would not require me to sign a contract for that service. I thought his four-week service was very reasonable and actually expected about triple the cost! Overall, a very personable guy with a lot of good, detailed information and great service. It seems the rat problem has been eliminated but, if they return, I will only call Ray! It's a great feeling to know I've found my pest control company and never again need to check for others.

I had mentioned to Darla to skip service because of this, and will resume when ready. But just noticed that I have been continued to be auto charged ($87 each time) good thing I looked as I was getting ripped off. Very surprised of this as I'd mentioned this for multiple months to get ahead of this situation and give HomeShield as much communication as possible. It is crappy feeling to have my money taken like that I called in and spoke with Luca and he was helpful in telling me that I'll get credited back for 2 months, and will have CC on hold so not charged. That made me feel good. He said I'd get confirmation email in a few minutes but it's been nearly 2 hours and no email and my CC still showing no credit/refund. They are happy to auto charge me, but cannot accommodate their current customers with the ability to pause service, causing additional headache for me I'll see if there is anything worth updating if/when it happens. otherwise will go straight to credit card company and dispute charges...I don't have time to keep going back to HomeShield to check if they did their work right Still considering if I will continue with HomeShield once I need service again; but I figure I'll have better choice when that time comes UPDATE: after reading other review of not being able to cancel service, I called right back and spoke with Patricia. I asked to cancel service, but she could not do so and had to transfer me to other department and ask me to hold for "2 minutes". After 2 minutes, she came back on saying no one could talk to me to cancel. Seriously?? I asked if I can get her my verbal authorization to relay my cancel message to someone. No can do, so I have to wait for someone to call me back so I can say "CANCEL" really frustrated now...
