Unbelievable experience just now. Went to aqua dog but the location I knew them to be at was vacant. Did Google search and when I called the number for aqua dog I was connected with bark zone. Obviously putting 2 and 2 together, I'm figuring they were bought out or renamed or something. I told the woman who answered, "Sandra" that I'm at the old aqua dog location and want to know where she is located. She said she has no idea where she works because she's only been there a few months. I asked for cross streets or nearby businesses or something. Seriously, this girl said she had no idea where she worked or how to direct me. I asked her how she has gotten herself to work for the last 2 months and unless she apparated there or traveled using floo powder I didn't see how she couldn't at least have a clue how to direct customers to her place if employment. Can't speak high enough about bark zone! We started out just using them for grooming bc they always give our Goldendoodles the best haircuts! Now, we will be going back over and over for day care and boarding! When we had a last minute trip and needed boarding ASAP Bark Zone got them in the next day for their evaluation. I called several other places who didn't call me back, even called our dogs regular boarding center didn't return my call. Bark zone came to the RESCUE. The best part is they have doggy cams making your time away stress free bc you can check in on your furry kiddo anytime! It also put our mind at ease seeing the handlers petting our doggies when we would check in on the cams! You can tell they love what they do! Also, you can drop your dog off during any of their business hours making dog boarding convenient and easy! Our dogs last boarding center would only let you drop off AND pick up at specific times which was quite inconvenient. Lastly, Bark zone gives you the cutest report cards with a picture of your dog letting you know how they did during the stay! 5 stars! Thank you! read more

I took my poodle here just not to long ago & i couldn't really see what the lady's name was but I believe her name started with an "L", she was incredibly rude & disrespectful, & later when I got home I realize she charged me more than I should have been charged, but my dog was still wet in some spots & had shampoo on her belly area. Not to mention she wouldn't stop licking her paw I don't know what she did but I don't recommend going there. read more

We use to absolutely love coming here when they were Aqua Dog and prior to being bought by Barkzone. Prior to this we always brought our sheltie to see Misty, who was so good to him! However, once they were bought by Barkzone the newly hired staff were rude to us several times and treated us as though we were an inconvenience. We left voicemails requesting to schedule appts that were never returned. We love Misty, but are so disappointed by the rest of the staff and Barkzone that we have sadly begun the search for a new groomer. read more

Disclaimer : I am not being biased due to this being my dog. So I took my dog there for his evaluation. I watched his visit for all 3 hrs. He was playing, having fun and not being aggressive in anyway. My neutered dog occasionally tried to hump another dog while playing. The male keeper came and put a lead on him pretty aggressively and dragged him to a time out zone. My dog sat down in the kennel, did not bark or jump. But they still made him sit there for at least 10 minutes. HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT PUT ANY OF THE OTHER DOGS THAT WERE HUMPING MY DOG INTO TIMEOUT. Afterward, my dog seemed pretty weary of the male keeper and just would lay down or try to go up to the keepers for pets and reassurance. They REFUSED to pet him. The keeper literally would lift his hands up and not put my dog would would come nudge his hand. I did not see the keeper once show my dog affection and my dog loves to cuddle and get pets. Im so disappointed on the lack of care for the dogs. The keepers almost seemed as if they could careless about interacting with the dogs. They just stayed by the gate and talked while the dogs wanted to play or be petted. DISAPPOINTED. read more

this morning, I realized it was yet again time to take my dog in for a bath. since his hair is still growing back, a grooming wasn't necessary so I looked for self-serve dog washes in my area. this one looked nice and when I called to check on times the person on the phone was friendly. she let me know that they're open until 7:00pm but if no one is there at 6:30, lights are turned off. My boyfriend and I (plus smelly, dirty dog) arrived around 5:30 and were the only people in there. the place was super clean and inviting. the woman working there immediately greeted us and our dog while setting up a space for him at one of the many tubs. there were four shampoos available for us to use, including a "no more tears" variety for his face and one especially for dogs with black hair. she recommended that we wash him twice, which was not something they did at the last place we took him. it was actually so fun, none of us minded. by this time another dog arrived. the woman set up an area for us to dry him off and explained the dos and donts of the dryer. It was fast and easy plus there were also plenty of towels available as well. We had all of the tools at our disposal that we would ever need to wash him at home, plus we didn't have to clean up after him. upon checking out, we got a punch card for a free wash on our 10th or 12th visit (don't remember) which is always a nice perk. cost depends on the dog's size, which is fair. regardless, it's a great deal considering the time and effort it would take to do this all at home. my only issue is that the woman's chocolate lab was just roaming around the space. while it was a sweet and mellow dog, I can see how its presence might make some dogs, who are tied to tables getting washed or dried, uncomfortable. thankfully my dog was in one of his calm moods and didn't start growling. we will definitely be bringing our dog back here next month. read more

I have been taking my dogs to Aqua Dog for grooming for years. They always take excellent care of the dogs, and are talented groomers. I have tried a few other groomers, but now bring the dogs exclusively to Aqua Dogs. They are priced very competitively and my dogs don't get stressed or anxious as they have at other groomers. After calling around to quite a few places around town I finally settled on Aqua Dog for my two furry-legged babies. I have an 85lb Rough Collie and a 40lb Shetland Sheepdog of whom I am VERY protective of so needless to say I was a little wary and asked a lot of questions. The staff was so kind, they listened to all of my concerns and just loved all over my boys. I was immediately calmed by how much care the people at Aqua Dog gave to Cloud and Taffy! :) When I arrived a few hours later to pick up my babies I was thrilled by the job that they did! My boys looked wonderful and they did such a good job!! They also weren't kenneled when I arrived and I really appreciate how the staff strive to make sure the dogs feel comfortable and safe. The price was very reasonable and it was exactly what was quoted to me in the beginning. In the end I can not say enough good things about Aqua Dog. We will NOT be going anywhere else! This is one very satisfied doggie momma :) Update: The hubby and I used their self-service doggie wash to clean our boys and were very pleased. The towels are large enough for big dogs (which I appreciate because most places give you these tiny towels to dry your dogs so we end up using like seven towels) and they provide many different grooming tools to get the job done. They are also some of the cheapest self-service washes around, so that was also a plus. However, once we started bathing our big Collie-boy he started acting weird, shy and incredibly timid. While he doesn't like getting bathed at all, he has never shown such nervousness before. I am not sure if he had a bad experience the last time he was groomed here...but it made me worry just a bit. While I might not use their grooming service again, I will be using their self-service as it is an excellent price. read more

I always take my pup Dozi here because of the friendly staff and great service. Today's service was no exception, sometimes Dozi gets nervous and today he escaped in the ice covered parking lot on our way in the door. Hailie from Barkzone came out treats and Leash in hand to help as I slipped around the parking lot for 20 minutes before we were able to get Dozi rounded up and inside! If I could give this business zero stars I would. On 10/8/14, I took my dog to be groomed. This was the second time using their grooming service and I had been satisfied with the haircut on our first visit. I dropped my dog off at 10:00 a.m. and finally he was ready at 5:00! After picking my dog up I noticed that both of his eyes were completely bloodshot with one eye being completely engorged. I contacted the business right away and they asked me to submit photos, which I did by email that night. Over the course of the next couple of days, after speaking with the groomer and owner several times, it became apparent that my dog had been strangled/choked with the slip noose used during his bathing. It took a total of 6 days for my dogs eyes to return to normal. The owner refunded my $45.00 grooming fee, but that was really irrelevant at this point. My healthy 2 year old dog was injured and traumatized while under their "care". I have never written a review for a business before, but after this experience, felt compelled to let other pet owners know how Aquadog operates. When I went to pick up my refund, I had the opportunity to speak with the person who groomed my dog. She attested that while my dog was under her care that nothing had happened, but that she had confronted the bather once she noticed the injury to my dog. The bather denied any injuring occurring, but unfortunately they have informed me they do not have cameras in the store. The groomer was in tears apologizing for what had happened, but it's not enough. I would never return to this business. I attempted to file a complaint with the BBB but not surprisingly, they are not accredited. All I can do is hope that this review prevents harm to yet another animal. read more

With two big heavy coated dogs, this is the only place I'll go. The tubs are always sterilized and well stocked with a variety of product. The drying platforms are sturdy and safe. The have a good ramp for older dogs if needed for the tub and the staff is always extremely helpful! And they have the most AMAZING dryers, two of them will blow the under right off my big boy and cuts drying time in half! I drive almost 20 miles to get here buts it's worth ever mile! read more

Lady even agreed that it was 30 minutes before closing which by their rules is when they take last dog, but she said they didn't want to stay late so wouldn't let us in to wash our dog. Went there for the first time on a Sunday, they are supposed to open at 11 AM. At three minutes before 11, an employee walked up and could not get into the store because management was not there yet. She walked away. 15 minutes later the owner walked up, making excuses, not apologies, and did not have a key to get in, she called someone else that couldn't arrive for who knows how long? Would love to give them another try, but probably will not. read more

When I came across this location for doggy daycare, I couldn't be more thrilled that it was near my house, it had pretty good reviews and there was a live web camera so that I could keep an eye on my pup. I took my dog once or twice a week to help get her acquainted with other dogs and teach her to be friendly to the humans and other pups in there. Last Friday, however, I had an experience that needs to be shared. I was traveling and my boyfriend decided to drop her off while he was at work for the day to help tire her out for the weekend and just to let her have some fun. I turned on the live camera and noticed there was no adult watching the big dogs. That being said, I checked every 10-15 minutes and noticed there was no consistent adult in the room with them, and there were a lot of dogs that day. I wasn't too worried about this until my dog began getting humped. She was being continuously humped by the same few dogs for 20-30 seconds at a time and even one of the times I saw it, she had to physically fall over to get the dog off of her. Now, she is spayed so I am sure there is nothing to be worried about, but STILL! There was no adult breaking it up and no one in there supervising and it kept happening. My boyfriend was noticing the same thing as he watched. I finally had to turn off the live camera feed because I was getting so frustrated. About an hour later, my boyfriend noticed our dog hadn't been in either of the rooms. Curiously, he called and asked where our dog had gone. He spoke with a women named Tori on the phone and she stated "our dog was being a little hyper and so they decided to put her into a kennel for a little bit"..... ARE YOU SERIOUS. This is doggy daycare. If I wanted my dog to sit in a kennel, he would have left her at home all day for FREE. After he got off work he went directly to pick her up because he too was pissed. He told the workers that it was unacceptable for them to just put "hyper" dogs in a kennel because this is doggy daycare. If she wasn't being harmful to other dogs, then there is no need to keep her out playing with them. She is a golden retriever for goodness sake... she wouldn't hurt a fly. She is just so playful and loves being around other dogs. Anyways, the workers did apologize and said they were undersaffed that day, but to me that isn't an excuse because its important that my dog is taken care of at doggy daycare, especially if I am paying that much to have her go to Barkzone. Well that being said, we will not be returning. read more

If it were possible, I would give this business a NEGATIVE rating! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE UNTIL THIS GROOMER IS GONE!! My daughter took her Bernese Mountain Dog here yesterday, and called me in tears after she picked him up. I see that she has posted her own review under Tori P. This was what she had to say in a Facebook post: So I'm not usually one to vent on FB but I had to speak up on this one. Everyone knows I'm pretty overprotective and defensive when it comes to my dog, Sully. He's such a huge part of my life and I love him. It's hard for me to trust others with him and take him to places like the vet or groomers and leave him. Well this morning I picked him up from Aqua Dog on Cornell after a bath and I was so disappointed. I walked in to the groomer yelling at another dog to stop barking. Sully was left in a kennel that was too small for a big Bernese Mountain Dog and he was still damp. To top it all off I got home and discovered he had a huge rash and was bleeding on his stomach. It made me so mad and hurt. I say this only to warn you if you go to this place be careful who your groomer is. Apparently, the groomer's excuse to her was that he "had burrs," and "it was a busy day." Although he admittedly had just a few burrs elsewhere in his coat after a recent trip, I KNOW that this particular dog DOES NOT have enough fur on his belly and groin area to warrant it being shaved UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and I KNOW my daughter would never have let him have more than just a few elsewhere in his coat. This is a VERY pampered dog! I won't post the picture she sent me, as it's her property, but it graphically showed a NASTY clipper burn with bleeding. Her husband has taken this dog here on several occasions in the past with no incidents, so we believe the problem to be one particular groomer. I hope the owner takes this VERY SERIOUSLY, and fires this person immediately. If the business owner doesn't take this seriously and do just that, they should lose their license as well. People who ABUSE animals like this have NO PLACE in that industry. I was trying to find a similar story from a while back that I posted where there was a Bernese Mountain Dog that actually DIED of heat stroke in a similar situation. These dogs CANNOT tolerate heat, and should NEVER be subjected to the emotional abuse from this sort of incident either. If this had been any more serious than it already is, they would have had ME to deal with as well as my daughter. read more

We just had our first experience with this place and I am highly irritated and disappointed in the service. We purchased a fairly expensive bag of Canidae dog food because we are trying to regulate our dogs bowel movements a little better. The problem is that my dog just will not eat it. I contacted the store to check on their return policy as most stores allow you to return items like this. Petsmart even allows you to return the bag if it's at least 1/2 full and they give you full credit back. This store has no return policy, or anything else for that matter, printed on their receipt. Someone from the store said they are not sure what the policy is so they had to speak to a groomer. They were not sure either so they had to contact the manager then call me back. When I received the call from them, they said we can return it but the manager will not be back until Monday so we'd have to wait until then. If we did not want to wait ( which we can't because we're not made of money and our dog needs food ) they would have to give my number to the manager so she can call me. When I received the call from the manager, I instantly started regretting doing any business whatsoever with them. She kept sighing as if I was wasting her time and irritating her. She also kept explaining that her cell phone was about to die. She also stated that she's not really sure we can return the bag of dog food which my dog is refusing to eat. Seeing as she's the manager, I would think that is her decision to make and if she wants to keep business she would say we could. If first impressions kept places in business, this place would be shut down if it were up to me. What a horrible attitude to have with a customer. I called the store back and explained the call I had with the manager. Apparently this is a common occurrence with this manager so filing a complaint with BBB and other sources may be necessary. The store advised that they will exchange the bag for another product. At least the store is trying to do right. Sounds like a new manager is in order. read more

I searched high and low to find a new dog groomer after moving here out of state. I had a friend recommend BarkZone so I gave it a shot. My dog is still young and hesitant with new people but from the moment we walked in everyone was so friendly. Kayla got on the floor and let Grizz warm up to her while I filled out paperwork. Grizz was willing to go back with Kayla as I left (this is unusual for him because he is so nervous) which was a great sign to see she had gained his trust! Appt took about an hour and a half, exact timeframe Kayla gave me. Went back to pick him up and she did a phenomenal job!! She filled me in on everything she did and how he handled it. Will definitely be going back every few months to see Kayla!! read more
