I go back for a couple of times and avoid that groomer...Today they scheduled that groomer who confirmed the appointment yesterday and then when I went to the appointment he refused to groom the dog. I had communicated with an employee days prior to the boarding that our reservation was set and everything was ok. I show up at 7am to drop off my dog and am told that I can't drop him off. I would have sought services somewhere else, had I known days prior. This has left me unable to travel and out hundreds of dollars related to travel expenses. I dropped my dog off to get groomed. Upon picking him up he seemed extremely sedated, normally he's extremely excited to see me, this time his head just hung low. Once I got him home I noticed that white in his eye was completely gone. His pupil was surrounded in blood red. Concerned I took him to our vet to have things looked over. They told me that the blood vessels in his eyes had ruptured and that is what caused the coloration. Their only explanation for this is a dog being traumatized, usually resulting from being choked. Fortunately they told me his eye is fine and he should return to his normal self after he processes the stress from the trauma. Last summer a got an adorable labradoodle puppy. Doodles need to be groomed and clipped regularly. I tried a couple other self washing places, but decided to keep returning to the bark zone. Why? It's clean, large and staffed with caring individuals. The day I forgot my extension cord for my clippers they found one for me. Every grooming table has an outlet, but the distance between them varies. My clipper cord was not long enough. The bath tubs are kept clean and have catchers for all the hair. The selection of shampoos is good, but there is usually only one kind of conditioner. One day last month they were out, so I used my own. Since I regularly have to groom my dog, the hours are super important to me. They are open into the evening hours along with Sunday! Yea! I have never done and daycare for my dog, but was given a tour and the facility is clean and well taken care of. While doing my grooming (2 hrs usually) I have watched the staff work with boarders, self washers like myself, and grooming services. Their professional groomers have their own space and equipment. I've watched some beautiful grooming jobs done on many different breeds. The pricing is based on the size of your dog, which is very reasonable. I have to say my techniques have gotten better each time I groom my dog. But paying $16 to do it myself vs $100 to have my doodle done the way I want is more than worth the 2 hrs I spend each month. I stopped by today to use the u wash stations for my dog. Before going in, I wanted to walk him so he could potty first. We walked around the area and facility, and from the side and back of the building, all you can hear is the employees screaming at the top of their lungs at the poor dogs. I waited a bit, and it continued to happen. It was horrible. I went to the front to see if I could talk to a manager, but no one was at the front. I peaked into the wash tub area, and it was so disturbingly filthy. I grabbed my dog and left as fast as I could. I do not recommend this place unless you like your dog being yelled at and dirty. read more

I like the self service but with price always different. I'm feeling cheated. So I asked why it changes? I found they go by the weight of your dog, and charge that way... Not too big of a problem, right? Wrong it's not what you do it's how you do it. Costumer service lacking. They made me feel I was cheating them lol. I have an issue with no scale or price posting anywhere listed. I get charged differently every time I go depending on whom is cashiering. It's very annoying. Eye balling the weight of dog is very sketchy at best. I did ask them to consider a scale and posted price listing for self service. I did have my dog weight at 57lbs which I was charged this time $18.00. You just never know how much you have to pay here. It's time to another place to take my dog. We love Barkzone and the dogs do too, as much as one can tell. Some daycares leave your dog smelling worse than anything on earth and some aren't open past 4:00. But not Barkzone. Their hours fit a normal working person's 9-5 schedule and the dogs smell as good as when you drop them off. read more

First visit today with our recently adopted new doggie. DIY dog wash and nail trim by staff. Excellent experience! We were greeted and given thorough explanation of the shop, how to use the bathing stations and various product options. Staff was attentive and keeping an eye on us, offered suggestions for us "new parents" on best methods for washing/rinsing, which seems obvious but ISN'T for a new dog parent. Groomer was very patient with our pup during the nail trim, pup was losing patience with us! If there is ever a better use of $16 than to take a dog to a u-wash like this, I can't imagine what it could be! We all left happy and still friends, no foul language required (by woman, man or beast), and one beautiful clean doggie! Kudos to the nice young woman who helped us, I'm sorry I can't remember her name, but she was very helpful and patient with us rookies. **UPDATE** sadly since they moved to their new location I haven't been as happy as his first time here:( this is his third of fourth grooming appointment and I'm sad when I pick him up because he is SO THIRSTY. I have questioned if water is provided at all? Which they assure me there is but he drinks so much water when I pick him up that I'm not believing it. Also sad that he is now locked up all day instead of being allowed to roam... -------------------------- I just moved to the area and I get so nervous about taking my dog to new places when I'm not there. This team was amazing!!! They let me drop him off and kept him until I got off work. They gave him an amazing haircut and we're nothing but accommodating. Since getting my dog Luna, I've used Barkzone as a place to take her for doggy daycare and also for grooming and to give her a bath. Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable and Luna loves coming to hang out with the other dogs. I really like the self service wash stations that they have - it makes it so much easier to wash and dry her instead of doing it in the bathtub. Also being able to watch Luna on the live webcams to see how she is doing during the day really makes me feel at ease and know that she is being well taken care of. read more

Great Place to give your dog a bath! I waited until the last minute to get a dog grooming apt before Thanksgiving and my dog groomer was booked for weeks. Needed to bathe my dog but after spending 2 days cleaning my house, I didn't want it to smell like wet dog for most of the day. This place is great! There are 5 dog bathing stations to pick from, a long apron to wear to keep from getting wet, 5 different shampoos & a spray hose. Once I was done bathing my dog, I took her over to one of the hair drying stations. There are 2 hair driers, one small hand held and a bigger blow dryer. There are 2 different brushes, scissors and ear cleaning solution & swabs. My dog was cleaned, blow dried and trimmed up in under an hour and my house was spared from dog smell & dog hair. It was convenient, easy and worth the $14 I paid to use their facilities! read more

I hadn't been to this self-wash location in a couple years since my larger dog died. I decided to take the puppy (7 months) today since it was so cold out and my dog bath assembly at home is outside. I won't do THAT again! The process for getting in to the building is fine - I waited outside until I could check with the front desk person to be assured that there was a spot for me. It went downhill from there. She assured me that this wash station had been cleaned, but there was wet dog hair all over the walls of the tub. The entire self-wash area was COVERED with dog hair and mud on the floor. I put me dog in the tub before realizing that the shampoo and conditioner had not been refilled, nor were there any towels. I had brought my own shampoo, so that wasn't a crisis, and the gal from the front desk brough towels a little bit later. The station I was using smelled of a dog who had expressed their ana glands, and there was evidence of the same on a towel that had been placed under the non-slip mat on the one side of the tub. Unfortunately, to get to both sides of the dog, you have to walk around the tub on the wet, slick floor. This business used to be better than this. There used to be self-wash only attendants who spent their days making sure the area stayed clean, dry and fresh, who filled the shampoos up and replaced the towels. You used to be able to use as many towels as you need - now you get two. Fortunately there are other alternatives that I will take advantage of despite the fact that they are a longer drive. Tried out the self-service dog wash today, and it went well! The place was clean and tidy, had shampoos, conditioners, towels, ear cleaner, blow drying stations, etc. Just about everything you could need! Staff was pleasant and helpful when I popped in with questions before bringing my dog in. Gus the dachshund is now clean and smelling like sunshine. :) My only suggestion, is longer tying leads at the blow-dry stations for smaller dogs; the lead wasn't long enough to get around Gus's neck without being too tight. read more

We use both the self service and their grooming here. And we have been very pleased with them! When we drop our dogs (Lhasa apsos, Oreo and Sammy) off to get groomed they always remember that Oreo has very specific skin needs and ask about it right away. They treat Sammy the same way as Oreo, just in case he develops the skin condition. Our dogs always seem happy and well taken care of when we return for pick up. Just as pleased with the self-service! The staff stays around to assist but doesn't hover. They are very helpful and quick to respond to any questions or requests. Aqua dog is the best! I'm new to the area (from Texas) and didn't know where to take my dog for her over due grooming. For her first haircut a few months ago I took her to a certain high profile commercial pet store and The cut was just...bad. This time I saw Aqua Dog on yelp and though they sounded good and the store was relatively close. They were SO nice and they did a truly AWESOME job on my miniature schnauzer. I was literally grinning ear to ear with how they took care or her (hair and teeth looked amazing!). I would definitely recommend Aqua Dog to any other dog owner. read more

An Improvement in everyway Customer service is hard...Barkzone gets it right. I love to bring my dog in to have her nails trimmed then a quick bath. In and out in less than 45 mins. The staff on hand is very kind and compassionate. The place was a hustle and bustle today but I still was taken care off in a timely manner. Nice girl greeted us when we walked in, and showed the set-up and shampoo choices - even gave us a little info on each one. Plenty of big, fluffy towels for drying off (we used them all, lol), a big or little dryer, brushes, and nail trimmers, for after the bath. They charge by dog size in inches from mid-back. Our dog is medium sized (not sure inches but he's 50 lbs), and it was $16.50. Open till 6pm on Sundays - window says they prefer last bath 1/2 before closing. Great self serve dog wash! read more

I'm new to the area and needed a good place to take my boy Yoda. They were busy and I was leaving town in a few days and they were able to work me in, which was so nice. After filling out my forms, I showed them a photo of what I liked Yoda to look like. I went to pick him up and there was a very handsome little guy all decked out in a Halloween pumpkin scarf playing with the other dogs in the area. It sounds like I had a different experience than most of the other reviewers on here; I wasn't really impressed by the service. I walked in with my dog, and I told them I had never been to any self-serve dog wash before. Because I made it clear that I had no idea what I was doing, I was hoping for a little bit of introduction on how everything worked, but all they did was point me in the direction of the bath area. There was no description of pricing given, no explanation of what to do with our towels when we were done drying off the dog, etc. I really felt a little awkward in there because I wasn't sure if I was being rude by leaving my towels lying around, and I had no idea what the differences were between their different bottles of shampoo. 3 stars because the place is pretty clean and nice, but I really wish that the employees had provided a run-down of the place. read more

Formerly Aqua dog. While doing business as aqua dog the focus was on customers and the employees well being. I have been taking my pup to Misti at aqua dog for 6 years and never had one complaint. I always asked for her due to wanting to lesson the pups anxiety. Since she is no longer there I have received rude employees who do not care about the customers nor care about consistency in the dogs care. We love Carolyn at Aqua Dogs! Her prices are reasonable, she and her staff are always friendly, there is always room for us and the stations are clean and well stocked. My daughter is 4 and likes to "help". The staff at Aqua Dogs make it easy for her to feel like she is a big help. 10 minutes before closing I showed up to get my dog's nails done (bad on my part, but my schedule is wacky) They happily took her in. Peanut has had some scary nail trims, so she's abit skiddish. The groomer was so fast and gentle with the Dremel, it was completed in no time without a whimper! They have a customer for life now, I highly recommend Aqua Dog for wuss-pups like mine!! read more
