Be advised I would never suggest or recommend anyone to this horrible place. Had an appointment on a Saturday, showed up and they asked me to reschedule for a less busy day which was that Monday, I was fine with doing that. Came back two days later for my new appointment, the woman working seemed very scared of dogs. We took my puppy to the back where I tried to communicate with the woman (she didn't speak English, she didn't seem to know dogs bark, and she didn't have a clue what vaccinations were when asked who needs them). I then left to go run errands while my dog was being groomed. 20 minutes later I get a text, you need to come pick up your dog she's aggressive, mind you she is the most timid, docile loving dog I've ever met so I was shocked. Apparently she barked at the groomer and that was enough to terrify her. So I turn around and go back to get my dog, ring the buzzer to be let in, the woman opens the door which leads to a busy 6 lane, two way road and literally lets my dog out into the busy outside world as she says the only English she's spoken to me the entire time, she says "I can't handle it" and slams the door in my face locking me and my now loose dog out. By far the most unprofessional groomer I've ever met, been to, experienced or heard of. What kind of person works with dogs but isn't familiar with dogs, or their behaviors. What a total waste of a lot of time, and could have cost my dog her life. Take your pup somewhere they will care and love for your them, I could see this place kicking dogs that get out of line. read more

I know people don't believe dogs can talk..but if you ever met mine, he is as close as it gets. Everyone says my dog is like a little person and he will let you know when he likes something or not and he loves it here! As soon as we get close, he starts going crazy with excitement! He boards here and they treat him just like family. It is very clean and does not smell like "dog". The prices are very reasonable and they take them to play also. You could say I was nervous for Sam's first grooming appointment. I found Barker's Lane on yelp and checked out their website and called for an appointment: even before I got there I was impressed. The girl on the phone addressed all my concerns of getting the right cut and it being my pup'a first time. It took 2 weeks to get in (a full book is indicative of a good establishment in my opinion) and I dropped Sam off with a peanut butter bone in case he got nervous with the blow dryer. I agonizingly went shopping for about 2.5 hours. When I picked him up, he was super excited to see me and was so soft and clean. The assistant groomer informed me that for a 4 Month old puppy (and a Westie-a fiesty one to boot) he did an awesome job. Proud mama status. He had an adorable little bandana and all his nails were trimmed-and the cut was exactly what I pictured. He got a "partial groom" which includes a bath-all for $22. I tipped well since not only did they do an awesome job, my pup was evidently pretty hyper so it couldn't have been the easiest. I highly recommend this salon. Their pricing is unbelievable-I'm almost certain petco and petsmart are more. A "full groom" for a small breed is only $40. I was shocked. And again-awesome service and quality of work. I'll be coming back regularly when Sam needs a cut. The decor is adorable, (Those things just show attention to detail) he smells awesome and is super soft and they have products for sale and even pet boarding if you need those services. This was my puppy's second grooming ever and I was nervous. They cleaned him right up and I'm very pleased with how he looks. They were also quick too. This used to be the best grooming salon by far! We have been coming here for at least 10 years and they always took great care of our Miniature Schnauzers. However, since the place change owners, they have done an awful job with their cuts. We gave them 3 chances, but now we have to look for a new place unfortunately. We are not picky people, and understand that it's not easy to groom a dog, but their haircuts are visibly not finished, they didn't trim their tails, and their eyebrows are different lengths and shapes. Not to mention they essentially shaved down the beard of 2 schnauzer, which is essentially the key feature for them. They even raised thr prices to end up providing worse services, go figure. My 49 pound German Shepard Mix was getting a little stinky and his fur was getting a little nasty. Right before Memorial Day Weekend, I called to make an appointment. Unfortunately, they were all booked for the weekend. I guess there were a lot of dogs in Broward County that needed a spa day. We decided to take my dog that following Wednesday. Their drop off time is between 8:30-1 PM and told us we needed to pick him up by 6 PM. Fair enough. We decided on the partial groom package that cost us $45. This included a bath, blow dry & brush out, blueberry facial applied with facial massage, ear cleaning & plucking, nail clipping, anal gland expression, hair trim around the eye area and hair grooming around the paws. The best part was that they put a cute little bandana on my dog for a finishing touch. Barker's Lane was very clean, the staff were very nice and caring. My dog is the most calm and sweet dog ever, rarely barks or attacks anything or anyone. In fact, he's too chill and makes me sad that he's not more playful. He doesn't even lick. But the staff said they had to muzzle my dog because he "showed teeth" - I wonder what happened for my dog to feel threatened. I guess it's better safe than sorry. I wouldn't want my dog to get upset and bite someone. That would be bad. All in all, I was very pleased with how clean and spiffy my dog looked when I picked him up. We'll be back when my furry friend begins to look a little unruly. read more

I really couldn't be happier with my clean, fluffy pooch. I took my 40-pound Goldendoodle puppy to get a partial groom and he is so clean and fluffy. He smells amazing. Someone did a flawless job scissoring his face and feet. We do not get his full body trimmed but they managed to open up his face and neaten his feet without making him look silly. Also they did a great sanitary trim. Not too much, not too little. :) One of his rear nails was bleeding when we got home which caused a mess since he is white, but I know he is wiggly and crazy and a little Quick Stop fixed that. The place is super busy! I think it would have been nice to at least find out the name of the person who took in my doggie, but frankly with 4 people dropping off in the 5 minutes I was there, I really can't fault them for rushing. Since I have a friend who works there, I felt very comfortable leaving my dog there and they really did a fabulous job. read more

The space was very clean and the woman seemed nice, although the grooming itself was awful. When my dog was finally ready and i went to pick her up, it was right when the store closed. My dog looked good at quick glance but when I got home I noticed she was completely butchered. Her hair was not cut evenly, she had two shaved patches on her chest, her eye lashes were cut uneven lengths (not even sure if she intentionally trimmed them). Overall it seems like maybe she was rushing when grooming my dog. If I didn't live 30 min away I would have brought her back to get all of this fixed, but it's safe to say I will not be returning. read more

I just recently moved to Florida and I was really nervous taking my dog here because the last groomer I had found did a really bad job. I am so happy I found this place. I was beyond pleased with the job they did at Barker's Lane that I am so ecstatic to have finally found a place for my Mellie. The place is so nice and super clean. Their service is amazing. When ever I had a question and I would call or email them. They would respond right away. I brought pictures with me on how I wanted her to look. They cut her fur exactly like the pictures. She has never looked so great. Not to mention how affordable they are. I also took her there to get her teeth clean. Barker's Lane has a team that comes in and and does non-anesthetic dental cleaning. Mellie's teeth have never looked so clean. At the end of her appointment they give you a full dental report and advice on how to keep their teeth clean. I have had such a great experience there. That I am also choosing them as the place to board my dog during Labor Day weekend. Yes! They also have a pet hotel. Just another great thing about them and the hotel is so nice. 1 Star is generous for this place. I've brought my puppy here 3 times and I regret giving them my money. The first time was decent except for the RAZOR CUTS on his belly. I gave them the benefit of the doubt in that he's a puppy and moved around a lot. The second time, they didn't open until almost 9 as me and other dog parents waited outside despite their EIGHT AM opening time. I showed up early to pick up my pup and saw through the window that the groomer was grabbing my puppy's face so hard that I had to knock on the window to get her to stop. The cut this day was T E R R I B L E. The third and final time, whom I believe to be the owner, stated I needed an appointment which I've never made before and her employees told me I didn't need. As she saw I was leaving she said she'll take him but he's staying there all day. Seriously? For someone who should be watching your pups, I HIGHLY SUGGEST GOING TO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Good job on the grooming, but they cut my dog and didn't tell me until AFTER I paid. They said it was a little cut that didn't bleed but its an inch or so gash that still hasn't healed after a week. I found about this Pet salon in a deal I bought from LivingSocial. I was skeptic to try a new place for my dog, but the price was right so I decided to give it a whirl. I had a good feeling about the place the moment I walked inside. The decor and ambiance of the entire place was soothing. The entire ride over to Barker's Lane, my dog was shaking and very nervous, but as we stepped inside she calmed down and I honestly feel it was because of the atmosphere of this place. The prices are reasonable even without the LivingSocial coupon and vary by size of the dog or cat. My dog came out smelling wonderful and had the best haircut than has ever had from the last place we used to take her. Soothing music is played for the dogs, this place is clean and very well kept with little to no smell of animal whatsoever. This place was horrible. The first time I went to get a full groom for my dog she was there for almost 5 hours and they STILL hadn't started even working on her. I brought her in today. The grooming isn't the best I've seen there are some parts that just aren't cut correctly. I got a full groom and A full groom includes ear cleaning. They didn't do it. I had to come home and do it myself. My dog is a medium sized dog and online it says 40-45 dollars, they charged me 55 dollars. horrible customer service I just wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Waste of money. I boarded my dog here several times as well as had her groomed. All great experiences until recently boarding during Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, my dog became INFESTED with ticks while boarded here. Of note, my dog is treated as well as has a tick collar and was just covered in 20+ ticks when I returned her home.
