There's so many lovely things I can say about Alex and his awesome team. I've been going to Alex for years, since he was in Weston and ever since he opened up his shop in Sunrise, I couldn't be happier. I have an apricot toy poodle named Kaylie, who's turning 15 this week. She's been seeing Alex since she was about 3 years old. It's insane how much time flies! Due to her age, Kaylie has cataracts and has a hard time moving around if she's unaware of her surroundings. Alex and his wife and team treat Kaylie with so much love and care. I never have any worries when I drop her off for her appointments. They do a wonderful job and always ask me if there are any worries or focus areas they need to concentrate on. Communication is always top notch here and they literally feel like family. Scheduling with them has gotten a bit more difficult lately but it's not a problem for me as I like to schedule 1-2 weeks in advance anyway. His reputation and work speaks volumes so I reckon his schedule is always busy. My sister also brings her toy poodle, Missy to see Alex. She's a feisty one and they still manage to have her all dolled up and beautiful every time! Regardless of the condition of the dog when he comes, it is your job and responsibility to maintain the dog as healthy as the owner left him. My dog was perfectly healthy and had no skin conditions. You did not have to shave him to the point of almost bleeding. If you knew what you were doing there would be no need to sign a release form. We're talking about cutting hair not a physical surgery. UPDATE!! Would give them zero if I could. So disappointed in the unprofessionalism. Took my dog for a groom which included expressing her anal glands. She kept scooting once we got home and I kept trying to call to ask if they could make sure the expressed them. Didn't get a hold of anyone and they were closed the next day. The scooting and licking got worse so I took her to the vet. Her anal glands were so full! I called the owner the next day who seemed to be professional. He apologized and said he'll deduct the price of the vet from her next visit. Called back to make an appointment and they told me they won't groom my dog anymore because of the "anal gland incident". WOW, I'm in shock how terrible people can be. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! read more

The only groomers I trust to trim my dog's nails. Such friendly staff my dog loves it there and I am very comfortable leaving my dog there. My dog is a little shy and nervous at the groomers and they really take their time with her and treat her gently. I saw my beautiful neighbor dog haircut during a walk, knew I had to asked for the groomer information. The next few days i dropped off my baby for a haircut. I was very nervous but we needed a new groomer so badly. We haven't have a good groomer for years so praying this would be the groomer we can stick to. Coming in to this very cute, clean salon, we were greeted nicely by the owner. Filled out some paper and he asked what do I prefer the haircut to be and some pointers of what my dog is like. Everything was great and I dropped of then comes back in a couple hours. When I came back, my dog ran out looking adorable in his bow tie greeted me, wagging his tail greeting his groomers and the owner. I say to myself "this is a rare sight". He was happy, he wasn't nervous, he was looking cute, he smell amazing, he seem to like it here and that make my heart so happy. I haven't find a groomer to groom him the way I I like that fit him best so I'm so impressed with job well done. I checked him carefully for cut and Knick and nothing. The people at Splendor Paws seem nice. Have taken my dog here a few times. But the one thing i have noticed each time, is that the instructions i give the girl at the front desk on how i want my dog cut do not seem to make it back to the groomer. I had a few request like the length of the ear hair, the private area being trimmed shorter, and i wanted my dogs hair short on the sides of his face. Non of these request were done. I may try them again, but there needs to be better communication from the front attendant to the groomer. The girl upfront, rushes you in saying ok, ok..i will tell him, but the message does not get to the groomer. read more

I've been taking my dog here for the last year. The last few visits I've noticed his hair cuts getting less "adorable" and more choppy if that makes sense but I kept my loyalty as the staff are kind and he's well loved there. His last visit was about 3 weeks ago. I don't do confrontation well which is why I'm leaving this review. Not only was his hair cut super choppy, as in visible lines and edges, ear chopped, etc. but we noticed under his armpit was cut up pretty bad, along his arm as well. Good size cuts. They scabbed over within a few days, but in the last week, it has now become severely infected and painful. On top of that, double eye infection. My dog has never once needed a vet visit outside normal vaccines and shots. He's never been sick or broken anything or needed medications outside annual heart worm and ring worm medications for safety. I'm not happy about the vet bills. I'm not happy that he was cut up so bad by the groomer. I will not be returning there. $80 just got the bath, haircut and nails, to be left with a sick little dude and a very large vet bill read more

Very happy with my first experience. Both dogs were ready when they said they would be, and I was sent a picture of them hanging out waiting for me. I have a senior dog and puppy, both 70+ pounds, which means I'm normally charged a ton just because they are big. Prices are very reasonable here. Called to make an appointment and they set me up for an appointment. Then i received a call back that the appointment didn't save in the computer. they said they got it set. then i received another call shortly after that saying they are closed that day. they rescheduled my appointment. I gave my puppy medication and drove to the location. When i got there the person asked me if i had an appointment. I said yes. she said oh well we are closed today. No one called and told me they are closed. They had no problem contacting me multiple times before that. why not tell me something as important as the fact my appointment was cancelled. Wasted time. Money and my puppy got medicated for no reason. The lack of professionalism astounds me. Why would i trust my dog to people i can't even trust to keep me informed? read more

I really want to express how unbelievable this place is. My wife and I have five medium size dogs. So we have definitely used our fair share of groomers and I have to say this one is most definitely the BEST. Its obvious how much they love animals. Normally when you bring your dog in to a place the person doesn't really pay that much attention to the dog they just check you in and you leave ,but not here, when you walk in it doesn't matter they stop what they are doing and come over and talk to you and play with the dog. He actually remembered all five dogs names. The door to go in the back of the shop is glass so you can totally see everything they are doing. And the prices are very affordable. And the best part is they do such a good job on the dogs. With little bandannas for the puppies. We love this place !! read more

Could not ask for better. Very nice people who took care of my Monkey (Ok, she is not ACTUALLY a Monkey, she is a little mixture of puppy perfection, but she doesn't know that). Took my perfect pooch in to get a manicure/pedicure (AKA clipping her nails), she could not have been happier. No biting, no snapping, no running away... just a pleasant experience for everyone.
