I LOVE THIS PLACE. My grooming place shut down a few months ago (and I cringe when I think that I took my dog there), and I was at a loss of where to take her. This place popped up on yelp with a high rating, and now I know why. The groomers here clearly love animals! They speak to them softly and make sure they're comfortable. The second best part of Kellie's (next to the groomers), is that you can literally sit and watch your baby get groomed! I got to watch my dog get bathed, and then shaved! All of the worry I had experienced in the past had completely vanished as my dog was right in front of me. They also listened to each of my wishes as far as how I wanted her groomed, which my old place never did. My doggo smells lovely now and will shed much less, and I just can't stop hugging her! I've been looking for a good groomer in south Florida for about 6 months now.. And it seems I'm not alone... I constantly hear horror stories from other people about dog groomers, but it's rare that you hear nothing but praise. Not the case with Kellie... I am SO THANKFUL I found her!! She was attentive and asked about my dog (does she have any allergies? Was there anything she needed to be aware of?) Shadow. She was patient with my timid 65 pound mutt cowering in the bathtub, and soothed her if she started getting spooked. As a shelter pup owner, I'm VERY particular about my dog Shadow. Shes shy and is still getting socialized, and Kellie went above and beyond to make Shadow feel as comfortable as possible. By the end of the groom they were buddies--I think Shadow even gave Kellie a puppy kiss or two! Kellie also listened to me when I told her how I wanted Shadow's fur cut. She looks and feels ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I LOVE her cropped body shape and fuzzy ears! Kellie was incredibly fairly priced and straightforward when it came to money. She's not going to just take your money if your pup doesn't need a certain service, which I appreciate SO MUCH. Another thing I love is that Kellies "salon" is completely open, so you can see exactly what's going on. In the past it's always made me nervous when a groomer tells me I can't be there during the groom, and in the past Shadow has come running out from the back of a groomers place soaked from the tub, so Kellies windows were the perfect solution. The waiting room is at a doctor's office with glass windows so I am able to watch my dog as shes getting groomed. Kellie is very sweet and gentle with the dogs, not to mention she does such a fantastic job with the cut. My dog is very anxious by nature but Kellie and her staff do a fantastic job keeping her as calm as possible. I have been going to this groomer for over eight years and have followed her from one salon to another. We've had a few bad experiences the past year. She's been rude to us and has left us uneasy leaving our fur baby there but still after eight years we had trust in her (CANNOT say the same for the staff), every time we pick her up there's another excuse as to why she isn't fully groomed. Why her face is still a mess or why she's anxious and trying to get out as fast as she can. Below is a text I sent to Kellie the owner today after stopping by another groomer we've been in contact with and she questioned whether she was even bathed. She then offered for FREE to fix her face because she felt so bad. Our baby is older and is anxious but was completely calm and felt safe in the other groomers arms. Please read the message I sent to other groomer (who as of now 11/12/19 in the afternoon after picking her up.) "we just brought Abby back from another groomer who we have been in contact with. It seems every time we pick her up from your place there is always an excuse about the hair in her mouth, her eyes and her beard and you always say I did the best I could. The other groomer asked if she was even bathed because she was so sticky and matted around the face and didn't even smell refreshed. She then said do you mind if I give her a try free of charge, due to her feeling bad Abby was going to walk around like that after "just being groomed" because of how matted Abbys facial hair was and sticky. Abby was completely calm while we watched the other groomer cut the hair from inside her mouth. Opened her mouth wide to see if there was a bone or tooth that could be making her more sensitive and she said her teeth looked like they hadn't had a good cleaning in a while, which isn't ever suggested to us when we bring her to you, you jump to the conclusion something was wrong with her mouth. She also shaved her beard very close while Abby held very still, and even re did the inner parts of her ears, and around her eyes (all while Abby was calm and listened to the groomer telling her to relax and she was in good hands, tail wagging and all. Zero growling, zero snipping, and no barking) The other groomer suggested there might have been some sort of trauma- either loss of patience, pulling or yelling at some point causing her to not forget what happens when she comes in there to get groomed in your place. We paid you $49.00 got the same excuse from you as per usual and I am thoroughly disappointed in you and your staff. I am debating whether or not to write you up on yelp because this is now unacceptable after seeing what this other groomer who met Abby for the first time today was able to accomplish. she's been with you for 8 years and for another groomer to question if she was even bathed is upsetting and unacceptable. We trusted our girl with you and the staff you hired. We have come to you for eight years now paid $49.00 for a less than average job for at least the last year or so. The other groomer actually picked up two handfuls of air from the mess left on her face when she was done cleaning up all that you missed or deemed "impossible" to get to. She was so kind she would not take any money from us. Just wanted to help Abby out and see how Abby behaved for her. I'm blown away at your new rate change without a mention on a text. I totally feel ripped off. When I made the appt would of been an appropriate time to mention the rate change. If you have any decency for how you handed Abby back to us I would appreciate some kind of refund. But not expecting much based on the customer service we've received from you in the past 4-6 months." Commented on one 8 years and on this 5? Why didn't we complain? We've asked you to go shorter but we're told you did the absolute best you could do. So what's to ask for if we're told you've done everything you can? Just want the refund and to be done. Grooming by Kellie is wonderful! Kellie and her ladies provide wonderful service. My mini doxie is scared of most things but he always leaves happy while giving Kellie lots of kisses and tail wags. Kellie is the best groomer I've found. I prefer driving 25-30 minutes to her than to any other groomer that is closer to where I live. I highly recommend Grooming by Kellie! My pups hate baths but they love Kellie. They aren't always excited to see her but they leave happy and it's not too difficult to get them in. They HATE Petsmart grooming and I literally have to drag them in, hence the reason I will never take a pet there again. I started taking them to Kellie when she was over at Green Paws and will go out of my way to take them to her because they like her and she is great with them. Both of my small short hair dogs are normally in and out in about an hour which is better than most places that make the dogs sit in cages for hours. I took my 8 month old baby Yorkie Jingle here to be groomed. His first grooming was at a luxury pet boutique that charged $50 and the only difference I saw was that his bangs were cut. I came across Kellie's on Yelp and I'm glad I did. I dropped my Jingle off (we had an appointment) and in a hour and a half he was ready! When I got him back my expectations were exceeded. He was so soft, clean and adorable! Plus when I dropped him off he immediately bonded with the young lady at the front which made me feel comfortable. I am so happy I found this place. I have been trying to find a groomer for 3 years now and today was my lucky day. My dog was hurt and traumatized by the past groomers. Since than I have been trimming him myself but he is a Maltipoo and needs better grooming so today I just wanted to start with a bath, face trim and nail trim just to slowly get him to trust a groomer again. He was scared at first because of the past but the thing I liked the most is I was able to see him the whole time so he knew I was right there. It was a very relaxing experience for both him and I. The atmosphere is very nice and the other dogs that were there looked relaxed and comfortable. Kellie and her staff were so nice and sweet.
