I've been bringing my 3 cats here for years. I won't take them to any other groomer. A lot of groomers don't even really take cats, at least I've had a hard time finding one until canine capers. They are super sweet and professional here. My cats always look wonderful and smell amazing when I pick them up. I have 2 Persians and an orange tabby. My 3 babies come home looking perfect every time. I try to drop them off as early as I can because it can get pretty busy. There's nothing I hate more than leaving a bad review but sometimes you just have to. I have been taking my dog here for months and I've noticed recently they started to call me upon pickup and saying "no internet cash only" and today was the third time they did that and I knew something was up. Most likely to avoid taxes and keep it off the books. When he called I asked if he had change and his response was "no, not my problem, get the cash now" and then hung up on me. Upon my arrival I asked him, why don't you take credit card anymore and he said "because I don't, sorry if you don't like it go somewhere else" and I said, that's not a nice way to speak to a client and he said "I don't care you got a problem with me" I thought he was going to try and fight me. I am never ever ever ever taking my dog here ever again and I just wanted to make others be aware of this place. Avoid this place as painful as that is for me to say. read more

I took my dog here at 9:30 AM and pick them up around 6:45 PM. This was my first time taking my golden doodle here and I was not informed that this would be an all day appointment because that is not the type of service I am used too. When I called around 11 AM to check on my dog I was just told that he is going to take a while and they are not finished yet. I didn't called at 5 PM almost 6 because they stay on their door that they close at 6 PM and they told me that he still wasn't ready and they would call me when he is. At this point I was concerned so I went down there to see what was wrong with my dog for myself because no one informed me or told me it would be this long. I would not have taken him because i dont want him in a kennel for that long its just not right! I came in and ask if they had worked on him and if they didn't, I would take him home instead of telling me if they worked on him they just asked me what was his leash color and proceeded to grab the dog off of the grooming table, and bring him to the front. I heard the man fussing with the groomer. when he brought my dog out, they were just finished blow drying him. Mind you this was around 5:30 PM. That means he was sitting there the whole day when they could've just gave me an appointment time and I would've showed up. I then told them to finish the work that they were doing. But I'm concerned because your establishment says you close at 6 PM and here it is almost 6 PM and you're not done that's when you informed me that he only leaves when all the dogs are done I told him this could've been avoided if he properly communicated this when I was taking my dog, I would not have allowed him to stay. then he proceeded to tell me cash only. This should've been stated when I called to make an appointment for my dog over the phone. it was such a bad experience with my dog got home. He ran to his water bowl because he was so thirsty. He didn't even get a chance to eat anything the morning of. The door clearly states that this establishment takes credit cards an Apple Pay that is the only reason why I went there. I didn't even get a receipt for paying in cash. I believe he did this, so he doesn't have to pay taxes or so there is no way I can counteract if i did not like his services. The cut on my dog was good when i first looked and it picked him up but i was so upset i just grabbed my dog and left. PLEASE STATE THAT YOU ARE A CASH ONLY BUSINESS WHEN PPL COME IN. WRITE IT ON YOUR DOOR! my dog was cut, uneven and too much hair was left around his nose area. I will never return to the place. I only came here, because where I usually go was booked in my dog really need to be groomed. Customer service is terrible once you try to check on your dog. read more

I really quite don't understand the bad reviews. I have two Schnauzers that are very high energy and for the past 3 years I had bad experience every where I went because they will chop their hair and buzz them short in some places blaming it on their hyper being until I found this place!! The first time I picked them up I could not believe they were my dogs and they told me they are such good dogs and behaved so well. I was in shock because the last place I took them for about a year they always complained that they are all over the place and that's why they can never give them a proper cut. The owner here specializes in Schnauzers and they have amazing costumer service. You can see they LOVE what they do and they are very good at it! I would DEFINITELY recommend this place! read more

I have been taking my animals here for about 15 years now!!! I have 4 Yorkies, which require quite a bit of upkeep. One has a terrible skin condition. The vet worked for about a year to clear her skin, but Canine Capers did a much better job at clearing her up. All my dogs love going here, they get so excited as soon as we get out of the car, and they are not usually like this at other places we go out to. I'm a first time dog owner and I was very scared taking my pup to any place therefore I started looking up places and came by this one. Not going to lie when I left him with the guy i was telling him what I wanted and he was kind of directing me to what he wanted my dog to look like that made me kind of scared but at that point I was already there and decided to leave him, and i don't regret it one bit he honestly knew what he was talking about he left my pup looking so adorable I couldn't believe such cuteness could be possible. My sincerest review: I have been their customer for 5+ years and used Trini/Canine Capers for both my dogs, one a senior that passed away and my then puppy. The place was a very convenient location for us and I felt comfortable leaving both of them there even though they were always very busy and my dog(s) would sometimes have to stay the whole day even if the drop-off was early in the morning. As well, my dog would always come in with razor burns but never complained because I know its a tough job and they must work quickly. Just this past weekend I picked up my dog from here. We would always pay $40, as time went on then $50 and NOW $60 and he was so demeaning about it I was just very taken back. Also, please keep in mind my dog is no more than 10 lbs. I understand you want to raise your fees but I know that the prices are depending on who it is because after all, it is a small community and most of his other customers are my relatives/friends. We were always told only cash is accepted so we would always leave more than extra. After all those years and my word of mouth recommendations to family members/friends bringing not only one dog but two dogs in each household were definitely not appreciated. I can count about 4 families I have recommended to them throughout. I can only assume he cannot handle the load and this the easiest way to get rid of some of the customers. I am sure I will find better a better option. After such treatment rest assured I am very sad/glad to say goodbye. I would pay $60 for my tiny 10 lb dog, but under better circumstances and far more perks than a full day of waiting in a cage until they get to him. read more

Unbelievable! I got there with my beautiful dog for a full grooming. I took my time and showed them pictures of what I did NOT want and pictures of what I DID want. My dog had beautiful hair. Not one single knot. I brush her hair everyday and I am one of those doggy dads that take their time with their pet and take care of them. All I wanted was a little trim in her face and her little butt. When I picked her up, they had basically shaved her all the way and she looked like a rat. This was so terrible. I did not say anything because it was already done. They can't glue her hair back. But I think it is important for everyone to know before taking your dog here. They WILL DO WHATEVER THEY WANT! So I decided to ring this salon after hearing rave reviews about it through word-of-mouth. When I called they answered immediately. I was able to book an appointment right away, same day. After arriving to the salon the interior was very posh. It's a lovely little plaza which is centrally located right off the highway. My consultation with the groomer was very thorough and he took time to explain what would be the most fancy on my pup. The Teddy bear cut I guess the new look for my dog. He did explain that he had a few clients that were before me so it would take a few extra hours. The interior was very clean as I did inspect just to make sure I was leaving him in the right hands. After four hours they finally called me which to me was rather long. When I picked him up his haircut was absolutely adorable. One star is being generous! I brought my dog here at 9am and by 3pm we called and the rude employee said she was not ready. At 6pm I decided to just show up and explained to the man that she has not eaten all day or peed and he stated, "we have to bathe her before we shave her".. AKA THEY HAD DONE NOTHING! I received my dog the same way I brought her. The place cares more about making money than treating your dog well. I took my dog there several times and each subsequent time the service got worse. The first time, I was pleased with the results. The second time, the results were ok, but it took almost all day even though I had an appt for 8am. My dog isn't even a large dog or a very hairy one. This became a pattern. Every time I would ask for a general idea of how long, they would say 2-3 hours, then it would wind up being 4-7 hours. I asked why they couldn't call and update me and let me know it would take longer and the man who I spoke with actually snapped at me and told me that if I had something else to do that maybe I shouldn't have brought my dog in. Well that's nice because I HAD A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT and if you tell me 2-3 hours, then I am going to expect it to be done in 2-3 hours UNLESS YOU TELL ME OTHERWISE. I am not sure if it is a cultural communication issue or not, but I perceived him to be very rude and my poor dog actually had several nicks on her when I picked her up. I can't really recommend him, but apparently other people think he is great, so to each his own. I just hope he checks his attitude before someone really gets pissed off at him. read more

FLEAS!!!!! DONT GO HERE!! Upon passing during a morning stroll, we decided that the price was great to have our cat groomed and bathed at Canine Capers. We had such a good feeling about this place after talking to their bather. WE WERE SOOOO WRONG. We dropped off our cat at 9am and didnt receive a call that he was done until 4pm. We went to pick him and saw that he had FLEAS. He is an indoor cat and our dog pees on pee pads. WE DONT LET OUR ANIMALS OUTSIDE. Only after calling them on it did he say "he came in with fleas" and "the fleas on him are dead". BS. I pulled multiple ALIVE fleas off him right in front of the owner. I made an appointment for 3pm today just for a shampoo and blow dry for my two dogs, both under 15 lbs. They were dropped off at 3pm. Two hours pass by without hearing anything so I decided to call and was told they would be ready in another hour. It's now 6:30 so I decide to just drive there to see if they're ready. I get there to find out that the owner hasn't even started on them yet! 3 1/2 hours later and my dogs are just sitting in a tiny cage together. Love this place! I bring my cat here and he can be a little scared sometimes but he always comes back relaxed, even with being around a bunch of dogs. He also smells amazing! It's also walking distance from my place so the convenience is great! Usually pretty busy so give them an hour or two depending on the extent of the work, but they let you know when they are done so you don't have to wait there. I see a bunch of animals there and they are always very calm with the groomers. Great customer service and tender care to their animals. read more

The ego on this guy is so undeserved. Truthfully, the quality of the haircut is inconsistent, meaning not always good. The Owner/Groomer needs a customer service skills class or three. The lack of respect for the time it takes to groom a dog and the accurate time frame given to pet parents, is just bad business. Don't support bad business practices.
