She's our baby, and the thought of being away from her for so long had my husband and me both anxious. Thankfully, we found Canine Corner, and from the moment we walked in, we knew she was in loving, capable hands. The team at Canine Corner went above and beyond to make us feel at ease. They were kind, patient, and completely understanding of how hard it is to leave your pup behind. Every update we got while we were away reassured us that Sadie was having an amazing time -- and judging by how she pulls us toward their door every time we walk by, I think it's safe to say she had a blast! I especially want to thank Lucas, who truly went the extra mile for us. We were stuck in terrible traffic on our way back into the city and were panicked we wouldn't make it in time to pick up Sadie before closing. Lucas kindly stayed a bit past closing this past Sunday just so we could reunite with her -- and I can't express how much that meant to us. That kind of care and thoughtfulness is rare. We're absolutely thrilled with our experience and will continue to recommend Canine Corner to everyone we know in the neighborhood and beyond. It's heartbreaking to see how Black employees are being treated. People are hired with the understanding that they'll be cross-trained for dog walking and daycare, with the opportunity to work in the daycare when walks aren't available, only to find out that those opportunities aren't actually being offered. Instead, they're given maybe three dogs a day, barely two hours of work, and sometimes even those hours are taken away at the last minute. What makes this even more disturbing is the apparent difference in treatment, with Black employees experiencing these issues while other coworkers receive more hours and flexibility. If there isn't enough work to provide employees with consistent schedules, why continue hiring more people? At the very least, employees should have a fair opportunity to work 20 hours a week. This is New York City. People have rent to pay, families to feed, and responsibilities that don't disappear just because a company decides they're no longer needed that day. You cannot expect people to commit to your business while treating their time, livelihood, and financial stability as if they don't matter. A business should be judged not only by how it treats its customers and their pets, but also by how it treats the people who keep it running.

I was greeted by a nice tall young man who told me nobody was allowed in. He just showed me the place through a glass window, but we couldn't see much of the place at all. This made me uncomfortable, as I wanted to see where my precious dog will be playing. However, I was still willing to give it a try. He told me to come on Friday, and said 4:00 would be fine for a Temperament Test. He said to bring proof from the vet of all the vaccinations. My dog studied hard for the next few days LOL and we arrived at 4 with all the veterinarian papers. I was greeted by the VERY NASTY OWNER NAMED ANDRÉ!!! The way he greeted me was the biggest red flag, as this made me wonder if everyone acts like him in this place and why would I want to leave my precious Hope with a person like this. He also told me the vet papers were not good enough, told me my appointment was for 2:00 (but it wasn't), and looked at my pup with such suspicion as if she was going to do something wrong! We left in disgust, I gave Hope the biggest hug ever, and promised her she would NEVER HAVE TO GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!

I returned to find him in a horrific state: multiple bite wounds and punctures on his ears and muzzle, and a severe, painful UTI that was left completely untreated. The most disturbing part is the medical evidence. I took him to the vet immediately, and the clinical report confirmed that the lacerations were in an active healing stage and already over 48 hours old at the time of pickup. This means the owner, Andrey Tevlin, and his staff watched my dog suffer with visible head injuries and a painful infection for days and NEVER NOTIFIED ME, despite their contract stating they would contact owners for medical situations. My dog is now straining to urinate and requires over $2,800 in emergency medical care and X-rays because they failed to provide basic supervision or the "Duty of Care" they were paid for. Andrey has gone silent and refused to take responsibility for the neglect that happened under his watch. I have already filed formal reports with the NYC Department of Health, the ASPCA, and am pursuing legal action in Small Claims Court. Save yourself the heartbreak and your pet the pain--go anywhere else. This facility is unsafe, and the management is completely unresponsive to animal emergencies

I had an item stolen from my home after someone sent by this business was given access to my house to walk my dog. When I confronted the owner, she immediately insisted there was no possible way anyone associated with her business could have taken it. The police investigated. I later learned that the person the business had sent into my home that day had previously worked for another dog-walking business and was connected to a case involving more than $20,000 worth of stolen jewelry and watches. What made an already upsetting situation so much worse was how the owner handled it. She was incredibly difficult to deal with, unapologetic, and refused to refund even the dog walks I had already paid for, let alone reimburse me for what was stolen. When you hire a dog walker, you aren't just trusting someone with your pet - you're trusting the business with access to your home and belongings. Based on what happened to me, I have serious concerns about how this business screens the people it sends into clients' homes. I would never use this company again, and I cannot recommend it to anyone else. If you're considering hiring them, I strongly suggest you think twice before giving them access to your home.

They know my dog and love him, I feel like they are part of this extended family of caretakers helping to raise this pup. He absolutely loves going there. This is a truly community centered business - they don't have that icky, slick corporate feel. Don't be dissuaded by the few negative reviews - yes, mistakes happen, they could happen anywhere, and these are animals, after all. But these are exceptions to the everyday exceptional standard of care. I trust this group completely.

I think so many of us feel this way about our pets. That all changed when I found Woofs 'n Whiskers. I truly cannot say enough about how wonderful they are. They have two locations, both perfect for different needs. I live in Brooklyn Heights and use their smaller Warren Street location for daycare--it's incredibly convenient. Their other location has a large yard, an amazing staff, and is ideal for boarding. What really stands out is how well they know and care for each dog. They know every dog by name, they maintain clear and thoughtful rules, and my dog absolutely loves going there. She's stayed for as long as three weeks when I travel, and I also use them for shorter daycare visits--whether it's a couple of hours, a half day, or a full day. This business is so accommodating and well run. For example, I recently went to Florida and had a nightmare getting home--delayed for four days due to weather and travel issues. I emailed them, and within minutes I got a response: "Don't worry--we have Buddy. We'll get whatever food she needs. Stay as long as you need." They were flexible when I needed to extend, and equally flexible when my plans changed again. When I finally picked her up, she was happy, relaxed, and smelled amazing--they had given her a bath! This has completely lifted a huge burden off my shoulders. I no longer feel guilty when I travel because I know she is safe, cared for, and genuinely happy. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share this. I highly, highly recommend them. Try them--you won't regret it.
