We hit up bark, thinking dog friendly (and it was) but I wasn't expecting much from Maryland Barbecue. We tried a brisket sandwich a pork belly sandwich and the spare rib. I've been stationed in Texas and their beef brisket stood up to Texas brisket. I've worked with numerous folks who've been stationed in and married into Korean families. The Korean spare rib is one of the best I've had. And that pork belly sandwich was great- it had a great combination of sweet and heat. Best Barbecue I've had in a long time. Stopped there twice for lunch when passing thru on Rt. 50. My wife had gotten the beef and then the pork sandwiches Both of these sandwiches had alot of fat on them that she had to trim off. The beef sandwhich meat was too raw. I got the chicken ( thigh) sandwiches which were very good.Sorry to say the sandwiches were overpriced and not worth it. read more

We stopped by returning from Chincoteague on a Sunday evening. It was late and the menu limited but the pork belly bowl was excellent. The people were super nice and friendly. We met Boris, the owner who explained everything to us. The ice cream (a generous gift) was also excellent. We will definitely be back to taste the brisket (they run out of it ....). Amazing is the first word that comes to mind. I had heard a lot about them. Finally got to try for myself. The staff was very friendly. We ordered the meat platter. Brisket, Ribs, and Chicken with rice, collard greens and Slaw. Everything tasted great. The Brisket was the absolute most tender flavorful brisket that I've ever had. The owner talked to us. We had wanted a seasonal dessert, but they had ran out. He went in the kitchen and made us one from scratch. It was delicious. I will definitely go back. read more

Holy moly. Do yourself a favor and stop into this place. I am a vegetarian and promoting BBQ! I had the greens and cheese sandwich and it was a non-meat eaters dream. Wow. Just wow. The food here is amazing. The ingredients are clearly quality and it shows in the flavors. Presentation is well done too. Customer service was friendly and helpful in explaining menu options. I had the brisket sandwich, and shared a strawberry gelato with wifey. The first bite of the sandwich was honestly a "whoa" moment. I could taste the perfectly seasoned bark and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The slaw was done just right and perfectly complemented the brisket, which was between a sesame seed bun. Temperature was just right - nice and warm. The gelato was out of this world delicious. We had the strawberry cheesecake soft serve gelato and tried the original (brownie bites with chocolate and salted caramel). Silky and creamy smooth, not overly sweet. Not a connoisseur, but I imagine this is what world class gelato is supposed to taste like. The strawberry cheesecake was nicely appointed with fresh slices of strawberry and dusted with crumbled graham cracker, and topped with a strawberry puree. All this to say, we each drove an hour (one way) to eat here having never tried it....and will gladly make the drive back in the future based on our experience. Bravo, Bark, bravo! read more

Wow. Stopped by for breakfast. Small, clean and friendly. The guy behind the counter took the time to make a "bear face" in my latte. Then came the pork belly breakfast burrito- so juicy it was like the meat had just come from the smoker. Best breakfast burrito I've ever had. read more

Fantastic little spot off the beaten path. Food was amazing, especially the ribs (meatiest, fall-off-the-bone, perfectly seasoned and crunchy on the outside ribs!) and garlic mashed potatoes. This is the best brisket I ever tasted. But it's more than that. The brisket sandwich and the brisket burrito are so superior to any brisket sandwich/burrito I ever had in Texas or Maryland or anywhere else, for that matter. The flavors created by the other things like the slaw, the sauce, the seasonings combined with the wonderful brisket is phenomenal. When I told the owner about how much I loved the brisket but how impressed I am with how the sandwich and burrito, he told me about growing up in Italy and how that informed his decisions regarding the sandwich and the burrito and everything else that goes on the plate. You should try the food, say hi to the owner while you are there (he is incredibly friendly) and enjoy. I like it so much that I planned for weeks to have a Bark burrito on my birthday. read more

Stopped here for lunch. The store front definitely doesn't seem like a typical bbq place, but the woodpiles and smokers in the parking lot out front give it the right feel. The restaurant is clean and the patio area is great. We ordered the brisket sandwich, the chicken sandwich, and the Bark Bowl. All three came out quickly and looked appetizing. The ingredients looked to be of good quality and the meat was cooked very well. Unfortunately none of the three dishes had much flavor. The slaw was bland and was only helped by the pickled onions. The bowl tasted mostly of the red rice, which was like a commercial Spanish-style rice. We were disappointed with both the lack of selection on the menu and the lack of flavor in the meals. $60 for three meals and 3 bottles of water unfortunately wasn't worth it for us to return. read more

Stopped by Bark BBQ for lunch on our way to some the beach at Terrapin State Park. The food was delicious - we loved the pork belly sandwich and seasonal salad with brisket, which were both a light, flavorful take on usually heavy barbecue. It's a really cute spot with ample outdoor and indoor seating, but we were turned off by the number of flies roaming the outdoor seating area; we actually chose to eat sitting on the curb just a few parking spots over which was less fly-filled. Still, we appreciated that staff brought our pup some fresh water as soon after we ordered and would highly recommend eating inside or getting the food to go. read more

Had the brisket sandwich and it was absolutely the best brisket I've had outside Texas. The portions are more than adequate--one sandwich was enough for two people. Stopped by on 2/28 around 1130am. Had a brisket sandwich. It was as good as it looks in the pictures. It was hard to read the posted menu on the wall but there's a paper menu. The place is modern and clean. The actual cooking grills are outside and you can get a peek. A "pitmaster" gave me an overview of a brisket on the grill. Looked delicious. This is a must stop kind of place. Not hard to find but be aware of their hours. Strongly recommend. read more

This is the BEST BBQ hands down. The staff is extremely friendly and can help with any questions regarding the menu items. Absolutely insane Brisket Sandwhich. Easily the best barbecue place I have had from Annapolis to the eastern shore

In the top three for best BBQ I've had in my life. I've traveled extensively and had BBQ all over the USA and this place is in the top 3. They've only been open a few weeks and are only open for breakfast and lunch on weekdays, 0700-1500. The place was immaculately clean, service was quick and friendly. Food was served piping hot within 10-minutes of ordering. I had the Korean Sticky Ribs with Kimchi slaw and it was terrific. Ribs were very meaty and smoked to perfection. My friend had the Pork Belly sandwich with pickled vegetables and loved it. We finished off with the Apple Pie Croissant; it was heaven in a homemade light flaky pastry. Pickled vegetables are homemade on-site. Food was fabulous and the entire dining experience a pleasure. I give this place my highest recommendation. read more
