She very patiently helped ease Charlie into the water, encouraged him to get comfortable without pushing him. By the end of the session he was already starting to swim on his own. Really happy with this first lesson and I highly recommend the Rex Center to anyone who's looking to introduce their dog to the water.

Cant…read morepraise them enough :) In our sweet Maddox's situation (14 y/o Golden Retriever), we came to the Rex Center in hopes to help alleviate his severe/chronic arthritis, after his arthritis meds stopped working after 2 years. I shared more on his condition and our solutions below, but ultimately this experience at the Rex Center (IMO) helped extend Maddox's life by 7+ months. Big thank you to Ellen and Robin for your empathetic support, and just overall knowledge and skills, while helping to make Maddox's chronic arthritis livable again. ~~ More context to Maddox's arthritis condition for anyone that may be facing similar challenges -- hope it helps! . Maddox's arthritis meds (Adaquan/carprofen/gabapentin), which had worked great for ~2 years, mostly stopped working in early June 2023. By late June 2023, and about 3 weeks since the meds stopped working, it was to the point that Maddox couldn't get up effectively, or walk on his own; nor could he hold himself up while going to the bathroom. To me at this time, it seemed like something was sprained, whether that was in his paw or around, etc, as he was also regularly knuckling / curling his paw during these 3 weeks. First we got him a X-Ray, it came back as nothing being sprained or broke. Then a MRI with an orthopedic (Marin County), and that all but confirmed Maddox's debilitating arthritis as the singular cause. The orthopedic was even surprised it was only arthritis and nothing more. So after the MRI, he was prescribed prednisone (early July 2023) by the orthopedic. It worked! **This is also when I set up his first swim session with Ellen and the Rex Center ...and this worked too! Mainly, the Rex Center + prednisone was the only solution that provided results. Where once a week, over a few months, Maddox had a swim session at the Rex center. Progressively stabilizing into what came to be a situation where he was playful again, getting up and going to the bathroom on his own strength, and overall about as good as it could be given the circumstances. I can't thank Ellen and Robin enough. On the video and images I shared, those are from the very first session. Maddox got right in, swam great, and overall was relaxed (like a spa day!). Of note, Maddox in his entire 14 year existence NEVER swam too, for whatever reason he hated the water. With Ellen and Robin though, you never would have known. Thanks to the team here again, and I only wish we had Maddox in the water during those 2 years when his arthritis meds worked great. **My recommendation is if your dog has any level of arthritis, the earlier the better, get the pups in that warm water at the Rex Center.

I started bringing my dog here to address his luxating patella. We came up with a plan to start shockwave therapy and water treadmill therapy and supplements. We've had two appointments out of the five of the package we purchased. He's much more comfortable with all the staff and treatments now. The first two shockwave treatments are done with the doctors to assess and develop a treatment plan, and the following treatments are done with a certified therapist. Everyone has been so kind to my dog that he loves coming here. And not just for the human grade cheese he's given to do the exercises!! We were also given a comprehensive List of physical therapy movements and stretches to do at home. It's too soon to tell if the treatment is working well, but we have high hopes with this clinic! It takes us about 3 hours of traffic to get to and from this clinic, but it's such a gem. They provide towels and blowdryers and snacks for the water treadmill work. We opted to not try the injection as my dog is scared of shots, who isn't really?! The doctor was so kind to provide us with a another supplement option, which we have started. They check in to see how he's doing at the start of every appointment and tailor the session to his needs. We opted to not go through insurance, but they can help out with paperwork if you do so. Well worth it to learn non invasive techniques to rehab your beloved pups. Can't wait to see my little baby become stronger with these amazing professionals!

Despite everything we learned with our first dog, we quickly realized we weren't fully equipped to handle some of our new dog's quirks. She was a flight risk (would run away any chance she got), fearful, not a fan of other dogs, and didn't know any basic commands. We decided to enroll her in a 5-week board and train program with Viki, and it was one of the best decisions we could have made. Throughout the program, Viki regularly posted Instagram updates and was always responsive to my questions, which gave us so much peace of mind. What I appreciated most was how Viki helped us truly understand Pumpkin and her behavior. We initially thought Pumpkin was dog-aggressive, but Viki helped us see that she simply prefers her personal space and will correct dogs that are too intrusive. Viki then showed us how to properly handle these situations so we could confidentially support Pumpkin in real life settings. Pumpkin came home a better version of herself - more confident, focused, and calm despite distractions. I can now leave my door open and trust that she won't rush out unless I give her permission. Walks are no longer stressful; she doesn't freeze in fear, and she stays composed even when other dogs lunge. We're incredibly grateful for Viki's guidance and support.

The communication throughout the process was excellent, and the team's honesty and attention to detail were a breath of fresh air. We'll definitely continue working with them for follow-up training and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Disciplined K9 to anyone looking for effective, professional dog training that truly works!

We first enrolled about a year ago and Michael and Martha did an intake evaluation to make sure Pippa would fit in. After that Pippa was enrolled in their daycare 2x a week. One fabulous thing about Wiggling Tails is that they do pick up and drop offs in the city! Michael, Martha, and team are excellent communicators and are willing to be flexible. I LOVE all the fun photo shoots they do. They are so creative and go above and beyond. I'm including in my post the Valentine's Day and Mother's Day photo shoots which they framed for me . In addition to the photo shoots they will take action shots and videos of your pup during the day. I have always felt safe sending Pippa to Wiggling Tails. Pippa is always so excited when she sees the Wiggling Tails van and will literally leap into the crate in the back (and she hates crates)! I love Wiggling Tails and highly highly recommend them. Not only do I trust and love Wiggling Tails for my dog's weekly daycare (and periodically overnight boarding), but Lizou LOVES them too... He knows that when he goes to Daycare, he's in for a day of fun with some doggos AND some humans. Getting Lizou integrated into the Wiggling Tails schedule at a young age (~6months) was the BEST decision we ever made -- for me, and for Lizou (for structure, for dog friendliness, etc.). I actively recommend my friends' pups to consider them too! Now, Lizou even has dog friends that he has known from "the outside" within the Daycare schedule! Also.. the pickup/drop off schedule is one of a kind in the bay area, and SO convenient to work around work schedules! One additional note to add to my review of their high quality, loving, clean, and SAFE care of dogs, is that you never know what special gems the staff and owners will surprise and delight you with... whether it's neat swag, special holiday-themed photo-ops, or action videos from daily play... Wiggling Tails provides the utmost care AND some really adorable and thoughtful added bonuses. By the time I get home from work, I can trust that Sammie had a fantastic day of long runs and fun socializing with other dogs. Recently, our dog sitter wasn't able to take my dog in last minute, but Jose saved the day! Luckily he was available to watch her for a few days. Boarding can be traumatic sometimes esp. when it's a strange new place, but Sammie was completely at ease with Jose. We are so glad he's happy when he's there. I wish there was another star so I could give Dan Perata Training six stars! They're simply THE BEST! We went through two other trainers before we found Dan and his team, and without disparaging the other trainers (they were somewhat effective) I will say the Perata difference was night and day. Within a couple of weeks our five-month old puppy was walking on a leash, reacting less to other dogs in public, and gentle with kids. After a couple more weeks, he was performing recall, heeling with the kids, and almost totally ignoring other dogs. We are so proud to take him in public and people can hardly believe he's only six months old. Our goal is for him to work as a service dog and Dan has helped us get him to public places and the hospital so he'll be ready. I seriously can't say enough good things! The facility is spacious and clean and set up well for different training scenarios. The staff are all friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Training methods are positive reinforcement and consistency without using food as "bribes". We enjoy being part of the training as the whole family learns right along with our dog. Unfortunately, the two did not get along, and we found ourselves overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. After vetting several trainers, we chose Dan Perata because of his thoughtful, structured approach--focused on discipline and communication through commands rather than treats or punitive methods. His philosophy resonated with us: training isn't just about the dog, it's about the owners putting in the work too. This isn't a "drop off your dog and pick them up all trained" program. It's a serious commitment. We spent many weeks working closely with Dan and his incredible team, and while we eventually "graduated," that was just the beginning. We continue to train with our dogs at home and periodically attend refresher group walks to reinforce what we've learned. Additionally, we also use Dan's boarding services when we travel, knowing our dogs are in good hands and staying consistent with their training. We wholeheartedly recommend Dan Perata Training to anyone serious about building a strong, respectful relationship with their dog. But be prepared: this program requires your time, effort, and willingness to grow alongside your dog. If you're not ready for that level of commitment, you may want to rethink dog ownership altogether.
