It's hard to know where to even start here. There are some people in life who clearly have a calling. Dani's is without a doubt working with dogs. When I first moved to her area, a neighbor recommended Dani to me, and I was a little nervous - pickups at my house without me there? No in-person visits to the farm? I was just supposed to trust this stranger with everything? Heck I have probably spent maybe 15 minutes max seeing Dani in person over the years (bc her team usually does our pickup) and yet I now trust her like family bc I have seen her put my dog - and all his unique quirks and personality - first, time and time again. - Pre-COVID it was amazing to find someone who could do pickups and dropoffs - I, like most people, can't guarantee a drop off on my way to work or even a specific pickup before 5pm, which made arrangements with typical daycares impossible. Knowing that my dog would be home and comfortable was amazing. - My dog - didn't like strangers before, was scared of the first team member to come pick him up - no worries, Dani moved the schedule around to make sure someone he was comfortable with was picking him up, even coming personally for some periods of time! Her team of dog lovers are also awesome - you can tell they're happy to see your dog too! - Neighbor moved, we were no longer super convenient for her route, she could have reasonably dropped us or raised our rates, but she stuck with us, going out of her way every day and never increasing our rates by a dime. In fact, she rescheduled our pickups around days that another dog whom Dani recognized as my dog's "best friend" could attend. - COVID hit, and for several reasons, we had to greatly reduce how often we could send my pup. Dani was there for us, accommodating around our life changes, payment timelines, scheduling needs, all completely outside her policies. It was obvious she made it personal at this point. It was all just her supporting my dog as his personal guardian angel. As we start returning to offices, I'm struggling to imagine going back to commuting without Dani. We are about to move, and Dani's service area was actually one of the top 5 considerations in our housing search. When we were unable to make that happen this time, Dani graciously offered to help us find a new option. She's in our corner and all about our dog's safety through and through. I can't recommend her enough. If your dog can join Heeling Star, you have to do it! read more

I was introduced to Dani years ago when our previous dog walker left the area. What a difference! Our boy Oz was obviously smitten with her and we were so thankful to have found her. Dani worked with us for many years and was the only person we trusted to keep Oz overnight in his old age as his care needs became increasingly challenging. We have used Heeling Star for a while for our border collie mix 2 yo dog. They are extremely reliable and take great care of our dog. Each day our dog is happy and well exercised thanks to them. Their staff is always very professional and courteous and we always felt safe having them pick up and drop off while we were away. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Heeling Star has been such a blessing for our small family. My husband and I just moved to the Bay and we both have jobs that require long hours. Dani swooped into our life at the right time and has taken amazing care of our fur baby. She picks him up, takes him to the ranch to play, and then drops him off. Danielle and Meagan have been walking our super energetic dog for almost a year and a half, and they've been AWESOME. We're moving to Alameda and have no idea how we're going to find someone as reliable, professional, and caring to take the dog on hikes. Our dog always comes home happy and relaxed; on days where we've been at home when Meagan came around to pick him up, we've watched him run straight to her with a huge smile on his face, tail wagging, ready for whatever fun it is she has in store for him. Both Danielle and Meagan are obviously "dog people" through and through. Danielle also recommended a great dog sitter for when we were out of town. This is a waaay overdue review. I can only echo the sentiments of everyone else when I say that Danielle & Heeling Star are amazing. She took on my 90lb lab for three weeks while I helped out with a family situation. It's obvious that she loves the dogs, but also that she understands that dogs will be dogs. My dog ate an entire loaf of bread off her counter while she was there. I was embarrassed, but Danielle just laughed. When I dropped her off, my kid was more upset about leaving the dog, than the dog was! My dog was happy as a clam when I picked her up. I would recommend Heeling Star without reservation! read more

Cannot say enough about Danielle, Melissa and the entire Heeling Star team. They are true professionals and the only people we will entrust the care of our Shih-Tzu Allie. We have boarded Allie with Heeling Star as well as had them take her on countless walks and they took such wonderful, loving care, keeping us updated throughout. Dani is one of the best things to happen to our family...seriously! She has been walking our rambunctious puppy 5 days a week for 9 months now and it has changed our lives. Our sweet mutt has long legs and is built like a baby horse-- she needs to run and run. We know June is in good hands and gets a lot of great exercise when she is at the ranch. June LOVES Dani (as do we) and would do anything for her. We appreciate that Dani uses positive reinforcement when working with the dogs and she doesn't let June get away with anything. Dani goes the extra mile, texting us if something is amiss at our house, like the time we accidentally left the door unlocked. We also appreciate her unfailing honesty. If June misbehaves or is being a stinker, she will let us know and give us tips on how to help curb undesirable behavior. Having June walked 5 days a week isn't cheap but it has made such a positive difference in our lives and the happiness of our pup that it is money well-spent. Twice in the last 8 months, we have had to leave our sweet Hazel home alone for the entire day . The first time she was only 8 months old and last week we were gone for 10 days and our daughter stayed with her, but 4 of those days she had to work 10 hour days. Both these times Melissa came to our rescue and picked Hazel up, took her for 2 long walks with other sweet furry friends and then brought her back home. This dog is our precious family member. We would not trust her with anyone we didn't feel completely sure was committed to her safety and happiness. Melissa did everything she could to make sure we knew how important she took her responsibility. She emailed and texted back and forth with me to make all the arrangements and always responded quickly. And although I had concerns my great reviews of her services could impede my chances of further availability, I couldn't not repay her for her kind and compassionate great care for my precious puppy. read more

Our dog, Dante, is fun and very loving, but quirky. Dani and Melissa are both great with him, firm but patient. Until his arthritis caused us to cut back, he went out with the pack every weekday. They have made numerous adjustments and modifications to schedules and routines along the way to make sure he has a great outing and a good run, which is important for an active dog who is a little nutty. I never had a dog before Dante, and I was over fifty when we got him, so I needed some hand holding myself as we figured out the best strategies. Dani really loves these animals and is knowledgeable, reasonable, and energetic in her care of them. Since Melissa has been part of the team, she has shown the same dedication and skill. Both Dani and Melissa have helped us out in other ways, stopping by the house off schedule to let Dante out when I have left his doggie door shut, and helping with pick ups from appointments during our work hours. Recently Melissa house and dog-sat for us for three weeks. Knowing they were both in her hands really made a difference in our ability to be gone for that amount of time. She went above and beyond in her care of Dante, stayed in touch with us, and helped us out when our return was delayed for a day. A Heeling Star has been important to the well being of our pet, and the humans in our family feel lucky to know both Dani and Melissa. read more
