New year, new haircut for my pup, Mila! Mila's been coming here her whole life, and Dominque and her team continue to take care of her. Whenever I need to make an appointment, it's a quick call during business hours and they are usually able to accommodate with my schedule. Since Mila is a bit reactive at times, I like to make sure she's one of the first dogs in during the morning. This last visit, she was done within an hour which was great. This location is so close to home that I'm able to head over as soon as I get the call that she's ready. $120 for a 'buzz' cut for Mila, is a great deal in my opinion. Stacey was my dog's groomer before and she's awesome.! When Stacey left - we switched to Jane. Every time, Jane would say how badly matted my Havanese was. Her tone & choice of words were very hostile. I'm just not confrontational or just don't know how to reason out or respond back. Brought him today again - the groomer who took my dog in, checked him & did not find my dog badly matted as opposed to what Jane was saying after the grooming. I've been very very patient and respectful- but Jane doesn't care of how other people's emotions or whatsoever. I've tried several groomers in San Francisco (I live in San Francisco) only to be disappointed and, at one place down-right furious with a place in the Castro that shaved my little morkie down to the skin. That was several years ago and I'm still angry as my pet , who has the easiest going personality ever, was so disturbed that she crawled under chairs and hid in my closet for months afterwards. After that episode, I started grooming her myself since I had groomed dogs decades ago; however, I was still on the outlook for a real professional groomer. I found that in Dominique at Bark & Bubbles. Dominique took her time to discuss what kind of cut I wanted for her. And, she delivered precisely, and my morkie was happy and showed no signs of abuse, and the prices are a little more reasonable than the City. Very happy with the result! I've always thinking about taking Gourdy to do a professional grooming (I usually groom him myself) and found this business just about 10min drive from my place. It has been sitting in my collection folder for over a year because I'm a bit worried if the haircut will be bad or hurt my dear boi. But finally I made up my mind and schedule an appointment thru phone call. The scheduling was smooth tho they seemed to be pretty busy. I called last Wednesday and got an appointment for today after over a week. They are in a quiet neighborhood with a small parking lot behind (and plenty of street parking by the time I arrived). The current (5/12/2022) price for a haircut on a small dog is $80 which is okay imo. The drop off is pretty fast. I handed them my dog and filled out a card with contact info. Props to them that they also have a section to learn about ur dog's personality. They called after around 3hr and gave a lot of praises to my sweet boi. The end result is amazing! Gourdy smells good with a brand new look. He seems tired but happy. Overall I would definitely recommend them. Will come again in the future for grooming needs read more

Dominique, the owner is an amazing person. I am grateful for the immediate action she took to show support for my rescue puppy Harlem, after he showed extreme physical signs of distress while being in the care of Bark's and Bubbles, that required medical attention. Upon his second grooming visit Harlem experienced high blood pressure to the point of his eyes experiencing blood clots. Please see attached pictures. Although the source of the stressor can't be identified, when I called her and let her know his condition and behavior upon picking him up, she was in sincere shock and not once questioned anything I needed to do to provide care for my puppy. Harlem is currently still recovering from whatever occurred, is on medications, and slowly starting to come out of his crate. We are giving him a lot of love, but he is still not himself. The vet requested videos of the facility, of which none could be provided and stated that Harlem underwent significant stress for his body to undergo such changes. As his owner this has really affected me. Although Dominque has been professional and appropriate in this matter, my experience with her staff regarding this experience has been poor and unprofessional. This made me question, if I as a customer was treated poorly and disrespected via Bark's and Bubbles staff, after experiencing what I had with my puppy, how are the animals treated? I was so happy to have found this location for Harlem, and to hear how well he did with Dominique on his first visit. However, this second visit was heartbreaking. Again, Dominique thank you for your support and professionalism in dealing with this matter. However, from one professional to another I would recommend customer training to your current staff, your clients shouldn't be spoken to as they are. Also, I would recommend safety training when overseeing the pets or grooming them. Whatever occurred with Harlem occurred neglectfully, I know 100% that there was no malicious intent. However, we get busy and we get going. But, safety must always come first. Just a strong suggestion. Dominique, this was very difficult for me to write, but your staff are a reflection of you and you need to get them in check. This cannot ever happen again. Thank you for all your support. I would like to say first that my dog was never groomed here....but because of what I saw when I showed up unannounced. It has bothered me for months and I just feel I need to say something. I was recommended this place by my vet, it has more then 4 stars, however, I strongly recommend you show up randomly. I showed up one day around 2, there was a woman smoking outside, I gave a smile, Walked by her, and went inside. There was hair literally everywhere on the floor. Seemed like it hadn't been cleaned all day. No one greeted me, everyone looked pissed off, and the place was just dirty. The woman outside that was smoking apparently is the owner and she offered to help me. While making an appointment, I witnessed a groomer pulling a small dog out of a cage by its collar, very roughly. I made an appointment because I was too chicken to refuse but I cancelled the next day. And like another review said, there was absolutely no mention of needing shot records. God only knows what your dogs can catch there. Even Petco won't groom your dog without proof. So there you go. Maybe I caught them on a bad day, but you deserve to know. read more

We had our 80 pound Bernedoodle groomed here recently for the first time after quarantine and we are nothing but impressed with the grooming. Because she is such a large dog, the grooming usually takes a very long time. Beforehand we would take her to Petco and when we picked her up she would act very nervous and skittish, but when we picked her up from here she was calm and had obviously be treated very kindly. We got nothing but good comments about what a sweet dog she is etc. They used products of much better quality to groom her; it has been a few weeks now and her hair is still smooth and not tangled. She's soooo happy, relaxed. I called and explained that I was from 800 miles away and not a client. Poor maggie rode in the car with me all day yesterday. Got to our VRBO and it was a JOKE!!!!! Checked into LaQuinta in south SF because they're pet friendly. Took maggie to the amazing dog park today. She played with tons of sweet big dogs. But.....she got FILTHY! staying in a hotel, she sleeps in bed with me all night (apposed to being able to switch to her puppy tent or daddy at home). I needed her clean. She rolled in the dirt and had other pups drool all over her. Ugh. Pets and Bubbles stepped up. They fit her in and welcomed us with open arms. They bathed her, filed down her nails. And WHAT A GREAT MOTHER AND DAUGHTER TEAM they are!!!!!!! I'm from an area where we really appreciate special kindness, which is hard to find these days. I'm staying in this wonderful pet friendly gorgeous hotel for a week. But I have to say. The front desk staff act like I am an inconvenience. Ugh. Long faces. Snotty responses. And I REALLY TRY!!! to not be a nuisance! But when you have a wrong transaction or something coming out of a wall door behind your cabinet that makes your dog stand at attention, yeah, you have to talk to the front desk. One guy even was accusatory "are you saying we have rats!!!!) No dude. I'm saying there's a trap door behind the cabinet that we heard something jumping around in and everytime I shut it and leave, it's open when I return. Anyway. I SECURED IT!!!! NOT THEM!!!!! Just to say, I am not a problematic person and the last two days have pretty much sucked. This pet spa, not just the fact that they were "No problem", but they were soooo sweet to me and maggie!!! Where I'm from, our pet spas are run by people without customer service or family personalities and these ladies went out of their way to make me feel like a part of the family. I've been using this place for my dog for over 2 years. It is Very reasonably priced and does a good job - friendly and accommodating staff.

I took my dog here for their very first grooming experience and it was a big mistake. My dogs nails were cut unevenly and her haircut was lacking. The worst part about my experience though was that they cut my dogs foot and she was bleeding profusely. I'm not being dramatic - there was a line of blood from where she came out of her crate and to the door. They claimed that this happens all the time and my dog was jumpy which I can attest to. However, an adequate groomer would have been able to handle the dog. I will never be coming here again due to their lack of professionalism, considering they didn't even offer me a discount and/or refund for doing this to my dog. It wasn't the end of the world, but I'm writing this review to prevent other dog owners from going through what I did. After a few days I got a reply from the owner of the store offering me a refund for what I went through. I still will not be bringing my dog back, but appreciate the gesture and accepted. read more

This is the best place to take your fur babies. THE BEST!!! Our 2 year old Boxer, Duke, has been going to Petco for grooming. He even graduated from Petco's obedience class. He goes every last Friday of each month. Today, they refused to take him and said he's getting worse because they can't get the leash on him. I called Bark'n Bubbles and spoke with Dominique. I told her about what happened and she told me they have a spot today. Guess what? They got kisses from Duke!!! They were even able to trim his nails!!!! This is really the best place!!!! Worst place ever $125 to butcher my 15 year old border Collie I was out of town my mother took him look at how they butchered him..

Wish I could give them 100 stars. My pit mix is typically horrible when getting his nails done. He screams bloody murder as soon as you touch his feet. So for the past 7 years - he's created a lot of anxiety in me about getting his nails clipped. We were in and out of Bark n Bubbles in 2 minutes flat. One team member bear hugged my pit and sat down in a chair with him so his feet faced outward. The other team member quickly went through each of his feet with a combination of dremel and clippers (where his dew claws were really long). He didn't squeal once. And his little bit of squirming was easily controlled by the bear hug. They even helped keep me calm while they were clipping his nails! Highly recommend. read more

Our dog has never let us clip her nails; she puts up a big fuss & fight whenever we go near them.
