We just had windows installed so we could utilize the porch during the winter months. The contractor assured us that he would be able to reinstall the blinds, but with the windows and the trim taking up the space where the shades were previously recessed, his crew could not figure out how to resolve the problem. He had an obligation to reinstall the blinds, so I suggested that we have Budget blinds reinstall and bill him. He agreed and I made contact with Craig at Budget blinds. I can't say enough about how accommodating and quick to respond they were. Their installer Tim was out the next day and accessed the situation and re hung all of the blinds with the exception of one which he took back to have recut to fit where the two corner windows fit. I just got a call from Craig that the blind is ready for when its convenient for me to have reinstalled....that's refreshing after all I've been through with the window contractor. A Most Disappointing "Experience" indeed. One Stop was highly recommended to us by a friend, and we…read morehad no reason to doubt them for a moment. We were thrilled to have blinds and shutters in our lovely new Lenexa home, and our sales representative seemed to be competent, even if a touch weary and condescending. We agreed to double shutters in the front facing room, motorized shades in the high windows in the kitchen, and high to low manual shades in the bedrooms. Of course, our rep guaranteed that he would personally oversee all work for the entire installation. Our order arrived ahead of scedule, but this would be the last positive note in our dealings with the company. The very first issue was that our motorized blinds were NOT included. Our "hands on" rep was nowhere to be found, and at no point was our shipment inspected before being sent out. Neither was one of our costly shutters damaged. We'd been pumped up on Hunter Douglas being the premium manufacturer used by OSD, but after this was pointed out, we were informed that "lately there had been some slip ups" with the products. Of course, we were told that this "had never happened before" (and yet it just did). Oh, and of course our rep showed up and admitted NOTHING, but apologized for misrepresenting himself, as he never really meant to supervise our job personally. The owner sent my wife a lovely email offering to "look into" our situation, etc, and promised to complete the installation as per our agreement, which we found to be the lowest bar any reputable business could achieve. Finally, our purchase of the motorized units had been agreed upon on a larger cell size, but the rep signed onto it without bothering to explain that they were not offered in the larger size. The care we were given was shoddy at best, careless at worse. This business continues to enjoy high ratings, but should anyone ask, we are unable to offer anything close to a recommendation. This was a dismal fail.

We did have a moment of hesitation, because he does everything solo, but he was so down to earth and knowledgeable, that our instincts said to go with him. It was quite a job for someone to do 24 vertical blinds in one day. He came precisely when he said he would and was done 6 or less hours later! No mess was left and everything thing was PERFECT!! Our experience here was unfortunately not the same. The rep came out (not a designer) and really didn't offer any advice. I was torn because I knew it would be an expensive purchase (we always go higher end) and didn't want to regret it. After approx 3 mos (with no contact from Budget Blinds) I called to ask on the status. Hmmmm all the shades were in .... The tech came out to install them and I was a bit disappointed. One shade hangs lower on the right, and a few shades show the rubber banding which hangs below the shade. One shade should really have been two separate shades because of the width of the window. As a result of the wide expanse and weight that shade does not hang evenly either. As a side note, in our previous home the designer installed 2 shades in an expanse the same size. So... why not contact budget blinds back? Because this is only a temporary home and will be selling soon!

When the blinds came after 6 weeks, one of the two had a defect in them. When I called the store, Trudy told me it would be a week before the replacement would come. It's been 3 weeks and still nothing. When I asked for a price reduction Trudy told me I had to talk to 2 other people first. No price reduction, no replacement blind and an inferior product. Don't be fooled by the name "budget". These are expensive products and not worth the aggravation at all.
