Really good recent experience with Bareburger in Montclair. We have ordered from them before and it has always been really good. I love the fact they have a lot of options for vegans on their menu. I ordered the Rambler Burger and Waffle Fries, which were delicious. So was the carrot cake. Their vegan shakes are really good too. (didn't have one this time around!) So the interior decor was interesting. We came here for early lunch. Staff was friendly. We tried the Buckaroo burger on a gluten-free bun (my friend is gluten sensitive) and it was really good. The beef was juicy and the bun was soft, it didn't even feel like I was eating gluten-free bread since the burger was so flavorful. We also ordered be fried and rings for our side. You have an option to make it a side or "to share". With the "to share" portion, we got to choose two sauces, and we went with sriracha mayo and Thai spice. I thought the sriracha mayo was spicy but my friend didn't think it was that bad. The Thais spice sauce was milder tho. The onion rings were perfectly cooked with a crispy batter. I've been to a few other Bareburger locations and loved them but this was my first time here, and it lived up to the high expectations I have for this franchise. Plus this one is BYOB! As with all Bareburgers, all the meat is raised sustainably and humanely and the toppings are organic. I'm very selective about the quality of meat I eat so that's why Bareburger is my go-to place for burgers. Additionally, as with other locations, there are a variety of unusual meat options, such as duck, wild boar, and elk. I went with the Blue Elk burger, which has an elk patty with blue cheese, bacon, and fig jam. It was delicious, and the combination of toppings was perfect. I also had some awesome crispy onion rings. We finished off the meal with coffee and my only complaint is that the only non-dairy milk they have is hemp milk, which doesn't dissolve well in coffee so it makes it unpleasant. That was one tasty burger. I went with the supreme, medium, and got a perfectly cooked, thick and delicious patty with excellent ingredients and bun. Really really good. Delicious macho fries!!! Delicious Flamin Bacon burger!!! I wish somehow we knew it was a BYOB joint before we went looking to drink there. Our waiter actually let us know there was a wine spot right across the street and another liquor store up the block so problem easily solved. How can you serve breakfast and not have coffee. The machines were broken at the moment but they could have mentioned that in a note. Pancakes are pretty simple not to screw up. But unfortunately they used almond extract instead of vanilla extract making the pancakes unsavory. My kiddos tasted the difference and left them aside. Came here with some of my friends for dinner. They sat us fairly quickly. They have specialty burgers already designed OR you can build your own burger which is kind of cool! They allow you to switch things out on the specialty burgers, if there's some changes you want to make which is really great. They have a lot of vegan and gluten Free options for those looking! A little limited if you're vegetarian but not vegan, because all the specialty non meat burgers are vegan by design, but the build your own burger allows some more options. I had the American burger, which I added bacon to. I love it, the burger patty was so good! It tasted fresh and not frozen, which is nice. The sauces were all so good, but my favorite was definitely the special sauce! My friends all had variations of the specialty burgers and loved their burgers. We ordered onion rings & fries, as well as waffle fries to share amongst us and we were super happy with that as well! Based on the chicken tenders and waffle fries alone I will most likely not give this place another try. Only reason I gave a 2 star is because it's a nice atmosphere definitely targeted towards kids with style customer service is good just the food lacked quality for the cost. Waffle fries we cold and kinda stale idk if they were frozen or not but I've had some pretty good frozen fries. The chicken tenders I would say were made with breast meat since the came out so dry, the breading had zero seasoning and somewhat of a cardboard texture. I have to say the only down side here is the service, we did a takeout order and sat and waited 25 mins today Sunday at lunch for our order the girl that took the order never made eye contact with us to apologize for the wait or keep us posted, a little customer service goes a long way. This is my family's new favorite spot. The decor is very fun and all the workers are very friendly and welcoming. The strawberry lemonade is the best I ever had. You can really taste the fruit and not just a mouthful of sugar. We have had the beef, turkey, and bison burgers and they were all terrific. My daughter says it's the best turkey burger she ever had. I think the bison is my favorite. Also, the bourbon pear jam on the burger was amazing. I loved all the different options. Fries are also great and the portion was very generous. The Thai ketchup is a must for the fries. Banana foster shake is delicious. We can't wait to go back and try more things! read more

Ok. This was my first time going to a bareburger in years. Although the service was great, the food wasn't that great. I ordered a vegan standard w/ onion rings and a Caesar salad. I'll start with the Caesar. It was horrible. It came with a creamy italian dressing, no croutons, tomatoes, and... drumroll... shredded yellow American cheese!! Nothing Caesar about it... On top of that, it was over $10. Smh. The burger and onion rings were a little too salty for my taste. I've had impossible burgers before and it seemed like maybe they're adding salt to it??
