After my experience today, I felt like Bare Necessity should absolutely be my first review. Let me start off by saying the staff overall here are SO KIND. I had to bring my son (19months) with me to my wax appointment today and I was blown away by how accommodating and understanding they were. I got waxed by Chasity and not only was she amazing with waxing but she was amazing with my son. The whole time she's chatting with him so he doesn't cry, she put on coco melon to entertain him, she made him a glove balloon. While waxing is never painless, she let me know the parts that would be particularly unpleasant, which I appreciated so I could mentally prepare myself lol. Needless to say, this spa is incredible, and the people who work here are the kindest most amazing souls. I will absolutely be back (hopefully without my son lol) and they are definitely my go to for my beauty needs from here on out. 3 Days later and I'm still irritated. So apparently you can't book for two people at the same time for a service that takes literally a minute and a half. First frustration, I try to do this and am told that instead I will have to book a second appointment. Ok, fine.  So I do. I arrive on appointment day and explain that if I can't get in at same time as my partner that I needed to cancel the 11:45a that you required me to book because I do not have the time. Instead of accomodating me for a minute and a half service (yes I mention again). We arrived early for check-in for the original appointment I had requested at 11:15a. We waited 11 minutes past the first appointment time. I find it unreasonable that they could not accommodate two people for the same service in 11 minutes. At 11:26a, they call my bf back. At 11:29a he's done and back out. We leave. I get a call at 11:55 from Kimberley asking me if I was running late, I don't know if she gets confused easily or what, maybe she forgot the interaction 25 minutes earlier. I tell her that they couldn't fit me in and remember i cancelled the 11:45a appointment when I was in at 11:10a. She started on some crazy stuff about "well our cancellation policy... blah blah" I hung up, are you serious? Second, you're not willing to accomodate but yet you're going to school me on your policy and make me wait past the appointment time. Get out of here. read more

I'm so grateful I found this hidden gem! After just moving back from Los Angeles, I was in desperate need of finding a new esthetician that was thorough and conveniently located. In my previous experience, finding a good esthetician has been more challenging than finding a suitable guy to date in 2018. So when I get lucky and find a really good one I hold on to her for dear life. Agi was my go to lady in LA and she was quick and efficient. She'd have me out within 20-25 minutes and I thought she had to be the fastest esthetician I've ever met. That was until I went to Bare Necessity. When I first walked in I noticed the cute decor and how clean the space was. I also took notice to the music that was playing and I'm not sure who I can thank for the playlist but I absolutely love it. I was greeted by Elaine within a few minutes after arriving. It became evident to me early on that Elaine is very personable, kind, clean and fast. By the time you realize you had all the hair ripped from your nether region, she's already done. Not sure what her secret is to getting clients in and out within 15 minutes or how she makes the process almost painless but I certainly appreciate it. Because of this, I have been going to Elaine for almost a year if not a little longer. I can't believe I hadn't wrote a review sooner but the procrastination struggle is real for me. My suggestion is that you book an appointment with Elaine for all your esthetician needs as soon as possible. She books pretty quickly and rightfully so because she's uh-may-zing! I discovered this salon prior to Covid 19, I love the design of the salon as well as the atmosphere. They were shut down during Covid but are now open and are doing all they can to keep you safe during your visit. I see Rachel and love her. I originally came and picked Brittany as my esthetician. She was wonderful so props to her. I had made an appointment for 9am right when the business opened on the weekend so I could be about my business and three employees were standing outside - whoever was supposed to open was late and nobody had the courtesy to call me. Wax takes time to heat up and I could have saved myself the time. Brittany being an angel, rescheduled my for the same day with an appt that cut into her lunch. But because she still had her other appointments, my service was not finished. On my third appt I received a notification that my appointment was with someone else and not Brittany. On the email it had another estheticians name and not hers, and she was also removed from the website. I contacted them via email and just received a generic "she's no longer with us so we rescheduled you with someone" I found it to be pretty frustrating that instead of letting me know the employee I liked to see was no longer working there, it was never mentioned. I'm especially picky with who waxes me and would have definitely appreciated some tact on their end, in regards to not being able to open on time or letting me know about Brittany. read more

This is such an adorable place! I saw Bree for a Hydrating facial and it was AMAZING. I have never had a facial before, so I don't have a comparison, but I think the environment itself is worth it. Bare necessity popped my Sherry. Never waxed before but once I did, I never went back to shaving. I have been going for 6+ years. I even tried other places in between but no one waxes like Bare. This is the best wax place in Gilbert! I have tried European wax center (since everyone is obsessed with them) and also many other places in the east valley but nothing compares to this place! They are nice, friendly, and have amazing services. I have been going to Rachel F now for quite a while and she completely transformed my eyebrows after *cough* *cough* European Wax totally screwed them up. They were shaped wrong and thinner that I liked. It took definitely more than 1 appointment to get my brows to the perfect place but Rachel F did that! This review is long overdue! I absolutely love this salon & I'll always keep coming back as long as Rachael Fett is there. She is my go-to for waxing. It's quick, moderately pain free and she's awesome to talk to! I use to go to places where they would rip the wax off and it seemed like it was in slow motion. Ouchy!! But Rachael does it so quick, you hardly feel a thing. She shapes my eyebrows perfectly & when I bring my boyfriend to get his done, she cleans them up nice but they still look "manly." The receptionists are always very sweet and understanding when you need to cancel or change an appointment. I love that they give you discounts on prebooking and send reminder texts about upcoming appointments. I've been to this spot a couple times and it was okay. The waxers were not very thorough with the removal of my hair during my Brazilian. Most recently, I went to Ally for a second time. She is very kind and makes me feel comfortable, but once I got home I discovered she left a ton of wax on my body. On my inner thighs and all near where the butt strip is placed. I called to let them know and asked to cancel my appointment that I made when checking out with her again, and they did not seem to care that a waxer left wax all on my body.
