These tacos were great and the sauces were amazing. We then had the Burrata Fresco. It was our first time having this as well and we were quite pleased with it. The cheese was super creamy and went super well with the bread. Usually, the mains take a while to come, especially if you come on a weekend night (this was Father's day weekend, so it took a bit longer than usual) Finally we got to our mains. He had his usual, the Chimichurri steak sandwich, and I got a fish and chips, which i had never tried before. His steak was great and cooked really well. I've had the steak sandwich before as well and it was super well seasoned and cooked perfectly. Do keep in mind they only serve it with one slice of bread, though you can add an additional slice to make it a real sandwich. My fish and chips were good as well. The fish was thickly battered and was a little on the oily side but it wasn't bad. It went great with the truffle fries I ordered. The slaw was purple cabbage, which I think I prefer to the green cabbage kind. The restaurant was kind enough to give us a free cheesecake on the side with a cool flame sparkler for me and my boyfriend's anniversary. It was quite good and we thought is was quite generous of the restaurant. Overall, Taps is a great all rounder place to get food with your family or friends. They serve great pizzas here as well and I haven't had a dish I was disappointed with yet. It is on the pricier side, but if you have the ability to splurge, this is a great place to do so.

I think it was a good decision as the tomato and smashed avocado were sufficient to make the toasted wrap wet already. The lobster was decent - there was more meat than I expected, but some of the meat was quite soft (not al dente as fresh lobster often is). The bacon and toasted wrap helped add some texture mouthfeel, which I appreciated. For those wondering, the "tiger sauce" was a slightly spicy, sour mayo-based sauce. My friends ordered the Cuban panini and the sliders. Both found the food portions to be quite generous and were stuffed after the meal! Overall, it was a decent experience. The patio is a tad too close to the road so it can be a bit loud, and do be prepared for a wait if you plan on eating here.

We started out with a couple of appetizers, steak tartare, and burrata done in a seasonal style with butternut squash. I thought it an odd combination but it was so amazingly good. Then our mains, I had the rigatoni with meatballs, and as a special feature item my wife had tagliatelle with braised short rib. I am always critical of Italian food given that my grandmother, mother, stepmother, wife, and mother-in-law are masters at it, but let me tell you their rigatoni with meatballs is the real deal. The sauce is amazing, pasta cooked perfectly, and meatballs were so delicious with every bite. The server was even cool about getting me some extra bread to clean up that sauce with which was an extra treat. I observed a manager apologize to some people at a nearby table for the slow service, but we never received a similar (or any) apology. Our toddler is ordinarily very well behaved in public, but he sat in his high-chair for so long that he started to wail. Regarding the food, when it actually arrived, the portions were really small for the prices they are charging. I could have probably cooked something that tasted better at home, and I'm definitely no chef. Overall the place feels very grungy. This was our first time here and we decided that we're not going to be coming back.
