Ordered food. Ended up getting the wrong sandwich -16.99 for a chicken sandwich which had brown avocado and a slice of Kraft processed cheese, and came with an embarrassingly small amount of fries. Ordered the 'Mexican' nachos. Chips were greasy and Came with olives and a boat load of onions. More Mediterranean than anything else and small for $13.99. Chicken was not 'breast' as advertised but rather some kind of processed patty. Overall: food was overpriced for poor quality -the service was the best part and even that was average at best. The bar itself is in need of a serious makeover. Spend your hard-earned money somewhere else.

1 extra star for opening their patio seating on a rare sunny warm day in early March!…read more We came for a pre-concert dinner and the establishment is well-versed in handling the uptake of crowds during this time. We shared the pork entrée for two and ordered an extra side of truffle fries. For a two person entrée, the quantity is on the light side. However, it is just enough if both people are light eaters. Would definitely order an additional dish if you would like a more substantial meal. That being said, the pork was done perfectly, and we really liked the spetzel on the side.

Spectacular Canada Day!…read more I came to visit Canada during my 4th of July break and ended up visiting during Canada day. I hit OpenTable and found Sunset Bistro open for reservations, so I quickly made a morning reservation. Thankfully I checked OT because their hours on Yelp showed that they were closed! We both ordered coffee and the amazing Bistro Benedict and were not disappointed. The service was great, our server Jibran kept our coffee filled with coffee and kept bringing milk. The music was a little loud, but being only one of three tables this morning, it is likely more noticeable without the constant sound of other tables talking. I hope to come back again someday, certainly a great experience.

Their food is of elevated quality and the service is good. There are two parts of the restaurant. When you enter, there is a bar area which is just average in appearance. Then you get to the main dining area where it is nicely decorated and plenty of light entering the area. The dining area is befitting of an upscale restaurant. We ordered the following: 1. Mixed Green Salad (small $7.95, large $13.95). 2. Fish & Chips (1 pc $18.95, 2 pc $26.95). 3. Baked Pistachio Salmon ($26.95). 4. Bread Pudding and Ice Cream ($9.99). The Mixed Green Salad has tomatoes,  cucumber, matchstick carrots, sweet peppers, onion, goat cheese candied walnuts, and tossed in a lemon vinaigrette. The salad was good but needed more vinaigrette. We asked for more and they gave us a container with more, which made it perfect. Another thing: we ordered small but they misheard me and gave us large. They were nice enough to change our bill to reflect the price of a small. We ordered two pieces for the Fish & Chips. The fish is haddock, beer battered, with fries, signature tartar sauce, and cole slaw. The haddock was plump, fresh, flakey, and tasty. The batter was crispy but a little too thick. My mother and son didn't have the strength to cut through it. The Baked Pistachio Salmon had a pistachio crusted salmon, roasted sweet potatoes,  warm spinach, seasonal vegetables,  and drizzled maple butter. The glaze had a strange taste. I found out that they put Dijon mustard on the fish to hold the pistachios in place. I usually don't like Dijon mustard it it wasn't overly strong. The mustard should be listed in their menu I think. On the positive side, the salmon was plump, fresh, flakey, and tasty. It appears that this restaurant serves good seafood. I will have to come back to try other items. The Bread Pudding and Ice Cream was smooth and delicious. It is a custard with raisins and rum butter sauce, with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream. The custard was smooth. I hardly tasted the rum which is good because I don't like alcohol. The whipped cream was fresh and light. There are 4 parking spots nearby on Elizabeth St that are free for 20 mins until 18:00. I happened to arrive at 17:59 and was able to park for free for our entire dinner! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are separate male/female washrooms and they are wheelchair accessible. There are paid street parking and parking lots nearby. There are high chairs for little children. Review 2023-071

My…read morefriend from Toronto drove to Mississauga with her partner, and we settled on Pump House Grille. Honestly, the food was good but I had to take some marks off for the service. First, the kitchen staff was very evidently not wearing masks properly - over four had their masks pulled down over their chins and/or fully exposing their noses. Second, the service was painstakingly slow. It took them over half an hour to serve our dishes after we placed our orders. As for the food, I ordered the lobster avocado wrap but with the tiger sauce on the side as I was worried it'd be a touch too soggy. I think it was a good decision as the tomato and smashed avocado were sufficient to make the toasted wrap wet already. The lobster was decent - there was more meat than I expected, but some of the meat was quite soft (not al dente as fresh lobster often is). The bacon and toasted wrap helped add some texture mouthfeel, which I appreciated. For those wondering, the "tiger sauce" was a slightly spicy, sour mayo-based sauce. My friends ordered the Cuban panini and the sliders. Both found the food portions to be quite generous and were stuffed after the meal! Overall, it was a decent experience. The patio is a tad too close to the road so it can be a bit loud, and do be prepared for a wait if you plan on eating here.

It took even longer to get someone to take our order and give us water. But our server was nice and friendly, and did her best to manage the double-duty being a bartender and server for several tables at the same time. The food was just average. The Pineapple Mango Salmon was pretty good. I liked that the salmon was grilled well done without any sauce, and the pineapple mango salsa that it came with was nice and light. I didn't taste any coconut in the coconut rice, and thought the mixed seasonal vegetables were quite oily (and a bit overcooked). It was still a decent plate though. Thai Salad was disappointing - it costed about the same as most other mains, but it was about 80% wonton crisps with very little amount of actual vegetables. I also wasn't a fan of the peanut and sesame dressing that it came with. Blackened Basa Fish had a kick to it - quite spicy. It came with a good amount of the fish (at least 3 good-sized pieces), on top of very oily vegetables and lobster mashed potatoes that contained almost zero lobster (but the mashed potatoes tasted okay - as expected for restaurant-style mashed potatoes). The guacamole was the only part of this dish that I somewhat liked.

It had rained the day we went and while indoor dining was bustling, we chose to sit outside on the patio, which was empty on arrival. Tables and chairs were wet but the weather changed and the sun shone again, drying up the area. We ordered several appetizers to share; bang bang shrimp (yummy), soup dumplings (yummy), spinach and artichoke dip (mediocre - have had better), sweet potato and regular fries plus dips (both very good) and dragon boat lettuce wraps (the crispy noodle and chicken with hoisin sauce and cashews was delicious and my favourite but the lettuce leaves had spoiled spots and seemed not to be thoroughly washed). I took the liberty of cleaning the lettuce before eating it. We also received dirty plates but bringing this to our server's attention quickly remedied the problem. Besides these minute concerns, the food and service and company were great! The patio filled up quite fast shortly after we placed our order and received our food. Arriving before dinnertime surely worked in our favour!
